We were only in Australia for 10 days last year making of way back to Europe from NZ and we were upset we didn't visit Adelaide. We'll just have to come back! Thanks for showing us around 😊
It's so nice to see the trees growing in Rundle mall haven't been there for a long time but that place is sacred to me as a busker. They pulled them out because the council wanted to have a view of the Adelaide Hills but no one actually stood in the mall and had a look there was a great big building blocking the view in the foot hills
I love the Walk along North Terrace, past Governmnet House, State Library, Musuem, Art Gallery and Adelaide University. Plenty to see in Adelaide by foot!
thans for posting, it was fun to watch familiar sights...although a lot of it has really declined in interesting owner operated shops, like the Old Map Shop in Bank Street, and the Theatre Costume shop (replaced by Karaoke shop). Bank Street used to have a Sotheby's as well, where you could take antiques and collectables for valuation. It is sad to see the chain shops take over... making every city look the same.
@@scottie3083 Why is that? I'm a bit nervous too because I'm from Russia, despite all struggles I wanted to move Australia from my young childhood and work for my profession as a marine biologist, I'm thirty and single🤗 I on my final stage of waiting processing visa for 3 months...hope they will process faster than a year..🙏
Though I was born and spent the first 21 years of my life in Brisbane, I never managed to visit Adelaide. Thanks for the video, looks a very pleasant city. Of course it suffers from all the same boring global names, E.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken, Subway, McDonalds, etc etc but it’s not alone there. I miss the individuality of Australian cities.
@cameronpaul sadly this video while well photographed, only takes in the well trodden pathways of the Mall and nearby streets. Its getting more interesting as it heads now to North Terrace, Art Gallery, University. etc. The East End comes alive during the Fringe Festival which has just started, so that was not covered in this video. Thats got funky shops, cafes, great vibe during feb and march. They also missed the Central Market Precinct which is a bit longer walk from the Mall... Chinatown is there, there's plenty to see. Japanese Gardens, Botanic Gardens (back towards the Fringe site) and the East End...
Not me wanting to give you direction whilst watching 😂 like noooo shoulda turned right there instead of left! 😂 love this video thank you

woops, looks like the other side of the street was skipped over (Gallery, Museum and huge dinosaurs etc)
good quality busking has fallen off in the Mall lately, too... I guess it will recover eventually
it's okay but not a patch on melbourne or sydney. even brisbane.
