The Paragon- Original Short

The Paragon follows a teenage girl, Nancy, as she searches for the truth behind her late mother's death. Her mother's passing, becomes an ambiguous shadow on Nancy's existence, as her mother died shortly after Nancy was born. She is left to be cared for by her grandmother, a scarcely present figure. Nancy falls into a state of distortion and obsession as ideas of her likeness to her mother become ever-present in her mind. Familiarity plays a big role in this journey: understanding ourselves, our desires, and our past. There is a strong emphasis on mental health-- struggles with identity and issues of personhood. I find it important to this story that the viewer can, not necessarily relate to the narrative but discover parts of themselves through it.
