Amanda Holden, the female judge, is a professional singer and actress herself which is why Susan was so proud and stunned by her praise. Susan Boyle herself has gone onto great stardom with several albums, a performance before the Queen and she is now worth millions. From all reports, she has always been a sweet unassuming woman and remains that to this day. But she was already a legend in her hometown, everyone knew she could sing as she did but had never done so outside of there. My favorite judge reaction here is from Amanda as she crooks her finger when Susan sings the word "shame". Because as a professional singer, Amanda knows this song. It's a very famous song from a very famous musical. And she knows that word, starting on a low note than rolling into a high note, is the toughest part of the song. When she crooks her finger at that moment, she's anticipating Susan will crush it, and when Susan does, Amanda gives her a standing ovation.
Simon was smiling because he saw dollar signs in his head. Simon and Susan went on to produce several albums and Susn is now a multi-millionaire and has remained the same humble person she has always been.
Haha yes! I always thought the same. He knows right away there's a few quid to be made. Then later, he's got his head in his hands, looking shocked, and the smile spreads sllowly back. I reckon that's the moment when he realised, not just a few quid, it's going to be f@!k loads!

I seen this live when it first hit the tv, and it makes me proud to be Scottish, knowing she only lived 7 miles from me, she was amazing and have seen this over 500 times but still brings tears to my eyes.

IMO "Les Misérables" is the best musical score ever written. Every song is just amazing and Susan sure did it justice.
I would say this was the single greatest moment in this talent competition - in any country.

One of the most respectable things about Susan is that when she became the global superstar she remains, she never became a pompous, strutting, arrogant entitled diva. If anything, she became even more humble, more sweet, and displays an attitude of gratitude to her fans. She is grounded, real, and such a sweet woman. That makes me love her even more!!!! One doesn't have to become obnoxious, vulgar, and contentious as too many entertainers are, to be a legend. Susan proves that decency, kindness, gratefulness, and meekness can bring a person quite far in life. She is the better example to point young girls to than the trashy acting stars in America!

When I see this Susan Boyle audition, it also reminds me of the Paul Potts audition from 2007 singing Nessa Dorma. Both of them were amazing singers and an unexpected surprise when they performed.

Susan, became an over night star, she coupld not handle, the press and stuff, nearly left the show, basicly went into hiding for a few days. She after the show became a world wide sensation, sang for the pope, as well as many others.

the reason i say this, is that susan is now multi milliomare, but still lives in the same house, basicly what we call a 2 up 2 down modest little house, she spent a few quid of her wealth and had the kitchen done.

Les Miserables is where she said this is from. its a sad song about how their life didnt turn out the way they wanted. At a later date she gets to sing a song with Elaine Page... the woman that she aspired to be as famous as. It was so heartwarming to see someone's dream come true.
When she was walking away after she was done singing I bet she was thinking "I came, I saw, I conquered!" That she did. She showed 'em all! You go girl!!!

This beautiful soul wanted to be a singer so bad when she was young,but ended up being carer to her parents,she was a loner an had a dream,then at the ripe agd of 47 that dream came to fruition,she was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome also ,hence her actions,but like myself shes scottish an we do have a crazy sense of humour that only scottish people relate too,,she still lives in the council house she grew up in as a kid despite being worth about 40+million,shes no kids an never been married,so the state will get her money when she dies ,but hopefully she donates most of it as she has no family..i still get goosebumps you should listen to more of her stuff shes awesome..🏴🏴❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🏴🏴
Coming 2nd in the contest was the best thing that could have happened,wasn't tied down to a contract but Simon gave her a lot of help in her career,she did get to sing with Elaine Page and actually bought the state house that she grew up in.

Yes, I can watch this video over and over and still brings a tear to my eyes.....the story as I know it is that she nursed her Mom all her life, loved to sing, and promised her Mom that she would be a Star one day....She has always had emotional issues and you see that she is childlike....I love her to pieces and wish I had the vocals that she has! then song is from the Musical Play Les Miserables'...Later made into the movie Moulin Rouge, if I am right....since its been a year since you watched this, I hope I didn't sound too repetitive...but she made Millions on her 2 Albums....What a dream come true for her...and yes, she is Scottish...OH and to point out, Simon wasn't rolling his eyes at her age...some idiot in the crowd wolf whistled her and so she responded with her cheeky action and comment.....Thanks for "listening" 🥲

There were 2 comedians and as part of the act they invited to audience members, a male and a female, onto the stage ( picked by a restaurant employee ). The comedians sang a song and gave instructions to their guests to sing when they pointed to them. The male sang and they had jokes for how bad he was. The woman had to sing "Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral Too-ra-loo-ra-li". They were unawares that she was the head singer in her church choir her perfect performance they couldn't stopped their jokes.

When you see her on AGT Champions 9 years later you will see what a classy hymble lady she is.

I loved the outfit she wore. It was probably the nicest thing she owned and a lot more effort than a lot of people put into their appearances on these shows. Even wore nylons/hosiery (way too dark) but she tried. She seems like an incredible lady...and she eventually got to perform with Elaine Page, too!

Grandma? She’s never even been married. I’m 62 and I’m not a grandma. Don’t judge people by their looks or age which is what Susan’s audition taught people.
I like how you are open to all genres of music. I was probably the same as you when I was younger, preferring a limited range of music and artists. I don't know if you have come across any Australian artists, but I would like to suggest an artist for your introduction to the Australian music scene; John Farnham is an iconic Australian artist and consummate entertainer, he is slowly gaining recognition overseas through You Tube reaction channels. Australian artists are best when they perform live. Check out John's version of The Beatles classic song Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Other Australian artists to check out are Jimmy Barnes, Olivia Newton John, Tina Arena and the iconic group The Seekers. I am now discovering artists and genres that I hadn't previously through the reaction channels. Thank you for your time and effort to bring these artists and genres.
