- See the last inbound Coal working to Ratcliffe Power Station - Worked by 66781 which is to be renamed 'Ratcliffe Power Station' later today. See the loco approaching Toton through Stapleford.
Next up is a series of workings and light engine moves at Toton with a treble hit of class 69's - Including 69003, 69005 and 69011.
Sorry the camera work isn't as smooth as usual in this video - The gusts of wind were very strong making keeping the camera stable difficult on times.
Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching.

i love to see a grid flying about propper old-school locomotives! Good video 🥰
It ain't no grid its a 69! This is 2024 😂😂😂
On the coal train only the first 14 wagons loaded,so this ran to clear a stockpile, presumably at Immingham. It was burnt in the last day or so,so that's the end of coal in electricity generation. As a boy in the 1940,s growing up on the Cannock Chase coalfield you saw few retired healthy miners,if the dust didn't get them the smoking did,in fact some thought smoking helped to clear the dust by coughing. So no regrets on my part
24 coal wagons, that's impressive...
Brilliant.
A lot of class 60s hopefully in usable condition . Has the 60 scrap line increased. ?. Great video. Thank you.😊
Hi Tom, no further class 60’s added recently - Just the Land Recovery locos leaving the middle storage line in the last 2 weeks.
Excellent video as always 👍
Another good video, a question though, are the 69s conversions from UK built or Romanian built 56s. I'm thinking the former as the latter were troublesome.
You wouldn’t believe it over 20years ago. Amount of coal used from our mines !!
It’s history nowadays
Locos were going into Ratcliffe, Fiddlers, Rugeley, Willington, Ironbridge etc hourly back in the day.. A shame locos can’t find use in solar or wind power generation somehow.. 🤣🤣😜
Yes cl 60 were good.
But when thay had been designed they had better electronic control and extra semiconductor and passive component circuitry to protect same.
not long now before some hard working CL 66 locos will be on the SCRAP LINE ?
Fossil fuels rules!!
My home is not far away from the power station
great video matey i live very close to Toton & ratcliffe dont know where the lekky is coming from when ratcliffe stops generating at end of september ill have to get some more candles ready .🤣...it will take some replacing that will its the biggest in uk & the only coal fired P S left . syd
I’d imagine Drax will be filling the majority of the gap - Either that or it needs to get a lot more sunny or windy very soon! 😜🤣
Over the last 365 days, only 1.2% of the nation's electricity requirement was provided by coal. Wind power is currently the leading source of energy supply. (Source - National Grid:Live website).
Sandiacre not Stableford
Stapleford (Nottinghamshire) is just to the east of Sandiacre (Derbyshire). They are seperated by the railway, the river Erewash and the Erewash canal. Stapleford and Sandiacre station was served by a Nottingham - Sheffield via Erewash valley local service until closure at the beginning of Jan 1967.
Stableford is a location on the West Coast main line between Stafford and Madeley.
Too much golf 👌😜🙈
Can the stop oil mob suggest an alternative to fossil fuels? Wind and solar power won't cut it!!
