This sounds so familiar. It sounds like home. The home I've loved, the home I've grown up in. It's tucked away in the depths of a valley in rural Wales. It's not big, the population no more than 600 at a guess, just barely a town. But I love it so much, and I yearn to go back. I miss the way the sun would peek over the edges of the valley, and if you wake up at the right time, you could take a path, that takes you from one end of the town to the other, through a cattle field. And you could see the foxes run and play, and the birds sing, and the pleasant rush of water. It wasn't much, and it wasn't perfect- it fell victim to the small-town quickly spreading gossip, and not everyone was pleasant. But it was home, and I love it. I can still feel the beams of sun filtering through the trees that hung over the path. I can still smell the crystal water and the nature, and if I listen close enough, I can still hear the crunch of gravel under my feet. Even the memory brings tears to my eyes. I have seldom been more affected by a song. It's beautiful.
