Agreed the drone shots is dope asf. BTW guys fun facts: "Malapascua" means "Bad Easter" in Spanish back in Dec. 25, 1520 Magellan's ship got stranded on this Island due to bad weather. He later arrived in SUGBO on April 7, 1521. The real name of this Island is "Logon" in Sebwano that's what the locals in that Island call it.
@@lapulapupintado2892 That's not right. Magellan's ship never got stranded in Malapascua as it was not the route from Limasawa Island at the southern tip of Leyte. Malapascua Island is on the northernmost tip of Cebu mainland and it's impossible for Magellan's ship to sail past the island based on the route as contained in historical books. The truth is a Spanish friar and his company set off from the main town of Daan Bantayan (in mainland Cebu) on the eve of Easter Sunday to celebrate Easter mass the following day. They encountered strong waves along the way as there was a typhoon. They successfully crossed the narrow strait and was able to celebrate Easter Mass the next day. Logon is the name of the barangay of Daan Bantayan that encompasses the entire island of Malapascua. Sugbo is the local name for Cebu which is still in use by most rural local Cebuanos and even people from outside Cebu.
@@lionhearted1969 Learn your history bro, Magellan got stranded in Logon/Malapascua on his route to SUGBO. Remember this was the 1500's they relied solely on wind power and their compass wasn't really all that top notch. Of course he arrived in Limasawa first but they didn't immediately find SUGBO sailing around in a wind powered Tub. Remember SUGBO is surrounded by 167 Islands & Islets. I'm sure they had a hard time locating SUGBO in a wind powered Tub.
@@lapulapupintado2892 So you have your own history book? Who wrote that book? Who's the author? Never have I heard of any history tidbit about Magellan got stranded in Malapascua. You must be a Leyteno. Because I already heard some Leytenos don't believe in Magellan's recorded history as chronicled by his chronicler, Pigafetta.🙂

Kumusta kuya? (how are you brother?) Quite an adventure you have in Malapascua! That's what makes your vlogs different from the rest. May I suggest to do a day trip to Kalanggaman Island nearby. It's part of the Island of Leyte. It's one of the Maldives like sandbar Island in the Philippines. Be prepared to pay $10 entrance fee more or less. Boat package includes food. They have tents along the beach for overnight stay ($6 more or less).Salamat po, on your hard work showing the Philippines to the world!
Thank you for giving more exposure to a hidden Philippine treasure waiting to be discovered by tourists. I wish you would give more exposure to other tourist spots too. Thank you. ❤️
You should do snorkeling at its northeastern side of the island as it is the only remaining pristine coral gardens of Malapascua Island. Snorkeling is part of the island hopping around the island where you get to snorkel the coral gardens and the shipwreck near the Lighthouse.
Wow Mergim that road when each time you stop either way going to the north. It’s like a labyrinth. No street nor arrow to guide. Good thing people around were your compass🤣🤣
What's up Mergin? Am missing the continuation of your Malapascua's sandbar adventure. You've been silent for 2 days. Hope you're doing well. Wifi issue perhaps!?! Keep safe always! God bless.

You are making unique content more and more Mergim ... like Filipino Boo ... he is one heck of an adventurer ... well when one is young, one gets to be adventurous lol. Anyway like I mentioned before, starting August of each year it is the traditional start of the typhoon season in PHP all the way till Nov or Dec. So I will advise you to be more aware of the weather and also as the days creeps on towards the Sep Oct months, you might want to keep tabs on the weather forecast reports and the brewing/raging typhoons racing in from the Pacific Ocean.
Hey Mergim, I love your vlogs. It's funny and entertaining. You have the skill of striking a conversation with any stranger which I find quite remarkable. Anyways, keep exploring and have fun!

Mergim - I’m comparing Malapascua with Boracay. I’m picking the former even with the rain. There is something about a fishing village.

if you want an overnight stay at Kalanggaman island you need to register at the Municipal Hall of Palompon, Leyte
