Am I the only one who gets nervous when there isn't a Packet Trace video from this channel. I was doing an assignment Packet Tracer 5.4.13 without a video and I was surprised I got through it. I am am grateful for this channel, and I really mean that.
Gotta love packet tracer, for the branch to hq ACL I had listed the .32 network before the .0 network and Im thankful for your content verifying I was doing it right and its just packet tracer being absurdly picky
HQ(config)#access-list 111 deny ip any host 192.168.2.45 Why you put here: any if it is mentioned that: no hosts on HQ LAN 1 I put: HQ(config)#access-list 111 deny ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.63 host 192.168.2.45 I am kind of confused
@@Igoudala0 "any", in this case, means that traffic from all sources are caught by this ACE. Since we only apply this ACL to inbound traffic on the G0/0/0 interface of the HQ router, the only inbound traffic will be from the hosts on HQ LAN 1 anyway. While specifying the network address and wildcard would work, this packet tracer exercise states to "use shorthand (host and any) whenever possible".
I spent a good 45 minutes trying to get the 101 and 111 ACLs right, looks like I was over thinking it by trying to create an extended ACL. Really appreciate the video, finally managed to understand where I was going wrong :-)
It's curious because in the video, in ACL 111 it's correctly typed, really and in PT activity says use "Host" and "any" when possible, ok, did it like video but PT don't scored it, i tried the other way, it's correct too, but that's not what the activity ask, put it like this HQ(config)#access-list 111 deny ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.63 host 192.168.2.45, and PT scored it now... bug¿? anything changed?
23:41 I believe the ACL statement that denied the ping between PC-1 and the Branch Server is actually: access-list 111 deny ip any host 192.168.2.45 Despite the fact that the Branch Server wouldn't be able to respond to the ping due to the ACE you mentioned, it would have already been denied by the ACE I mentioned.

I agree ---> HQ Router is upstream from Branch Router, and ACL 111 is controlling access on port Gig 0/0/0

I am having the same issue with not getting 100 is 111 is wrong
Gotta make sure to remove ACL 111 first though (unless you restart from the beginning of the exercise).
To remove: HQ(config)# no access-list 111
I'm stuck on 84%, Even after putting the same command multiple times. My result shows" HQ>ACL>111>INCORRECT"(Configure Extended ACL-2)
