Excellent work! Three years ago I started the USS Iwo Jima, got the well and hangar deck complete, had to wait for my LEDs to show, and never picked it up again. I'm hoping to complete in 2025 sometime. I don't usually leave projects uncompleted like that! But I will be following your build, as I plan on doing an amphibious assault diorama as well.
I was on this ship and painted murals all over. From the alligator in the hangar bay to the ship on the mess decks and other areas. Cool to see you working on this.
Äntligen fick vi se att börjat på något nytt! Medan limmet torkar är det bra att jobba lite på B-25 tycker jag. Du gjorde en sådan fin cockpit och den känner sig ensam.
@@NorwegianModellingBench you're welcome 🙂 It makes me want to attempt something like this, but I doubt I'd be able to accomplish anything near what you have. Let's see what happens 😁
@@NorwegianModellingBench I've often thought about inserting a small camera, like the little spy cams that can be gotten cheaply, inside a model if there's detail inside a model that can't be seen. Don't know if it's feasible, but xthat might be a cool way to show things off. What do you think?
@@TheDavidPoole Could be a fun thing to try out. Not sure how the picture quality is on those. One can also use probe lenses for such pictures, but they are extremely expensive.
Thanks! I definitely think there is room for 3D printed parts in the hobby, but not for everything. A good combination like Pontos does is perfect IMHO. Let’s keep some craftsmanship in the hobby 😁
This kit is a Pontos one, combining the Trumpeter Wasp set and details from Pontos for LHD-2. The Trumpeter decals are not very good, but the ones from Pontos are good.

Excellent craftsmanship presented in a well made video 👍
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it :-D

That’s cool, maybe you can make some in 1/350 scale 😉
Great work! Thank you for showing an edited workflow, as opposed to doing twelve hours of exhaustive step by steps...
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I know what you mean, and I strive to compress the information as much as I can to make it valuable.
Fantastic work as always Kenneth.
Thank you very much :-D Happy Holidays!

Thank you, glad to hear that you liked it 😊
Good to see you back and onto a new project, Kenneth!
Thanks! I hope you liked the content as well. Spending time at the bench always gives me pleasure and a reset of the mind ;-)
This is some of your best work. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks! I think I have done quite a few mistakes on this one 😔
@@NorwegianModellingBench Artistic licensing. Looking forward to the next video.

Thank you 😊
You have made a great start Kenneth. You have gotten a lot done in the past couple of months.
Thanks Chris! Somehow it didn't feel like it before I sat down and edited the video. Great that you liked it!
Beautiful work there. Thanks for sharing it.
Thank you 😊

Отличная работа. Обязательно буду смотреть Ваши выпуски.👍

Superb!! And the lights will show all the great work on the interior.
Thank you! I hope so; glad my soldering skills are not visible ;-)
Beautiful work!
Thanks 😊
I've been waiting for this day, 😁
I hope you weren’t disappointed Craig 😉
@NorwegianModellingBench definitely not Kenneth. I have not watched it all, dinner time here so will sit down after dinner and watchvit all.
@@Marterrin Have a great dinner, and enjoy afterwards 🙂
beautiful job ! This would make a great r/c sailing model , good hull shape ! Best wishes from Wales .😍😍
Thank you :-) Maybe, but it might be an issue with getting the well deck water tight. Have a great weekend!
Looking fantastic! The lighting looks amazing.
Thank you! Tiny LEDs are a challenge, but I made it work at least. Glad that you liked it :-D
Excellent work 👍, on the LCAC's the black rubber hull, 17:39 it's called the bladder
Thanks! Ahh.. thank you for the clarification, that was not what I expected it to be named.
Looking great so far Kenneth, thanks for sharing!
Thanks!
Absolutely brilliant Kenneth.
Thanks Paul :-D

Exceptional work as always!
Thank you, I appreciate it :-)
I have been so looking forward to this bill I want to see how the pontus set looks I'm going to put on my lap 7 Iwo Jima
Thanks! I hope you liked it and that it will help with your Iwo Jima build :-)
Great work!
Thanks 😊
Well done.
Thanks 😊
Fantastisk flott arbeide 👍
Tusen takk 😊
Building this as well because of your unboxing video. Could you share what size lights you are using in the well deck?
Nice 👍 I am building the catwalks as we speak. Hope you enjoy the build as much as I do. The LEDs I have used are SMD 0201, so 0.6mm by 0.3mm.
Lovely work as always! What are those purple blocks you're using for sanding?
Thank you 😊 They are DSPIA sanding sponges. Can be recommended!
@@NorwegianModellingBench Thanks! I will check them out
What brand is the thin black brushes you use? I’d like some of those!
I have several; which one are you referring to?
i built this a few years back and i was highly disappointed with the decals provided in the kit
