you apply the paste to your skin and leave it on for 4 - 6hrs depending on what paste your using. generally natural henna has to be left on for a couple of hrs while the artificial stuff can be washed off in an hr. after its washed off it leaves a stain on the skin and then washes off within a weeks time :) like a temporary tattoo
ok thanks so much! will it work on paper? because im an GCSE art student that is currently doing Body art and i chose henna. So i was wondering if it will work on paper as i am creating a page about henna
Sunny conrad it generally doesnt work so well on paper, cos its a paste the paper gets wet and crinkles and then the henna peals off, it does stain the paper somewhat but cos of the water content in the paste the design smudges. im not sure how it will look on a paint canvas though, it might work there. alternatively u can put some brown paint in a cone and draw some henna designs on paper, it wont really be henna but it will look like it and nobody will really be able to tell the difference!

u can use a makeup pencil and draw the design, but dont apply the henna directly onto the makeup-line or it may not catch color

henna stains the superficial skin, the stain lasts 5 to 10 days stains depending on how quickly your skin exfoliates
