      Africans are not having babies either. Why? Education of women. Imagine having 8 kids and 6 are male and all 6 are layabouts because they didn't die from the famine you were accustomed to. The whole world is declining in population.

    His point about not being able to build anything totally resonates with me. HS2, lack of housing, substandard roads. Just look how long it takes us to build one Nuclear power station. We have the brains but not the will nor the brawn to do these kinds of things.

    • @dallassegno
      @dallassegno 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There is no lack of housing. Just lack of availability. Lack of housing and famine never stopped people from having kids before. Educating women is the number 1 form of birth control.

    Africa’s population growth will also slowdown soon. I’ve seen my grandparents had 8-10 kids, now my parents have 3-4 kids, and life is getting more expensive as people move to the cities. Pop decline will be a worldwide problem

    As longs as people see having kids as an obstacle rather than advantage to achieving their goals in life, birth rates will continue to plummet. This has always fascinated me: it seems that it's a rule of nature that as a society becomes more and more "open" and liberal, birth rates start to decrease, which means the society starts to die. So a certain level of closedness and conservatism is always needed to preserve a society. We need both wings to fly: right and left.

    • @Arthuriantimes

      @@yaghoubsharifi5686 lts not just that. The young need to see evidence that there will be future into which it's worth brinfing children into. My daughter and all her frends are very conservative minded but tbey are choosing not to have children because they believe the country they live in is declining rapidly. It's the same in nature too.

    He is mostly right apart from the fact that the Ukraine war is primarily not about territory, but security interests of Russia, not to mention Russia won't need colonists for its Novorossya project, those people are already Russian speakers and I suspect most of the Russian speakers in Southern and Eastern Ukraine will have little problem adapting to the new reality of living under the reborn Russian Empire.
    Taiwan is the same issue as Ukraine, it's a security questions above all from mainland China's perspective, they can't have an adverserial power their doorstep, next to their most important industrial zones and trade hubs on the shore who can invite the US, their peer competitor as an ally into any possible future conflict.

      China will still have adversarial powers on its doorstep even if it takes Taiwan. Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines are NOT going away, and they all have strong diplomatic/military relations with the United States. The cost of Taiwan would be tremendous. Who is China going to sell to or buy from if it alienates the entire West? Such an adventure by Xi would be the most costly vanity project in Chinese history, maybe in global history.

    I disagree with this for a couple of reasons:
    1. There are too many people in the world right now and not enough resources. People talk about the dangers of GMO's and pesticides and fertilizers but without them we wouldn't be able to feed the world. Some people also talk about how our carbohydrate rich diets are making us fat and unhealthy and I agree, but the reason for the carbohydrate rich diet s because of the population boom. Starchy products can be mass produced and last a long time, which is what you need to feed an exploding population. If there was less people in the future than everyone could eat organic healthy foods.
    2. What a lot of people are forgetting is the upcoming AI revolution. It is likely that robots will take over a lot of manual jobs and AI take over a lot of cognitive jobs so labour won't be needed as much in the future as it will now. Now when there's a population collapse humanity will struggle to take care of the elderly for one generation but after that I think things will get a lot better for people and there'll be more resources per person.
    The Islamization of the West can be stopped by European governments doing their damn job and controlling the borders! Poland does it, why can't other European countries do it? If Islamic and African populations explode in their own countries then it won't affect the West who'll have a better standard of living with more resources per person.

      Yes. Do the math. China 9 million births per year for 80 years and you'll have 720 million Chinese. That's optimistic. In reality birth rates will fall way below 9 million per year...most likely.

      That's a good question. I just checked on Wikipedia, but the thing is, probably even those official numbers are bigger than in reality.
      But honestly, I'm not sure about Nigerian numbers also because I've read somewhere that every Nigerian state counts more births than there are actually, especially if we consider high infant mortality rate ( some 5% dies until age 1).
      But I really think the difference will be minimal which is crazy because China has 6 times more people.
