Barvas42 the dude for this northern soul vibe...have been into Northern Soul for 6-7 years and didn't know all these tracks. Thanks, great compilations.
I STILL LIKE TO LISTEN TO THE JAZZ FUNK NOW AND THEN ,,I SOMETIMES BLAST OUT A BIT OF MAZE ON A SUNDAY MORNING ALTHOUGH FRANKIE BEVERLEY HAS A FEW NORTHERN PLAYS WHEN WITH THE BUTLERS
If you don't think this post has any thing to with Northern Soul then you've failed year one of your apprenticeship. There's so much more to Northern soul than a handful of years in the 70s, those with an open mind or who's attended Northern events for a few decades following the close of the Casino can put your right.
Its in your soul....YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE IT..... but please don't try and get into it just cos its getting a bit of attention latetley....I don't want to put anyone off great music..but please don't jump on a band wagon and spoil something great
Dave Sulcas Until 10 min. ago I knew nothing of NS.(I'm not English nor living in England.) I just want to point out, that Google may be your friend ( mine it isn't), but it writes loads of BS too - just like wikipedia as well! Just because Google sais so doesn't mean it's true! (we should keep that in mind, or else Google will rewrite everything and no one notices!)
Can anybody help me find what was described by Radio 2 DJ Brian Mathew as a big band sound with female vocal, and a Northern Soul classic the title of the song was i think was ................... I Love Him, you can`t forget this great tune the band is very loud .

Very standard music, good soul though...but cat's eyes from life is much more interesting for example.
