I built this when it was the original Mongoose funny car. It sat next to my Snake funny car of the same time period. I have all the Snake and Mongoose cars in my collection and they always get big ups by those that see them
Turned out really nice!! I believe that this was formerly known as the Cop Out when it was in a Monogram box. Nice to know that the molds are still in great shape as well.
If you build another one of those take black electrical tape sand the shine off use a little CA glue and wrap the tape around the rear slicks the the seam will not be seen

You will like them. It was really nice of Revell to send you that kit. Hopefully, that relationship will develop into something really nice for you and the channel. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent build. Your paint jobs are always great. I see so many builders on Facebook struggle with body paint jobs I believe due to using the wrong products. If you haven't already you should do a paint tutorial video on your complete steps with the products you use to achieve a great result. JMO.
It can still be built as the Cop Out Car. The 1960 Chevy Panel delivery van that had been previously issued as Quick Silver in the '70's and as Bad Actor in the '80's could still be built as Q.S. or B.A . If you chose to paint it silver or white.
Just watched another build of this kit - it's very intricate in terms of the chassis assembly but it seems to go together fairly well without much hassle. Very nice of Revell to send you this one - wonder what's coming next?

The tires and decals are garbage. Bought aftermarket tires that look so much better. Why 2 piece tires is beyond me. Decals cannot be moved once they are laid down. Bought gofer decals and got to position them without a problem. If they want to charge a pretty penny they better sell me a quality kit.
Glad they came out with a Fire Dept. Car. Now will match the Cop out Funny car.

The original kit was the Tom "Mongoose" McEwen Duster FC I believe it was sponsered by Mattels hott wheels if memory serves.

That model originally was called cop out it was a police car model I believe by monogram

Anyone know good video on best method to make rear wheel wells bigger like gassers have? Make that radius bigger.

For the body, did you paint it in one shot, or in separate coats? If in coats, then how many minutes do you wait in between?
