15 to 1 is just so the best quiz show ever, and this could be the best ep of it ever, what a an unbelievable performance!! Wish William G.Stewart was still doing it, the new version is a shadow of this version.
That walk from 3:33 is bloody intimidating! The studio silence, and poor Lesley at number 1 looks terrified! Best set design for a quiz ever, love the arena!
Wow, never heard of this episode! Did you know that Kevin Ashman won the top prize of a car in a road show version of Millionaire? Unfortunately, he can't drive! :(
Love this show. . .BUT they made a rather big mistake on one of their questions. . .They said that Buzz Aldrin of Apollo 11 had said "Tranquility Base here. . .The Eagle has landed". . .It was Neil Armstrong who spoke those words after he took control away from the computer on board and executed a safe manual landing. . .WOW!. . .How fleeting is fame? Maybe because Aldrin is still alive and kicking, Armstrong has already begun to fade a bit in some people's minds. . .
Even if that's true, this show still got it wrong as to who spoke the famous first words, whether from the moon or the Arizona desert. . .It was Armstrong, not Aldrin. . .
The presenter is so inconsistent there. He's strict sometimes with contestants giving first names as well as last names but with other contestants let them get away with just a last name. Also in the final round he takes a point off the woman for pre guessing the question wrong (the west Ham question) then when Kevin pre guesses the name of the founder of the Salvation army, he says "I was gonna ask for the name of the organisation" and gives him the point!
Christopher Cooke (here at position 24) surprisingly appeared on The Chase today (2 November 2018) and he's still going strong at 71!

+111LoneStar It is one of my favourite quizzes, because it's challenging and there isn't much chatting in between rounds.
Thanks so much for the upload, really enjoyed seeing Kevin the Egghead at his best!
Rest in Peace William G Stewart !
I wish they could bring back the original format, none of Sandy Totsvigs long drawn out "getting to know you" shit
Who's Sandy Totsvigs? I've heard of Sandi Toksvig.

25:30 Calculated infinity to 72 decimal places LOL!!!!
There were a few really bad answers here in this episode. Nick Terry's answer to the Tim berners lee question, that sticks in my mind.
Wow, never heard of this episode!

Isabelle Heward, number 8 becomes Mastermind Champion 2017 :-)
The inconsistent and, frankly, nonsensical requirement for a first name was the the only thing wrong with 15-1...
Mark Rae It's just as bad on Eggheads. Interestingly The Weakest Link contestants got away with only saying the surname.
I think the Jeopardy! standard gets it right--surname is sufficient, unless perhaps the surname is extremely common (Smith, Johnson, etc.)
Kevin for Eggheads!!
You don't mess with the Ashman.
Great quiz I got 25% right. I love history
Don't worry, úll improve
You beat me! I got .03% right!
We still have this show here in Poland its called 10in1 and players have 3 lives :)
Michel Mendyka Oryginał to jest jakaś masakra. Same pytania o historię.
2:53-No it did not-It began on the 1st January 2000!
Great video
Don't actually remember that from the normal series - William G wasn't consistent in wanting it in this episode either.
Kevin is now a Egghead on BBC Eggheads
No kidding?
Surprised Daphne Fowler nee Hudson wasn't there, but interesting to see a young Kevin :D
Ah, I wasn't aware of that! Thanks for clearing that up for me :)
got any more episodes
The Women`s Institute and The RSPB - same thing, surely ?
Superb!
Thank goodness we progressed from the tracking vagaries of the VHS system
conocia a peron e isabel!

Moon landing never happened. It was filmed in Arizona dessert.

yeah, a lot of history - not much else
+Mike N It's all history because it is a special quiz for the end of the millennium- all the questions are about the last thousand years.
a reply would be nice
joy jo hello

millennium quiz? more like king henry quiz
The Human Google aka Kevin Ashman.
I swear they only invited Bill Francis cause he's so well dressed.
David Jatt no he's a former champion
I was just providing the facts
@@kaitlinbilous4605 Yeah, unlike him.
No Daphne Fowler?
1999? The show looks so much more 80's..
It did start around 1988, so that's probably why it looks like this.
Wow this is fantastic! Never seen this spin on the show before! Sad day when Channel 4 got rid of 15 to 1.
This episode aired before Daphne contended in 2000, so she wouldn't have attended at this time.
Kevin Ashman, greatest quizzer of all time
weird.... surely they should of just picked all the grand final champions?9
then there would have been only one woman... lol
plus luckily that smug so-and-so Martin Riley wasn't here either.
There would have only been 12
here's what the scores in the final would have looked like if it was a "normal" game:
Kevin 183-2
Barbara 62-2
Christopher 112-0
