This song is as if you took one of those incredible pre-choruses (in the songs where you end up wanting a whole song in the style of that pre-chorus) and then actually made a song out of it.
It felt like it was swiftly and smoothly creeping right along the rope of anticipation. Not sure if that makes sense, but I don't know how else to describe it.

The video is Stephen Kings, The Shining theme so what is written on the wall and with silver ware must be read backwords! "Rilas" backwards is "Salir", which in spanish means "get out" or they could be using it in the video to mean "Run". I love the song and the video so much, I would love to watch my favorite horror movies with Purple Kiss
So glad for the explanation! I was feeling this was a redrum reference but had no idea what this word meant backwards. The closest alternative I could get was a scramble of 'liars.'

This title track is so unique from other kpop songs but fits Purki's concept and sound. Their vocal is super unique. Wow hopefully they can get their first win with this. 😊
The song was mainly produced by Lyre btw. They have a TH-cam short with a little behind story about the song. It was originally produced as a promotional song for another artist but they then decided to use another song. After that they thought they'd have to abandon sweet juice until rbw showed interest and now we're here.
Absolutely stunning song. The only title tracks that gave me a similar feeling were Deja Vu by dreamcatcher and Hwaa by idle. Therefore at least top 3 best title tracks of all time for me

Such a good single from them. I also was weirded out when the title ‘sweet juice’ was announced, so Im delighted they actually leaned into that discomfort by so delicately treading the line between sensual and creepy.
What I really love about purple kiss is that Swan gets the screen time she deserves because of her skill, stunning vocals and beauty. Other bands (or rather their managements) have failed to do so with girls who had a similar body type.

I slept waaaaaaay too hard on this when it first released, I just got distracted by a bunch of other releases but honestly this has easily become my favorite release this year and honestly one of my favorite releases of all time. It’s rivaling for a spot with Number 9 by T-ara which is my favorite group of that generation and one of the first groups I ever followed closely. Purple Kiss is an icon of this generation and an legend in the making in the history of K-pop.

Agree 100% that it's their best release to date. This is PK coming to fulfill what I expected from their debut. In the future, even changing the concepts and themes, I really wish RBW producers keep the fundamentals of what worked in Sweet Juice: melodies and production that highlight their vocal tones, fair line distribution and this elegant/eerie sound (that makes them stand out from other gg).
MemeM is still my fave because I like more aggressive sounding music, but this is just magical. It's hypnotic, and the choreo formations are incredible and unique. They all look INCREDIBLE too - the styling and makeup is IMMACULATE. Chaein is my bias, but I got wrecked hard by all of them. Swan looked SO EXPENSIVE and Yuki's makeup made her look so ethereal. I'm in awe.
Also, the b-side Autopilot? Right after Killer? 80s Kids are thriving right now.

The whole album has no skip, again. They are seriously amazing TT Autopilot and agit are my favorite bsides, but all of them are so good. Sweet juice is legit their best title so far. I LOVE it. Even their intro "save me" is one of my favorite from them. Crown is close tho ahah

The mv is completely 'the Shining' coded, littered with references. But Rilas is Salir backwards which means "get out", explaining them constantly trying to escape the black witch in the mv!!

The line distribution for this song feels like it was actually split 6 even ways instead of split 5 ways and one of those 5 ways split between Jieun, Dosie, and Ireh lol
As far as the "rilas" motif, this video has a lot of The Shining references, so if we read it backwards it's "salir," which in Spanish means "to leave." That is a possible theory for what it means.

I feel that this is so much more mature than previous title tracks and I'm loving it! Reminds me of Mamamoo when they reached the Decalcommanie era.
I'm honestly glad that RBW is allowing Jieun post on their Twitter page so regularly. Ravn is another issue. But it at least shows that she was not kicked out neither did she want to quit or anything like that

This is by far my favorite comeback from them. I don't know if I like it more than Ponzona, but it's so good. I loved the sound of Ponzona and this feels like the closest we've gotten to that sounds since then.

Okay, for the song... After ZOMBIE, this has to be my new favorite song from them. I think they are sticking to the creepy vibe that Ponzona and memeM started, which makes me wonder the end of the year tracks are their more fun ones (like Zombie and Nerdy. We'll see if this is a trend).

Yeah, Sweet Juice IS Purple Kiss' best song. ZOMBIE used to be my favorite, and at the time of writing this I thought the freshness of Sweet Juice might me swaying me. But after time has gone be, Sweet Juice is the OBVIOUS best song. In fact, I think it should be in consideration for Song of the Year. I know we had some major bops already, while I'm in love with them, I think Sweet Juice has held up so well.
(Also, yeah, I was right. Sweet Juice is the creepy offering this year, 7Heaven is the fun one)

That chorus is growing on me a bit, wasn't a bit fan of the first chorus initially, it was the second chorus that hooked me from the medley. I do agree this might be their best title track, personally I still love Ponzona and really really like memeM, but the theatrical quality of this song and how that chorus reminds me of Lady Gaga - Poker Face just send me through the roof

The sweeeeet juiiiiiice slide reminds me in some way of the Britney Spears Poison, it has that kind of instant hook effect.
And yes, the entire song has a sensual seductive vibe to it. Partly also because of the almost primal very repetitive bass drum beat. Who wouldn't want to be swept of their feet being bewitched by a coven of witches sounding and looking like them.
EFF bands that need to constantly have a 180BPS to make something sound exciting. THIS is how you do it, the production is gorgeous and then the voices of the members..... get a bucket and mop me up.
The slide reminded me of “I’m A Slave 4 U”! Also, LYRE did mention in a reel that Toxic’s one of the inspirations along with “Buttons” by Pussycat Dolls and “Pusher Love Girl” by JT.
Overall, i loved the song for it’s 2000s sound which brought me back to producers like Timbaland and Danja.

@@ferdinando723 Yes! :) Each member has a beautiful and unique vocal tone.. aside from that, all of them are great dancers, and they have amazing stage presence. You may check their other works and covers.. Their concepts are uncommon, that's probably the reason why other people aren't keen on them, but talent-wise, they don't deserve to be slept on because they are top-tier rookies. Hope you'll support them as well.
I have to admit first listen didn't really grab me, I liked it just fine, but I felt like it was missing something.The rest of the album was a lot more instant (shout out to Autopilot & Agit who are currently living rent free on repeat in my head) but having now listened to it a lot I find I notice something new each listen & it's almost as if it's a completely different song from the one I heard this morning and I'm really liking it a lot now.

This is a really good title track but they missed the chance to change the key after the telephone scene. Buuuut this is not my favorite song. It's Autopilot. Please check out this masterpiece of a b-side. However, Dosie is an ace. Still sad that our gummy bear left :(
