KC stated that it takes a full year to be 100% after that injury. I think KC had some input in this game plan. I don’t think he is healthy. Honestly there is no way that Robinson is unable to draw up play action plays. It was intentional. That’s my base case
People questioned Cousins health because they had him in the Pistol formation all game which had people assume he could not drop back due to health. The Quarterbacks Coach, Running Back Coach, an Offensive Assistant, and Running Game coordinator were all retained under Morris and Robinson. You would think that a new OC coming in would want to bring people that know their system to help implement it. Especially the Quarterbacks coach. All in all we have retained 9 coaches under Morris that were here under Smith's Tenure. The average number of coaches retained on new staffs is 1.4 I don't understand why so many coaches, including the assistant head coach, were retained. It isn't a common practice and doesn't feel like Morris actually put a staff together. Just brought his buddies from the Rams and let the rest stay. I have zero optimism it will get better solely on the fact they didn't even attempt to make an adjustment to slow down Watt. It's gonna be a long year. It ws the WORST called game in my Falcon life. That guy failed in his debut as an OC, and it doesn't look promising. He needs to address the media and explain what the hell he was thinking.
If Kirk is a play action qb and not a pistol/shotgun qb and Zach didn't run a single play action play, then Zach is either too arrogant trying to run his plays with qb that doesn't fit, or Kirk CAN'T run the play action right now (because he's not 100%). I think it is the latter because a) shotgun/pistol reduces the amount of movement a qb has to make and b) Kirk was literally a statue out there! The only play that he moved on was the touchdown pass.

It wasn’t all the concepts per se, it was the fact that he’ll get a successful play but doesn’t keep the defense on their toes. He also didn’t put out a 2-1 attack which could’ve put a TE out there to help Kaleb slow down Watt at the very least while also keeping Pitts out there as a receiver. Doing some masking, something! He just let Watt practically get 4 sacks with two coming back. It was a lot there to be desired from a play calling standpoint.

No, the biggest obstacle the Falcons have to overcome on offense is Kirk Cousins. It's obvious the guy can't play anymore. Those two INTs were just horrible. I take no joy in saying this--- in fact, it literally hurts--- but I really DID call this. I said that there were 6 points of failure that would relegate this team to a 3-5 win season. 1) Raheem Morris was a tragedy as a HC in Tampa. His teams were always poorly coached and poorly prepared. Yesterday, we saw that tendency here as well. 2) Neither os our coordinators had EVER called a play in the NFL. The DC did a decent job, but the OC looked incapable of calling a deceny high school game. 3) Cousins is a career .500% QB. Yesterday, Kirk wasn't the problem, but he certainly wasn't the answer. Could he have audibled? Maybe? Probably not if the needed play-action passes and screens weren't practiced or prepared for. 4) We only have one NFL caliber WR. Judging by yesterday, we looked like we have NONE!!! 5) No pass rush other than Judon. This might be wrong. 6) Only one CB. This might also be wrong. The defense as a whole cannot be blamed. So after game one, 4 of my 6 predicted probles wrecked us. I stand by my 3-5 win season prediction.

No, the biggest obstacle the Falcons have to overcome on offense is Kirk Cousins. It's obvious the guy can't play anymore. Those two INTs were just horrible. The dude has zero mobility and can't escape a sack from my 92 year old grandmother. He should just retire before he gets seriously injured.
The Falcons would have been better off just sticking with Taylor Heinicke, who at least can escape pass pressure and make good things happen.

you're overreacting - it's the first week of the season. He'll get better.....the offense always takes 3-4 weeks before things fall into place, look across the league
I take no joy in saying this--- in fact, it literally hurts--- but I really DID call this. I said that there were 6 points of failure that would relegate this team to a 3-5 win season.
1) Raheem Morris was a tragedy as a HC in Tampa. His teams were always poorly coached and poorly prepared. Yesterday, we saw that tendency here as well.
2) Neither os our coordinators had EVER called a play in the NFL. The DC did a decent job, but the OC looked incapable of calling a deceny high school game.
3) Cousins is a career .500% QB. Yesterday, Kirk wasn't the problem, but he certainly wasn't the answer. Could he have audibled? Maybe? Probably not if the needed play-action passes and screens weren't practiced or prepared for.
4) We only have one NFL caliber WR. Judging by yesterday, we looked like we have NONE!!!
5) No pass rush other than Judon. This might be wrong.
6) Only one CB. This might also be wrong. The defense as a whole cannot be blamed.
So after game one, 4 of my 6 predicted probles wrecked us. I stand by my 3-5 win season prediction.
