Thank you for this! We are on day two and you've just made me cry because you know how I feel! I feel silly about how emotional I feel. I had just gotten the hang of looking after this baby and now I feel like I'm starting over and we're back at day one with me not knowing how to do anything. Anyway thank you for the video, the practical help was very useful and also just knowing someone out there knows exactly how this feels was also helpful. Hope everything worked out well for you and your baby!❤
@@stellamariemagee thankyou, and I promise you it does get easier! Every time I read comments like yours it’s takes me right back to 3 years ago and it’s so emotive! Take your time with everything, you’ve got this! x
My wife and I had a small meltdown last night after leaving the Dr with our baby in her harness. I appreciate the tips and it's just nice to know I wasn't the only one who initially thought it was the end of the world. Haha. Thanks Erin.
I’m glad they have been helpful for you. It’s really challenging those first few days, I hope you are feeling better about it all. Your baby girl will be less affected then you will be for sure.
Thank you so much I feel so defeated and struggle feeling like a failure why can’t I change her diaper not my first kid the harness definitely is taken some getting use too thank you for showing!
Thank you so much Erin, your videos give me hope and support! 2nd day in the harness and it's so hard I look at her and cry! We are not allowed to take it off and it's inside touching her soft skin ☹️ did you also have it in at first? Thanks for the protective strap covers!
I am so pleased you are finding them helpful. Yes we did have the harness rubbing the skin to start with, that’s why I started putting it underneath. I have a video that shows how I do that without taking the harness off. It’s tricky at first but gets much easier
Hiya, with me - if it was really soiled I would probably just undo the leg straps to do the change as long run wouldn’t be ideal to have mess on the harness! Good luck!
It’s so hard to stop that generally, but deffo not ideal with the harness! I agree with the other comment, but also pulling the tabs diagonally down rather than straight across helps create a tighter fit. Also try different brands, some have elastic style backs to help avoid this and others are more ‘open’!
@@FSCforal I think nappies are a very personal choice, I just got 1 size larger for ease of being able to easily do it up and not have to pull around to much. In terms of leaks, make sure the back of the nappy isn’t gaping. A general trick to stop this is to angle the nappy tabs downwards on an angle, this pulls the back tighter. You can also get nappies which almost have an elastic back. We used the Aldi Premium nappies which had this. If you are finding you are still having leaks I would suggest changing baby in the night regardless of them waking, it isn’t ideal but a quick nappy change is far easier then cleaning a dirty harness!

Thank you for this video! Totally feel how you described you did!
Where did you get that changing mat your baby is laying on?
Hi! Oh I think it was on Amazon or something like that!
Any tips for removing a very soiled nappy without getting poop all over yourself or a new nappy when you lift the baby with the harness on?

How to you stop the nappy from leaking up the back
Sizing up and folding the back of the diaper towards the babies back helps
