      Kane scored 50 goals for Bayern. Bellingham Spanish player of the year - with a higher goals per game ratio than Cristiano Ronaldo. Foden PL player of the year. We have the players, it was the coach at fault (who is league one at best). Get Tuchel in. Ten major trophy wins, former world coach of the year, no compensation to pay out. He will command his technical area and manage the players far better than Southgate ever could. Southgate just sat there praying for miracles.

      @@treble20 All 3 are brilliant players. But Kane at Munich will always scores goals if the system they play suits him and the chances he will get. Bellingham at one of 2 clubs who will always have the top player award. He had a great start but in the new year perhaps after teams learn about him he was nowhere near as effective and not many goals. Foden is my favorite but he plays in a unique system City play, he learnt from youth. No one else can play that way. Can he be as effective consistently in other set ups?

    Absolutely spot on John Barnes. England fans and pundits expectations are unrealistic due to them over hyping the players ability, and underestimating the quality of other nations. • @madtingsadting
      @madtingsadting 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quantify how they are “overrated” when Kane has scored 40+ goals in Germany, Bellingham has scored 20+ from midfield in la liga, Foden one of if not the best midfielders in the premier league last season scoring best part of 20 goals. I’m not massive on rice I must admit but to say they are overrated, the facts don’t add up.

    • @kol9382
      @kol9382 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@madtingsadtingmany see Bellingham as the best or one of the best midfielders in the world and use his goal stats in la liga to justify when he's been playing as a false 9 for the most dominant team in Spain by a mile, so he's obviously gonna get more goals playing higher. If you watch the games though, he is very limited for a midfielder technically as highlighted during the euros. He's a dele Alli frank lampard type, gets into the box. But nowhere near the elite. Kane same thing, scored plenty goals but his performances especially on the big occasion for years has been underwhelming. Foden is a terrific footballer but he's playing for the best manager & the best team, he's only really shown glimpses for England. Good players, but to think they're the best squad of players in Europe is naïve.

    Southgate analysis is simple. 1. He must be respected and praised for achieving more than any England manager since Alf Ramsey; 2. He's a class act and gentleman in the way he unified the team, managed the players and media; 3. He resigned with dignity at the exact right time as he's taken us as far as we can go; 4. The negative, defensive style of football he employed is simply not appropriate for the best attacking options we've had for generations; 5. We now need a manager that can create a system and environment that actually maximises our world class players' talents so we can see the best of Bellingham, Foden. Oh and who picks based on form and performance, not favouritism or brand.

Regardless if we are the best or not England never turned up and that is on the Manager, ultimately he is in charge. If you get bad customer service in a business you don't ask for the next assistant, you ask for the manager. You assume they are in charge and responsible for the training and quality of service the staff are giving. As a Leicester fan I know you can win things on grit and determination and playing as a team, and not just who has the best players.

    Some people are celebrating, yet they should hold their horses and be careful what they wish for.
    Southgate has raised standards and expectations. Under Southgate England has gone deep into tournaments. There is now an expectation to win and het to finals. If the next man doesn't qualify or get out of the group-stage, people will be crying out for Southgate in a few years time! There will have to be pragmatism at times, not all teams can merely be turned over.
    In terms of the new manager:
    If English, has to be: Eddie Howe or Carsley.
    If non-English: Klopp (though doubtful he would ever take, as he wants to relax, so no idea why his name is being constantly thrown into the mix).
    No way Lampard, Rooney or Gerrard. They have poor man-management and inter-personal skills.
    No way: the Argentian Pochettino.

    He finished mid-table in his one season at Swansea, who, incidentally, got to the play-offs in the two seasons after he left, his Premier League win percentage at Brighton was very similar to Chris Hughton's and, like Swansea, Brighton were better off without him and he had a nightmare at Chelsea and has been out of work for about 18 months!
