Trimming can be a daunting garden task for some gardeners, others consider it a task of putting every bush into a lollipop shape. Come into my garden and let us talk about basic rules and reasons behind trimming.

That was very informative about pruning the overgrown bushes and helping to keep them healthy and lush. Thank you, Olga!

I love pruning! You're right; it's immediate gratification. Kind of like weeding. Your barberry and boxwood hedge look great!

Thank you for your wise knowledge. I have some young boxwood and I’ve always been reluctant to trim them. I will give them a good trim next year in the spring. I love your content. Please keep posting. Diana in zone 6 in northern New Mexico !

Hi Olga, I planted a cotoneaster hedge from seedlings last year. When should I start trimming them? They're only about 12-18" tall at this point. Thank you

Here I found a good answer to your question. It was asked originally at the beginning of April though.

Hello , Olga I am in CT. too . Love watching your videos about rose . I have 17 of them and always worried so much not to kill them. So far I loss one this year she was a couple of years old, in the beginning I saw some shuts and two weeks later they were dead . 💀 . I think I might of given it too much fertilizer and it was one of my favorite.TY.

I have green velvet boxwood and I think I got leaf miner form the mulch I bought form a garden center. I have them for about 30 years and this is the first time I’ve experienced this. I sprayed it with meen oil and a drop of liquid detergent. I decided to trim the back , they may not.look good it’s year , but it was better than losing them /
