It’s 2022 and I’m rewatching entire series. I feel the same way I did when I watched it in 2008 and I’m happy it didn’t change. This is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I’ll love it forever
Watched it for the first time in 2017 and then again in 2020. It even hit me harder the second time. I'm thinking of watch it again. I guess I'll just watch it every 3-4 years or so, it's long enough to make you forget a lot of things from the show so it kinda feels fresh.
For reasons that I can't explain, this song struck a positive cord with me and made me cry. I'm a 60 year old man and it takes a lot for me to cry. I can't remember the last time that I cried. Thank you to the Six Feet Under crew and the original uploader. You have done me a great favor.

@Mordechai Francis thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I finished watching series just today.. Omg episodes 10, 11 and 12 are.. I don't even know how to describe..Beyond any words. And the whole show was a wonderful, dark, unique masterpiece
It makes me feel like I'm walking away from something. Something I've known, something I've never known. Thank you Arcade Fire, Thank you Six Feet Under.
Well put. I think my friends and family are sick of hearing me bring it up. But there is always a reference point.......and the show does change who we are.
I've always loved Arcade Fire but never heard this song until I watched the penultimate episode of Six Feet Under. Didn't even mind that it wasn't available for instant download on Apple Music. Was totally worth the $1.29. Thank you Arcade Fire and Six Feet Under
SFU totally shattered and entirely changed my life. I have learned a whole lot of lessons, things we ignore most of the time yes we know them but are not aware of, and sometimes miss them out like living, surviving, loving, caring, existing, and being able to see the people around us and then all of a sudden we die. death is awaiting us just like a flower waiting for watering. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be here... now. it's been my motto from that day Cheers Brenda.
It is nice to read the comments here because i felt alone in my passion for Six Feet Under. The show has absolutely changed my life but I'm not sure how yet. Mostly I believe is that I can't stop watching it! Once I get through the epic 5th season I have to go back to the beginning. When the siblings did not get along but little by little they become so in need of each other. It is a masterpiece that is so.....beautiful.
You should check out the show OZ. It's a lot more violent but it holds a lot of the same depth that SFU does. SFU is hands down my favorite show ever and OZ was made around the same time when HBO shows were at their best. Both SFU and OZ had profound effects on my life. It might seem strange to say that about tv shows but the effort put into both shows really makes you look at life differently I think.
@@rainbowbunniie Yes! I caught one episode back in the day, and I could tell it was very well done. I believe I started a new job with hours that didn't allow me to watch more.

Yes, it's really bad and sad. The song used to be, several years ago. You can see it (although not play it) if you adjust your Spotify default settings.
This was probably the darkest and most depressing episode of the entire series. I think its my favorite. The Fishers job was to help people deal with grief, and this episode is a great example of how there is no correct way to "deal." Each character has a different response that perhaps only nate could have truly empathized with. The point is you shouldn't judge anyone for it.. I just lost a close friend and was thankful that I'd seen this show. I don't know how someone could watch this shows and not have their views on life, death, grief, family be changed at least a little bit. Btw, this was the best song on a series with a truly great soundtrack.
Yes..."Static" is one of my favorite episodes. How the Fisher's dealt with Nate's death brought me back to dealing with losing one of my friend's in 2012, who passed away due to a misdiagnosed stroke at 23. We all were lead to believe she had the flu, so when it just hit...everyone was at a loss like in "All Alone." Written and directed brilliantly. I'm happy I was reconnected to this show later in life because I appreciate it so much more than if I watched it as a teenager. I was always told to watch it because I wanted to be a mortician...but it goes so much deeper than that. Plus, this song is perfect.
I believe it was Nate that gave David the dream that freed him. When David wakes up and sees Nate smiling at him, one of my favourite parts in entire series. To me anyway!
Words can't express what the show means to me. I'll never get over it or replace it as my all-time favorite! S5 has effected me in ways I can't explain. Arcade Fire was a perfect choice for the scene... Especially the organ-like funeral-esque parts.
I always say words can't express what this show means to me either. it's am absolute masterpiece. I watch the whole season once a year and it's like visiting dear friends and beautiful memories every time. this shows in my heart forever
there are so many profound quotes and moments from this episode, and show all together. My favorite. So thankful to have finally had the chance to watch it.
I don't care what anybody says about Brenda. I recently watched a virtual reunion where Rachel Griffiths said she loved how Alan Ball broke the mold of the unlikeable archetype of women with Brenda. I could feel her uncertainty, fear and loneliness with Nate's passing as she's giving birth to Willa. With this song being the perfect background track, I could not avoid but to end up sobbing.
Cant explain how much this shiw meant to me when i first saw it. I just watched the Sopranos with my brother and father and then I suggested we watch Six Feet Under together next. We did and it blew my Father and Bother away. We were all Bawling by the End.
I was binge watching the last season of 6 Feet Under this week and heard this song ... than looked it up. Now I cannot stop listening. Isn't it wonderful in a haunting type of way? When I hear it I think about Life and Death ... Man this song is such a work of art! Thoughts anyone?
I loved the series when it aired on HBO, such a long time ago now. Guess I will have to watch it again :) Didnt hear this song since, and it still rules!! Havent aged a day...
I just saw the final episode last night. I'm still shattered. Wonderful show. And this is a great song. One of two great songs for me on SFU. The other being "Let's Go Out Tonight" by orchestrator composer Craig Armstrong.
This song is a perfect set up for the finale. I think the voice is the voice of a dead man. We don't know. Perhaps he got in a car accident driving to SF? Or he's buried in SF. Time is confusing to dead people. But we hear this at the end of the penultimate episode, with Claire on a bus. She had a talk with Nate. He tells her stop listening to the static. Freaks out, runs, accident bus home. She's 102, dying but doesn't understand. Montage of images as the song plays, sets up the whole finale episode which is virtually's all about Claire being dead looking back at everything, everyone. She tries to take a picture. Nate whispers, "You can't take a picture. It's already gone."
