    It's a heavy saw but the oil reserves are massive so I like the saw for pulling a long bar. It's also nice to have the oil pump overrode to give the extras when needed. Great firewood saw.

    The 670 was my second saw I ever bought what seems like a lifetime ago, to this day a solid saw. About 5 years ago pickup the 680 and enjoy both very much

    My buddy who bought the 680 while I grabbed the 620 will be pleased that he can get that hog powered up right. Thanks DJ !

    Another good build Joe. With Echo staying well to the safe side it sure makes the gains nice. If I’m not mistaken I think they are the industry leader in warranty. So they stay way safe.
    Great gains 1.59 gain on the HP and .88 on the TQ! Great for 67cc
    Thanks for another great video!!

    I have a CS 680. They are heavy. Bought it with 27” bar. Normally use 20” so chains are cheaper and can find at box store. Manual oiler option and 5 year warranty is what sold me on it. They have good torque. Eventually I will want it improved and/or replaced by a CS 620P. Nice video!

    The compression on my cs-680 makes it a bear to pull - then again, I only have a few tanks of fuel through it. It is heavy, but that lends to the heavy duty nature of the saw. In lieu of going back up to a cs-800, I may send mine to you for a port job. The single ring on the piston was a surprise, though. I prefer double for longevity’s sake.

    Huh, the Echo CS620 in Dyno Joe's June 8, 2022 build has almost identical torque and HP as this CS680 build. You'd think that with the extra 7 CC you might get a little extra "juice" out of it. Anyways and as always, good job Joe.

      Amazing what you can do, longevity wise, when you skip the bad idea fairy on things like plastic crank bearing parts.
      Echo DOES make light saws - in the right sizes. 501p/4910.. 4310.. 2511.. etc
      But chances are if you need a BIG saw it's because you are going to do some real heavy work. Ill take the weight penalty to know I can beat on it a little.

      @@treebender261 My 60cc saw is a 620p. you are absolutely right. I've only had mine maybe a year but it has already helped me cut about 20 cords at 16". I haven't had a single problem that wasn't user induced.

    I need to look at your videos, and see what a stock 572 does vs this ported CS680. If it is up to the level of a stock 572 or close, than I'd call it a win.

  • @snoman1969
    @snoman1969 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've had both the 670 and 680. Heavy built like a tank torque monsters. Manual oiler is nice. Great air filter. The chassis has been around forever. Would be nice to see echo update it to accommodate larger twin spikes and a wrap handle but that's never gonna happen.

    the two rear oiler cover bolts sketched me out basically in the chains path I filed my down and cut flat slot for clearance I feel like the Chian hitting them couldn't be great I can't be the only one to notice it?

  • @bennyblanko3
    @bennyblanko3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Stock they kind of suck, heavy, pretty slow compared to a modern saw, or anything ported. But, with your gains, it would be a solid firewood saw. Either I have to port mine, or have you port it (I can't do machine work, so base gasket delete is all the compression I'll pick up, but that is probably good enough really. But, I never grab that saw, as it is now. My Jonsred 2260 smokes it, and is about 1/2 the weight (not really, but that is how it feels).

  • @jamessouth4776
    @jamessouth4776 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yeah I’ve got a 680 well made and solid except for the chain tensioner in the clutch cover, compared to the rest of the saw it’s a disappointment-weak plastic.

  • @giannisxepis3465
    @giannisxepis3465 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own a 6702 for fire wood.not good quality saws.chain tensioner broke,hand feed oil not working,full throttle button lost,bar very soft,the chain that came with was a joke,bolts come lose and rust,the side panel that hosts the clutch doesn't sit properly, lacking power and overall you can understand that the quality doesn't much olders echo or other brands more expensive.
