Hey Steve! Awesome playing here and hats off to Adam, Bob and Hamilton for such an amazing performance. I'd like to ask, what Ride cymbal are you using in this gig? It sounds really great! :)
Warning"Adam Rogers doesn't have a clue about how to teach its the same for lots of players in NYC. They just are desperate to make a few bucks so they will probably take you as student. Please don't waste your time /energy and most importantly your money. Do a deep research about who truly is a good teacher . Now Adam Rogers "out 10 l will give him a 4". Don't waste your time and money. Good luck and God bless you.
True... Some amazing players don't communicate nor convey lesson worthy information that would result in a measurable progression. May I ask - What sort of style a player are you (i.e. genre, era, etc)? What was it about the lesson(s) that didn't appeal to you?
@@keithboddy Adam Rogers is not only a terrible teacher he is a not very person either. That my expirence and my overall feel. Of course I could be completely wrong and good or bad it's extremely subjetivo when comes to judging people. But yes he is zero when comes to emotional intelligence and teaching wisdom. Terrible man.
Hey, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience. Some folks may say that about my teaching. Some teachers convey ideas, and not everyone understands it. Some teachers are incredibly gifted players and never had to analyze in depth in order to teach certain concepts to those with less of a gift. That doesn't make the person a bad teacher, it makes them not a great teacher for YOU. I had some teachers at Berklee i did not like and others I connected with. But they're all great. In any case, we're not here to talk about teaching skills. Thank you!
Few years ago I was studying with Adam for little less than 3 years almost on a weekly basis and I disagree whole heartedly. He is perhaps one of the best teachers I’ve had. Taught me more about improvisation than anyone else. Everyone has different experiences but I think it’s not good to judge solely based on one’s own experience. If one is going into the room as a student, I believe one has to have student mindset. Which is an open mind to take and digest everything the teacher has to say.
