Grassy terrain boost is applied before the game even checks for abilities that affect damage so by the time Technician checks the damage, the move will already be above 70 damage

Completely unrelated but I absolutely adore that rillaboom Sprite, I just like the way he looks looking like an actual gorilla and not human in a gorilla suit

@salvadorhernandes3257 rillaboom's in game model and battle pose is off putting. It looks like a human in a suit. The sprite in this video has it in a more natural looking "gorilla" hunched over pose which just looks nicer imo

I want Dual Wingbeat to return, so that in the hopes that one day if Aerodactyl returns it can make use of a vicious dragon dance set!
I hope that Aerodactyl will finally get access to Brave Bird.
That way, the Rock Head Ability will finally have a use.
@@rayqcina4869 bro that's all I've wanted for so long. With the state of power creep at the minute it wouldn't even that horrific if he got Brave Bird. Also, if we got the likes of wild charge and flare blitz, they would be huge for him too. Since he can already use the elemental fangs is it really a stretch to say he can't use those too?

@@rayqcina4869 Radical Red had a good compromise - you could get an Aerodactyl with Brave Bird & Headlong Rush, which makes contact so it is boosted by Tough Claws as well. Honestly, it makes Aero one of the most frightening Megas in the game, one turn of Dragon Dance is all you need to wreck shop lol - and assuming you don't Mega you still have Rock Head brave birds flying around lol
Wild Charge with Terra Electric + Dragon Dance + Rock Head would go pretty damn hard to be fair. It would mean he could nail the Bulky waters that might otherwise withstand his damage!

Imagine Breloom with Grassy Glide.
Why breloom? Its 70 base power, right? So it isnt technician boosted and breelom has an attack that is barely higher than rillaboom's AND breloom cant set grass terrain on a switch.

Oh, im dumb. Still therr is the posibility that rillaboom can not learn grassy glide this gen, maybe it will be able for Tapu Bullu now. That would at least be interesting since Bullu has a lot more weaknesses than Rillaboom and cam not learn Fake Out.

I'll be crying tears of happiness. Scald is actually my favorite move in the game. It's so unique as it's boiling water so it's a water move that burns!

The fact that it hits harder than choice band rillaboom but without a choice band...
problem is you gotta have terrain set up for grassy glide to be priority so i don’t think it’ll be as good as you may think
So I tested it on showdown with trailblaze scizor. The terrain bonus goes BEFORE technician, so it wouldn’t actually be 60*1.5*1.3 = 117 BP, it would be 60*1.3 = 78 BP which is too strong for technician.
As far as I could find Technician does not take into account any base power modifiers

It was my understanding that only moves with variable base power like grassy knot can lose their technician boost because it makes the move itself have more than 60 base power. Terrain boosts the power of moves similar to rain and sun. Wiki says from Gen 5 and onward, technician is no longer effected by modifiers, and terrain should count as a modifier.

Scale shot garchomp was the most stupid set this pokémon ever runned, it clearly deserves better than this gimmicky move. Hope it receives extreme speed instead, it's literally in its pokedex description

A bulky Tera Rock set with Meteor Beam, Cosmic Power, Recover and Toxic would be super fun. Maybe not good, but fun.

They could rebalance who gets it since I'm sure there is a reason SV had every move coded but not put into move pools
We saw Milotic use it in one of the trailers, so maybe.
All they need to do is lower the bp and burn chance. Scald does too much damage for the stall move that it is which allowed too many offensive Pokémon to run it. And 30% burn shouldn’t be more common on water type than fire type. Chilling water was the right step. I think if chilling water had a whirlpool effect it might have been a suitable replacement.
@@kevinstephenson3531 scald is not getting nerfed. It's either back or not back and I remember seeing confirmation of it coming back, tho it could be flawed.

The 2 other tms i want to comeback are triple axel and defog, triple axel so just mainly weavile can comeback a little bit and defog because there are really few ways to remove hazards in Ou

i actually run tera blast ghost, it's really good but there's probably better uses for terastalization

Welp, Time for technician Breloom to learn grassy glide, since it’s 60 Bsp now.
I do hope Weather Ball comes back as a TM. So that I don’t have to waste a Tera let’s say for example Tera Fire Venusaur with Tera Blast just to have Fire Coverage. Plus Weather Ball was a fun move to experiment with different Pokemon that was in Gen 8.

If the Isle of Armor tutor moves are coming back then that should mean Flip Turn will become more common. I don't know much about VGC but I'd imagine Corrosive Gas and Misty Explosion could also mix things up.

I would love to see dragapult have access to poltergeist since its only other physical ghost move previously was a 2 turn move, and effectively rendered its ghost typing offensively obsolete.

Scorching sands is my favourite to come back. Triple axel was maybe a little too strong and ice spinner works well enough anyway. I want lash out to be back for Bisharp. To give a good stab with synergy to defiant.

You have to take into consideration that Rillaboom MIGHT NOT learn Grassy Glide through TM. Just because they learned it in the past doesn’t mean they will have it now (looking at Weavile not having Throat Chop)
Rillaboom is again top 3 vgc and singles threat in the game. Grassy Glide is still his best stab grass move and he got High Horsepower back 😂

It’s in the game for delphox, it’s a learn set issue not a not in the game issue
@@Enjinercraftsylveon lost mystical fire because the tm was removed. Delphox can learn it because it's their level up move.
Rillaboom definitely has potential in ou, especially with some of the pokemon it threatens. With a Choice Band, Drain Punch is a guaranteed ohko on Kingambit unless King teras, Grassy Glide is a guaranteed 2hko on offensive utility Great Tusk, with almost a 20% chance to ohko outright without using tera, Nasty Plot Gholdengo is ohko'd by Knock Off, can OHKO Iron Valiant with tera grass, and threatens Ting-Lu and Hisuian Samurott.
I just hope dragapult get poltergeist this time around so we dont have to be stuck with phantom force. A man can dream.
