I have been comparing this to the xTool M1. They are similar in price, but the M1 can have upgrades to add additional functionality. The Aura does have the pass through slot though. About those “proof-grade” materials…they are expensive so take that into account, especially if you are thinking about business profits. Yes, you can use other materials, but you will need to figure out the settings for them yourself. Before you decide, do your homework.
A very poor choice ... cheaply made, low diode power, slow speed, wifi dependent, monthly fee. The only good think I can say about it is their great customer service ... you will need that ... a lot! Any 10 watt laser engraver would be a better and cheaper choice for you.
I purchased and am so excited! I originally could not afford the Pro version nor had the space to accommodate the size but this is perfect! Only downfall I would say is that I keep seeing it can't cut clear or mirror acrylic? Do you know if that is accurate?
Yayy!! I’m so happy for you! I agree, this sizs is perfect! Yes, it can’t cut those but other color acrylics it can. I just cut thin black acrylic and I’m using for a project coming up! 😉
It was easy to clean. I actually took the grid out, and used a wet paper towel to clean it. It came right off. I should have showed that in the video as well.
Ooh I forget! I think it was about 45 mins to 1 hour. I cut out 4 at once and I had my speed set on the slower side (at 15) so it can be super precise, but the power was on 10. Plus this was my first time using it. I’m still getting used to all the settings! But I LOVE the coasters and my family is using them! Which is great! 😂
@@DIYbyNikyFoster I assume that this person was referring to the massive issues people are having, mostly the alignment / accuracy problem that can also be a fire hazard. Apparently this was a known issue even in prerelease versions, yet they released it anyway. Check the CNET review...the reviewer is on his third unit, and CNET now says they don't recommend the Aura due to the numerous problems they have encountered in testing. My third unit arrives Friday, and I really don't have high hopes. We are all unwitting beta testers for this thing. This is a flawed product that never should have been released, and the inability to return it is ridiculous. The problem is made worse by influencers who sweep the issues under the rug, when people should be warned not to waste their time or money. There should be a class-action suit.

What happens if you took off the masking tape before watching a video, realizing you weren't supposed to? 😢
It may still cut. I think it just helps with precision! I would try cutting it to see if it works!

I have not tried yet, but I’ve seen other people use it for engraving. For cutting, thin materials work best.

You can use the air filter or filter through the window. Venting is a must though!
