Have you considered putting in small step dams in along where the water would flow during rain storms to slow the water run off and allow the water to seep into the pasture deeper? It might improve your grass cover the rest of the year around.

Trigger is READY. I’ve never seem a stud turn it on before.
That is absolutely one of the most beautiful, amazing things TH-cam has randomly thrown into my feed. Those horses are happy, happy, happy. I may be contacting you guys sometime this year or next as we get ready for me to get a horse. It has been awhile, I am now 59. We live in New Mexico and when this video started I thought you guys were somewhere between Clines Corner, Vaughn or Duran. 😂 my husband's company has a 9000 acre ranch with empty equestrian facilities that I can use at my leisure, plus, my horse will be kept in our acre backyard. Loads of riding. Need me a good quarter horse or ranch horse to traverse sandy hills where I live and the Manzanita mountains where I will spend a lot of time riding, too. I simply cannot wait!

No. I need an adapter and I haven’t had time to look for one. Baseball and Connor’s graduation… all the things are keeping me so busy right now. Graduation is tomorrow and studs are all out, branding is almost done and I think life will slow down after that. 😅

Some stay with the same stud because they make a nice cross and some are changed out. It’s the “art of a breeder/horseman” I guess 😁

How long do you leave the studs with the mares? I just found your channel yesterday.
They stay with the mares for about 3 months. Stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll do a video when the time comes to take the studs out 😊

Pink eye? We had pink eye about a month ago. This is an unlearned question, but do mares with nursing foals come into season?
I think it was just an eye cold. Yes they do, and mares have a foal heat as well.
Do you breed the studs to the same mares every year or do you rotate them between the studs?

How do you determine which stud goes with which group of mares?
The guys have done some crosses for years because they throw great foals and sometimes they change it up.... lots of things are considered- color, disposition, age, etc... I always say it's just a breeder/horseman's art.
Can someone tell me what kind of horses they are? Im new to the channel and am just not sure. Just love horses but dont know the different breeds. Trigger is absolutely gorgeous as are all your horses.
All Quarter Horse. With the exception of one paint mare and one mustang…. And Jasper’s ponies
I thought they were Quarter Horses but didn't want to sound ignorant. Just beautiful. I am in Kentucky and what I saw on your video reminds me of KYs motto "Unbridled Spirit". I've done lots of riding but never owned a horse of my own. So now I just enjoy watching them and your video was a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your life with us..
