what made them blow up? honestly its their music. the lyrics in the songs they trying to say and comfort people with. even if we don't speak the same language, there's translation lyrics videos or people who can translate it for us instead that can make us understand. the way they bond with each other is so rare in kpop groups and they just love the fandom so much to a point they check up on us almost everyday as if we're friends. theyre so in sync in dancing which never fail to amaze people. bts is like a motivation to some like me, probably all armys. they're just, so inspirational, they always tell us to love ourselves even in songs they always write for the fans like "2!3!" or "Magic Shop". if you understand the lyrics from the Love Yourself album series, most of the songs they wrote are for the fans, to comfort us. their visuals, looks are just bonus bc other groups have good handsome pretty visuals too. but their music, the songs they wrote and produced by themselves about youth, mental health issues, social issues etc which is rare for kpop groups to sing about. thats why theyre on top rn. they speak on behalf of us, and people who can relate to them

I think the album that helped them blow up was wings like worldwide at least and in Korea it would’ve been hyyh series. Another reason they got so big is because the amount of content they give us like, mv, bts bombs, bts episodes, bts run, summer package etc. (Too much to list)

FYI, they actually don't have any restrictions in their contracts (i.e. dating, collaborations with other artists, etc) so they're basically free to date whoever and work with anyone and go anywhere that they want. K-pop is known for slave contracts that essentially tells the idols what they can and can't do, but BTS is truly an anomaly in the industry since their company doesn't try to control their lives. BigHIt Ent supports them and gives them the opportunity to choose their own path.

Every BTS comeback, most of the fans go to twitter and theorize what's happening in their music videos. Small details like the painting Jin was looking, the statue with wings, the candle, the german quote in the wall, etc have different symbolisms.
Blood, sweat and tears blew my mind after I read theories about it.
And also... one special thing that makes them unique: most of their music videos are connected and has one story line. That story line started in 2015(HYYH) and it's still on-going.
Their entire discography is like one ongoing novel. All songs are connected, very intricate, detailed, packed with stories within stories, but ultimately just delivering one very important message: you got to love yourself.

what made them blow up? honestly its their music. the lyrics in the songs they trying to say and comfort people with. even if we don't speak the same language, there's translation lyrics videos or people who can translate it for us instead that can make us understand. the way they bond with each other is so rare in kpop groups and they just love the fandom so much to a point they check up on us almost everyday as if we're friends. theyre so in sync in dancing which never fail to amaze people. bts is like a motivation to some like me, probably all armys. they're just, so inspirational, they always tell us to love ourselves even in songs they always write for the fans like "2!3!" or "Magic Shop". if you understand the lyrics from the Love Yourself album series, most of the songs they wrote are for the fans, to comfort us. their visuals, looks are just bonus bc other groups have good handsome pretty visuals too. but their music, the songs they wrote and produced by themselves about youth, mental health issues, social issues etc which is rare for kpop groups to sing about. thats why theyre on top rn. they speak on behalf of us, and people who can relate to them

They started getting bigger during dope era but they got big in America after Wings era: one of the most common reasons of why they got big is there lyrics as u know Yoongi and namjoon right deep meaningful lyrics in there music.
