Bittersweet news... Bungie removed sunsetting but the damage has already been done to most of us. In desperation of precious vault space, we dismantled those once highly coveted sunset god rolls to make room for the next generation of god rolls. Some of us, however, didn't give in and have some gold remaining in our vaults.

I still have a breach light with drop mag and rampage. It's good but I've got seriously good side arms most of this stuff isn't worth really bringing back unfortunately
Drop mag is reason I kept my Patron of Lost Causes for so long. The reload speed is whacked and it feels nice.

Regarding that Hoosegow @ 30:55 , The Black Armory weapons had a chance to roll that specific shader and people hunted that shader like crazy back in the day. That's likely the only reason that weapon was kept aside from the goofy roll.
Forget unlimited Vault space, I just want to be able to “Sort By: Weapon Type” or even Alphabetical!

you know, from the lore perspective, sunset weapons being brought back is kinda logical. Cuz in the trailer Cayde said that everything inside the Traveler is a memory. So maybe all the sunset weapon will be returned to world by the traveler?

My Galliard, my Claws of the Wolf... oh my god my Breachlights! I had every roll! Honestly, the feelings I had when sunsetting came in, I'm kinda having the same feelings now that it's gone.

I had a Galliard too! Black Armoury refurbished. Tap the Trigger and Kill Clip, and a short/medium/far sight/scope where the latter two put a red outline on enemies. I really wish I never deleted it cause it was a beast in PvP right before the Gnawing Hunger meta kicked off

Do people not know that anything from Y1 can be pulled from collections since they’re not random rolls?
I have all the Leviathan Weapons with each element. If you pull from collections, you can only pull them in one element. In Year 1 we could make them whatever element we wanted.
@@WillZiacoma Hoping in the future we will be able to do that again. Would love a Void BXR with Destabilizing Rounds or an Arc one with Voltshot. Unfortunately, mixing around elements AND perks sounds like a D3 feature.

My keeper is The Old Fashioned, with Drop Mag, Kill Clip and Demolitionist. It was my workhorse through Shadowkeep, and it's back baby.
I'm a hoarder and kept every god roll from Minagerie, Black Armory, Reckoning all the curated raid weapons, all the curated Nightfall weapons. I don't think I'm going to play D2 that much anymore, but I'm happy I can come back.
I'm just happy that the old Mercury weapons that I grinded for back in curse of Osiris are able to be pulled from the archives. I loved that scout, that and Oxygen Sr3

From a year 1 Destiny 2 player that stopped playing before lightfall this video is pure nostalgia joy. Like browsing a stamp collection in 1990's.
I’m glad I still have most of my sunsets 🌅 There’s a few I regret dismantling, like The Bygones, Wendigo, The Oxygen Scout rifle, and a few others.

I think this was a good decision. We’ve powercrept pretty much all of our old gear and what we haven’t gone past got nerfed. The only thing leaving all these guns sunset will do is raise the barrier to entry for returning players to see how destiny all plays out. But there isn’t much here that really has me saying “oh no that is something I should’ve kept because nothing else is as good as it”

@@hectorrivera4005 sunridsing improves game numbers, makes it easier to find teams for old content, and makes it more likely we'll find regular teams to run with. When was the last time you had a dedicated fireteam? For me it was 2018. You're just too used to only hearing bad news. Osteo and immortal are doing things OG recluse could never dream up because we've massively power crept our old gear. All this does is help old vanilla players get better gear and special weapons without needing to grind from nothing.
Not only do I have some weapons from D2 launch, remember back when we could buy damage mods with different elements from banshee? I have a couple alternate damage weapons, like erentil and kibou to start. Most people don't even remember that...

It feels good to say I told you so 🤭 I kept all my high kill beloved weapons not to use them again but cuz of the memories. Although I might bring Duke Mk. 44 Outlaw Rampage or the original Better Devils with 13K kills with me through Final Shape, cuz they were there for me at or near the start
Patron was the first weapon that came to my mind. Felt really good, had a great sound. That RH/EP roll was legit, I used that constantly.

I have an original 1.0 Bygones with the original godroll of Outlaw kill clip with all range. Hilariously, outlaw is in the 4th column. lol I loooooved this weapon to death and was never gonna delete it. Its not gonna be nearly as good as it once was but its awesome knowing that its back on the menu.
Facts bro I have exactly the same role and I murdered people with it for 9 months straight in PvP with it - I have like 22,000 kills with it. SO glad I didn’t delete it, I’m bringing that bad boy up to 25,000 in Final Shape 😁

I still have a copy of the original Rose from the Lumina quest and it's still in my top 5 hand cannons. I also have an explosive payload Kindled Orchid and sometimes I'll just pull them out and run some double hand cannon in Crucible. It's way more fun than I think it probably should be, and I'm super glad I can use those guns everywhere again

Not me, I kept everything that was great for the “just in case” scenario we were told wasn’t coming. Slow and steady wins the race ladies and gents. Bungie always brings thing back so I knew it was only a matter of time. Still have all my old raid, ritual, and seasonal weapons. All the OG’s are still in my vault waiting for their time to shine again.
RIP to the hundreds of hours spent grinding the god rolls that got sunset, and are now being unsunset 😅

Im glad Misfit made it into the video. It was my FAVOURITE weapon until sunset and I kept it for sentimental reasons. Fooking glad I did! That thing is jumping into my loadout again !

I kept a bunch of old Handcannons as I'm a long time fan of that weapom type, including Better Devils and Kindled Orchid, but I finally deleted my Martyr's Retribution about a year about at it still hurts. I loved that weapon
This made me super nostalgic and really missed a lot of quests we would get for pinnacle weapons. Honestly, I wish Bungie would add those back in as well. Even though they were static rolls, it was still fun to chase after those weapons. Who remembers the Fellwinter’s Lie quest? That was so awesome! The lore behind that was insane!!

People can make mistakes. What hurts is how he was mocking anyone and everyone who were inclined to keep those rolls. That mockery is traumatizing now.
The problem are the exotic weapons and the exotic pieces of armor. They are all clumped together and by the time you realize, your vault has like 380-400 exotic items, them you add legendary armor pieces from dungeons and raids and you skyrocket to 530-550 and then you only have like 50 slots for legendary weapons, many of them being craftable. 100 extra slots won't really fix the problem, although it's going to alleviate it for sure. With the new raid and the new class, I assume there will be weapons rolling with that multicast elemental class.

I've been running perfect paradox since I got it. Rifled Barrel, accurized rounds, slideshot, and swashbuckler/opening shot with a range masterwork.
I have DIM open and I'm looking at all the rolls you're mentioning here. I have almost every single gun and roll in this video. I've been 599/600 most of the time but my patience and hoarding finally paid off. It's been very hard and my postmaster and other Guardians act as storage units until I need to use them for activities, but I'm glad I didn't delete all my stuff because some streamer told me to. I can't imagine spending thousands of hours in this game, obtaining all this cool stuff over the years and just deleting it. You'd have nothing to show for all of your time spent.

I kept a few, but my notable good ones are a ringing nail with dragonfly and rampage, a plurperfect with zen and kill clip, and a OG curated outlast (zen and kill clip too)
I am so happy I kept my ricochet round, tap the trigger, zen moment ringing nail for all these years along with all my black armoury heavy weapons. Stryker's sure-hand with surrounded was my favourite heavy back then.
This is the last time I’m going to say this so please everyone listen. In the current sandbox a kill clip tatara gaze can no longer 1 body. Secondly, in the current sandbox, kindled Orchid cannot 2 tap with 1 stack of rampage and kc. You would need TWO stacks for rampage and KC procced, whereas if you just used magnificent howl on the brave lunas or not forgotten you could 2 tap just by getting 2 kills period, you don’t even have to worry about a timer. None of these sunset guns are good anymore. Adept found verdict is better in every way to mind benders, not to mention QD doesn’t improve handling anymore just the actual draw speed, so adsing and anything else handling related will feel awful. Marty’s retribution never had a good roll. Liminal vigil is better in every way than breechlight. Rufus is better than steelfeather. Duke was only good cause of kill clip, and again, in the current meta kill clip is not enough to two tap even with a 120 so Duke won’t be good either. Not to mention PI is practically required on 120s now so igneous is the only real option. Fracethyst is better than dust rock, and as for revoker, not forgotten, randys throwing knife etc, you can just pull those all from collections if you EVER owned them, OR, buy them from the legacy kiosk in the tower of you NEVER had them. Everyone, calm down, all sunset guns are worse than current guns.

Got a Tatara Gaze with Snapshot & Opening Shot with Drop Mag/Extended Mag. I still use this thing in PvP every so often.
Out of all the guns I’ve dismantled over the years the one that hurts the most was my Atalanta-D from black armory. I really liked that gun due to being an smg and having a built in suppressor. It wasn’t a great gun but for aesthetics it was beautiful and I miss it
Haven’t really played since I had kids. About 8 years now. Felt so behind the curve jumping back in. Still do, but my vault is stacked with nothing but these weapons. 8 Orewing’s Maul’s for some reason. Feels good man.
I kept my Rampage Headseeker Bygones because I loved it in pvp, I loved it too much to just old yeller the gun. I'm so glad I did.
When I read that part of the TWID I wept real tears that I haven't shed in a long time but, hopefully, when Bungie brings back sunset weapons they will be much better than their previous iteration.
Miss my bygones with opening shot and headseeker. I also miss when the rapid fire hgls were aggressive frame and had the same damage as adaptive gls but fired faster

I will be looking forward to finally enjoying my kindled orchid with drop mag, rampage, and kill clip. I never used it much back when I got it as we didn't have unlimited primary ammo at that time.

I've been keeping a lot of all my the old forsaken weapons, so being able to use them again is great.
the only sunset i kept was a Trust hand cannon with explosive, genesis, light mag, smallbore and a range master solely because i love using it in PVP
I kept, never expecting them to get unsunset, but I kept them anyway because they were special to me and I always wanted to spot them in my vault and remember the good times
I kept all my Black Armory weopons. Kindled with rampage, kill clip. Ringing Nail- dragon fly/rampage. Tatara's Gaze - curated roll. Spitefal Fang- Curated. And also, my mfing GALLIARD-42 XN7568 with dynamic sway / kill clip

I got rid of most of my sunset weapons but I still have a handful including an OG Better Devils, Arc Logic with overflow/rampage, and a curated It Stared Back.
It feels great to be the one percent of people who horde everything and never delete much of anything.

Time-Worn Spire: Hitmark IS, Tactical Mag, Zen Moment with a Range Masterwork (This was and still is my favorite weapon) I could never get it out of Iron Banner when it came back
9:00 I just kinda hope we get into the light and 30th anniversary style stuff before expansion more. I understand quantity wise would be unsustainable, but mainly that it brings old stuff back with a few quests tied to fan favorite things.

I just got back into Destiny 2 when PlayStation plus gave out Witchqueen and put a bunch of the dlc on sale, I went in and deleted everything that couldn't go over 1600 light.. I didn't have any god rolls but I had some good ones. I am thankful I kept my explosive payload Better Devils and my timed payload True Prophecy, they were my two favorite hand cannons.
honestly, i just picked up that feeding frenzy and adren junkie rolled chroma rush from xur, that is another amazing rapid auto, speaking of i have kept a underpressure high impact reserve misfit for ages, never truely loved it, i just love the roll
I didn’t keep too much old stuff, just the most sentimental things. I kept my Lone Survivor pve roll and I’m so stoked I kept it this long! It’s not anything crazy, but I just always loved it.

Looking through all these old guns takes me back, and I had good rolls of most of them, but I don't regret sharding them. Because 99% of them I would never equip again even if I still had them.
Patron of Lost Causes is one of the only scouts that feels as good as I remember D1 scouts feeling, and it's really dependent on explosive payload. So glad I can use it again
I think my favorite PvP gun I dismantled is something nobody else thought was a PvP gun. It was a Gahlran's Right Hand with nearly max range, Tap the Trigger, and Rangefinder. I don't know why, but I could out duel even my handcannon addicted jumpy hunter friends with it. For some reason it just worked for me, I couldn't miss a shot. Not saying I'm good at all, but I miss that gun.
The only sunset weapons I kept were the S9 weapons, my best roll of each, and the pity Mindbenders they gave us right before sunsetting. I can't wait to use my steelfeather again. Although I do hope we get the S9 weapons back in either the next season or the one after, since we just got the S8 weapons.
Oop, watching further, I forgot one. Hazard of the Cast. I still use it to this day; I even ran it some in the last banana we had this season. 450s still put in work and I've never found one that feels better than that one.
Some of us had that feeling, in the back of our minds, that good things come to those who wait. The kindled orchid lives again.
I have three Uriel's Gifts and three Ikelos handcannons that are all three elements. For anyone who wasn't a day 1 "I can't believe I paid $60 for this and they made it free" player, in the Red War you could change the elements of your guns by installing a specific mod. That was part of the "double primaries and then everything else is a heavy" design they started with. It was phased out when Forsaken dropped, obviously, but anyone with element-modded guns got their stuff grandfathered in. And I kept all of mine.
I just deleted my dukes and better devils last week before the announcement, its always when i make a decision about something and bungie does something to make me regret it, i just hope both those handcanons come back because I loved their models, they felt smooth
Most of the rolls have been power crept anyway, but I do miss my demo/AL Martyr's Retribution. It was crazy with warmind cell builds.
My lone sunset keep is the Rampage+Kill Clip Kindled Orchid. Idk how it will perform nowadays, but I’m glad I kept it

I used to have 3 Hollow Earths (Y1 Dead Orbit Autos), one of each element.
One day I logged in during Lightfall, and they were all Arc. They changed something and ruined that collection in my vault.
Still have my Snap/Quickdraw Mindbender's though!
Bygones, extended barrel, high cal, rampage, head seeker and stability master work. Still smooth as butter.
Just make all the sunset weapons obtainable through collections with random rolls for people who have previously owned them. Don’t have updated rolls or origin perks, leave the guns just as they were so you can rng your way to your old god rolls. Hell, go ahead and add a special currency for it, let’s call it “motes of light” as a throw back to when you could reroll D1 weapons to get your perfect roll.
I did not delete a sunsetted weapon till I got an equivalent or better to retire it…
However the weapons I held onto the longest were my dawn weapons and bygones…
Some of use took what the Drifter said for Breakneck to heart…
My beloved trust was so amazing and snappy, maxed out reload stat, and handling was chef's kiss perfection... Oh how I miss you ...

Claws of the Wolf is one of my all time favorites. My rolls aren't even that great but I love the way that weapon looks and feels.
I stopped playing as much as I used to, years ago. I still have alot of sunset god rolls. Like my original Wardens Law with feeding frenzy and rampage
Just doing 1600 content with Blast Furnace outlaw rampage, feels so good even tough the 4.5sec is super short buff time.

I only have 2 sunset weapons in my vault that I enjoyed using in pvp. Steelfeather Repeater and Bygones (rangefinder/headseeker but I still love it)
The only sunset weapon a kept is my old God Roll Dust Rock Blues, Full Choke, Accurized, Sldeshot, Snapshot, Range MW and thank the lords I couldn’t let go of it over some of my other stuff!
I kept some sunsetted guns if they don't have unsunset version & for those guns which have, I deleted the sunset version only after getting an ok or good rolls on them even if I don't intend to use them. Examples like Spare Rations, Minbender's Ambition & some event guns like Avalanche
