Marie’s genuine “where’s Matthew? When do we get to meet him?” was so funny
The delicious irony of it all
carlos's "that's too fun" will be the brenda's "dammit lee!" 😂😂
DON’T COME ANY CLOSER, LEE
@@fredarok579 DON'T HAVE TOO MUCH FUN, LEE EVERETT
"my partner Matthew"
Me: Ooooohh noooooooo
Marie: why won't they tell me where he is?
My heart dropped when he showed Clem the can... I made the connection once I saw that. Damn.
The "that's too fun" was timed and pitched so perfectly that, if it weren't for the subtitles, I would have legit thought Carlos was saying that. Also the reaction to the reunion was so pure, even if Kenny proceeded to remind everyone of how jerky he could be pretty quick. Man the last chunk of the episode was so intense, but I'm glad to have more Cragulor lore (Cragulore?)
It feels like a needle is pricking my heart every time Marie asks about Matthew.
17:15 I should've expected Brenda "DAMMIT LEE" St. John to make a come back. I'm also loving the Carlos "No fun allowed" bit.
SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE
I remember being with my friend when he played this and saw Kenny come back, I popped off so hard because I was going on for so long saying "we didn't see him die, he's still alive"
It also definitely took me too long to figure out who Matthew was, but once I did, MAN LMAO
I'm pretty sure Marie freaked out more over some of these dialogue options than most of the previous jumpscares/freaky walker situations and I'm so here for it. SO GOOD.
"This looks so pleasant, something bad is going to happen"
Perfectly sums up the walking dead
the endless cycle of The Walking Dead's storytelling: "if we actually work together, we can rebuild society. i mean look around us. things havent fallen that far!" and then the one guy of the group "yeah, but what if i want more than others?"
and then they all die because of the one dude staging a coup.
"Angel or star?"
Bento queen would like to have a word
Hearing Steve getting the giggles is genuinely the most adorable thing ever.
Wow, that was a whole bunch of simmering conflicts that got dealt with much faster than I expected. I mean, not in a good way.
“Silence can be a good option, right?”
Yeah! Just…..not with an emotionally distraught man holding a knife.
The "That's too fun" made me snort laugh at the gym today. 🤣 Probably sounded like I was having a medical emergency
spoilers for this ep if anyone is looking before they watch/

kennyyyyy 🥺🥺 it makes absolutely no sense for him to be alive but this part makes me so happy every time. he's one of my favorites from season 1, a problematic fav if you will lol. such a great character
He got lucky!
Absolutely. He's so toxic and iconic
The thing I’ve learned from these games is silence is never actually a good choice, unless you’re hiding on the rare occasion, at least in my opinion
Agreed. The game makes sure you know early that "silence is sometimes the right option" and then it basically never is. Not like it matters though because the game is going to railroad you into a lot of the important outcomes lol
I'm siiiiimply haaaaaaving a horrible christmastime
I never bought into the "sometimes the silence is the right answer" thing with these games
VERY rarely, if all the options felt like digging a bigger hole maybe lol
This season hits much harder than s1, imo. It feels like the pacing is just cranked up to 11 to where it feels more hopeless and numbing. Maybe that's the point but it's a little less enjoyable imo, not enough time to breathe.
for sure, there's definitely a different tone. i think it makes sense for a follow up, especially from the point of view of a child who's been hardened and forced to grow up too fast. idk if that makes sense, but the vibes feel suitably BLEAK AS HELL for what's being portrayed. i have to agree with you though, i much prefer season 1. it's just as dark as this season and probably more so at times, but there's a strange aspect of comfort and warmth to it that season 2 lacks.
Where is Matthew? Is he safe? Is he….
You know, it wasn't clear.🤔
I super don't remember much from when I watched over my friend's shoulder when these came out but the vibes of all the options being bad sometimes is the same. The catch 22 of so many scenarios hurt my middle school heart back in the day ❤😂
I now fully understand Jay's warning at the start of this playthrough. I'll make sure to have my permission slip ready for the feels trip tomorrow, guys.
Marie the fence-sitter lmao
every adult in this game: "hey little girl it'll be easier for you to do this dangerous job than me"
every adult irl: "that's too dangerous for kids, you stay here while I do it"
"This is pleasant, something bad is going to happen." Fable 2 flashbacks.
A Horrible Christmastime for Clementine would have been the perfect title 🤣
I really enjoy this series! It's exciting to get to experience this game for the first time with you guys. Hopefully it goes better than the until dawn playthrough although that was exciting!
Spoilers for the episode:
Matthew being Walt’s partner was why Clem made the strange face when he showed her the peaches-since those were the same peaches Matthew had in his house.
If you convince Walt that nick is a good guy, he does save him. Nick looks immensely like someone I know irl so I did everything in my power through the entire playthrough to keep him alive LMAO. I won’t say what happens to him if he lives for spoiler reasons though.
Alvin can die here too actually, so I suppose I traded him for Nick 😔
I'm not American so maybe I'm misundetstanding, but isn't Georgia known for its peaches? If the devs chose the peaches thing as a reference to Clementine being from Georgia that's kinda cute hehe

I think it’s just a plot device to show that they had the same peaches in both the shack and the lodge, to foreshadow who Matthew is
Fun fact! South Carolina actually produces more peaches than the peach state!
the only person to hug kenny
55 MINUTES W
Potential SPOILERS ? Idk I’m guessing and I think I’m right
Matthew is definitely that nice guy they shot on the bridge 😭
This game reminds me of the stress dreams i have where i KNOW something bad is going to happen
Oooh Sungwon's evil chuckle returns
Marie is a much gentler soul than I, very interesting seeing her reactions/choices. Shes too innocent lol
Min/Max Marie. Minimizing survivors, maximizing death.
Did they record this like, 6 or 7 months in advance? That’s a wild backlog!
yeah they've always had a really deep backlog. Not going to get a lot of topical jokes on this channel, but on the other hand we're safe in the knowledge there's a whole lot of episodes in the pipe lol
My thoughts on this video:

7:10 Lion King, but it’s dark! 😂

Probably should've had nick tell tell them him the truth.....

I'm at that moment when Walter has found Matthew's knife, and I kind of love that this happens.
Walter has been nice and very generous so far, including giving out supplies to the woman peering into the house. Which is why it's very interesting to see how he reacts when he figures out that Clementine's group probably killed Matthew; he justifiably becomes enraged and you can see him being steeped in a kind of tranquil fury which in some ways is more scary than full-blown shouting.
I remember chocolate. Sweet, sweet chocolate... 5:40
I know I played S2 but like Steve said I fully do not remember it compared to S1 so everything for the most part is as surprise for me too, which is more fun anyway. 😭 woof
The fact that Walter and Matthew are apparently openly a couple makes me sideeye any of the characters that called them "friends". And it makes
Kenny's homophobic comment (and apparent dislike of Walter, though I grant that could just also be a "he's too nice" thing) 100% worse.
20:20 Sungwon's self time stamp (2 minutes prior to when he stated, as he said 'two minutes ago')
These characters really ought to take better care of their health. I doubt the food they're eating is organic. Also, no barefoot shoes? And no coconut oil toothpaste? They're going to mess up their oral microbiome. And during a zombie post apocalypse of all contexts!
oh lawd she screamin
18:21 did I just hear something fun
🤭
I know its just a game, and I genuinely hate when people say "you should have chosen X, Y, Z" but... marie really had no reason to lie to Walter....
It's weird how Marie's ethics are so inconsistent on this playthrough. She will be honest and also not want to start drama with people, but she makes these weird choices sometimes.
She's panicking over which option(s) to pick... I get it, there is a timer... but lying to walter was a literal "Marie...wtf?!"
I have to agree on this one 😅
She lets all the assholes walk over Clem by being too nice or acting like it's her fault...
Nick straight up murders a guy in cold blood and she still plays it down...
Then a really nice guy comes along and is completely reasonably upset and yet still calm... And that's the point she decides to lie to someone's face?
I don't mean to throw shade at Marie here, I just don't think her moral compass is equipped to deal with season 2's narrative and theme...
It's going to be interesting and/or infuriating to watch the last arc of this season
@@xproflipscarab It's a video game. Marie''s ethics and moral compass have nothing to do with it because these are fictional characters she's interacting with, not real people. And it's actually pretty consistent if you see it as Clemarie trying to keep herself alive. Being nice will prevent conflict nd lying all makes sense if you're trying to stop a dangerous conflict.. Also she did react to Nick murdering in cold blood? Confused what you're watching.
I feel like it's a problem with the game itself, the choices sometimes are so black and white that there's no middle ground, I can understand why Marie would lie to Walter, because any normal person wouldn't just immediately jump to the conclusion Nick did it, to lie is to diffuse a tense situation, though immoral but it can avoid conflict at the moment, obviously in a realistic way the issue needs to be resolved later but the game isn't intelligent enough to do that, it doesn't offer a morally grey choice, Clementine doesn't have to be moral compass all the time.
So why do you talk over the next time on? It doesn't really spoil anything. Sometimes rhe scenes arent even actually im the episode
They aren't heavy spoilers exactly but there's no point to them when all the episodes are out and they're playing one after the other. They want Marie to experience things as they happen, not anticipating particular moments. Doesn't really matter but it's a funny bit imo
10:27 Is this music diegetic, or did you add it in postproduction? 🦻🏻🎶
It is part of the game
