  • Georgian Bay Islands National Park consists of 63 small islands or parts of islands in Georgian Bay, near Port Severn, Ontario.
To get there you need to take a water taxi at Honey Harbour and after a 15 minutes boat trip you'll arrive at the Beausoleil island.
We booked a site at Cedar Springs campground, which is a 45 site campground offering semi-serviced camping for tenters. Getting there you'll have to check-in in the Visitor Centre a few meters away of the boat dock.
New comfort stations with flush toilets and showers make this a great location for new campers and families. Potable water and cooking shelters are available throughout the campground. Staff at the new Cedar Spring Visitor Centre can help plan your stay in the park. Bike rentals, firewood and ice can be purchased at the Visitor Centre.
Tons of trails are available all over the island. In some you can ride bikes while in others are good to go only by foot. Everything is well described at the map you can take for free at the Visitor Centre.
We could see all sorts of animals while staying there. Racoons, frogs, bunnies, fishes, snakes (including a poison rattlesnake), birds and a bear poop (we could not see a bear). While we were hiking, some people alerted us that there was a bear with her cub in the area. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we could not see them, but it was enough to have intense heartbeats all over the way.
