Yes Carolyn your right Saw all 4 of them in sheffield in 1976.where do yu live Carolyn?? Yu obviously know yur music I live in rotherham Find me on face book messanger maybe yud like to talk regards steve webster
My god this makes me tingle. Went to see 10cc last Monday in Nottingham and they played this amongst all the other hits. If you get a chance this year don't miss them.
yes must admit it is one of the best guitar solos i have ever heard never get fed up with it. also good bass playing on this by Graham Gouldman sounds even better with headphones turned up .
Remember seeing them in Cardiff and Bristol in 83, shows were just amazing. Also had the pleasure to meet Eric then and 10 years later in Swindon, he is a joy to talk to .
Jim McAllister Hey, I too was at that show at the Kansas City Uptown theater. I remember being surprised when the band played the Beatles song Sgt. Pepper. After the show I went back stage and met Eric and Graham, got their autographs and a photo together. They were incredibly kind.
I love seeing super-humans like Eric Stewart blow the changes on the piano like that .. 1:24 Live music at its most real.. and he does not even flinch .. total pro
looking at this again makes me realize how much more we used to expect from a band.this is about 35yrs old, and you'll never see anything like it again.
GREAT live version of Feel The Benefit...... beautiful tune! What a brilliant band from the 70's....amazing talents! Can't thank you enough for posting this! ~KsKing
My favourite 10cc track, closely covered by a track from the 1978 album Bloody Tourists.............. For You and I.The Deceptive Bends album is my favourite of theirs.Underrated group, all very talented.Steve
I love the way Eric plays the end solo and let's his rock n roll roots emerge from this almost prog rock 3 parter. 10cc were always musicians first rather than performers, however they always injected something extra in live situations. I miss Eric being with Graham but alas the show must go on!
I saw them twice in the eighties too. Agree Amazing live! Saw current line-up with just Graham in 2019 & he was still Rocking it! Such a nice guy as well when he chatted to crowd
I think (with all due respect to Lol Creme) that when Rick Fenn joined the group 10cc had more flexibility. He was, (and still is) a very versatile guitarist. Teaming up with Eric Stewart gave 10cc some serious added firepower.
Steve 10cc were one of the finest bands ever full stop listen to Kevin godleys new album solo Released in January incredible it is and the videos he did for the tracks mate
Fabulous. Proof that "studio bands" can jam and PUT IT OUT live. Deceptive Bends was one of the great albums of the late 70's. I burned mine through just like my pals w/ their Zeppelin and Floyd. I wonder why Graham didn't put the bass solo on the album... Eric Stewart is Equal First w/ Beck, Clapton, May and Gilmore with his musicality in lead guitaring. btw, ?who is Veronica and her sponsorship? Thank you for the download and posting.
9:24. "You go Graham!" It doesn't matter if an artist has done it a million times before .. or even 'better' in other performaces .. they came up with it in the first place. LOVE these guys and this song. Those of you who saw them, you're very lucky.
Rick Fenn has now become one of my guitar heroes. That intro really reminds me of Dear Prudence by The Beatles. Lol Creme and Eric Stewart are also amazing guitarists and musicians in general.
There's no matching Eric's vocal on the 'the wanderer soon returns' bit starting at 3:14 and then finishes it off with that sustained, flawless note on the 'oh!'. There are very few 70's vocalist that had such a great voice as Eric imh.
My fav 10cc song and performance. Stunning - especially love the build up towards the end from Graham's bass solo into Eric's guitar melting solo. But where is the ending of the vid?!
...and 10cc have just finished their tour at the Royal Albert Hall, here's INIL with the new Kevin Godley graphics (at Brum) th-cam.com/video/qLgWyXth8Kk/w-d-xo.html
Add to the fact that 'Feel The Benefit' came out in 1977. And it was after Kevin Godley and Lol Creme had departed from 10cc. One of their most epic numbers ever.
I agree with all these comments. Seen 10cc original and after godley and crème left. Brilliant. Very underrated also Eric very very underrated as a musician mostly lead guitar
I met and chatted with Paul Burgess a few times and he told me, amongst themselves on stage, they used to call this song “Feel Rick Fenn a bit“. 😂. Thanks for posting this, it is one of the most grooving rocking versions of this I’ve ever heard and the strings/synth work and sound is phenomenal
When I hear this music and compare this to the crap they play today on the Dutch radio stations.......... I am sad to say, they don't make music anymore.
Feel the Benefit is surely the most underestimated great rock song of the past Century. Like Beethoven and Shakespeare, not always appreciated at the time - but one day it will be taught in schools!
A pretty fair patch, but yea, I agree. For one thing, I didn't get off on the twangy sound of the bass in that guitar solo, which is still a good one, but... Couple of times they sound a little lost, but hey, the real deal IS ON the Live and Let Live double album.
Gifted musicians, saw them live at least 5 times in the 80's. Unlike Queen they didn't bother with anthems just wrote great original songs with wickedly clever lyrics. Didn't copy anyone they were just 10cc, a one off and probably the most underrated British band ever. I can still remember listening to 'I'm not in love' for the first time, never heard anything like it, they were a class apart.
Hard to see clearly but think Eric might have bust the G string on his Les Pal,, no other explanation for the impromptu solo, different from the album version ? ive been a lead guitarist for many many years and from me to you Eric Stewart is a killer guitarist, his vibrato in insane,, seen them live a few times and he kills this solo every time , Peace |
Eric is Mr 10cc I'm lucky enough to have seen them four times live back in the seventies!!
A shame that Creme and Godley left the band, 10cc was after that more 5 cc!
Without equal in consistent quality of songs, imagination, subject matter, warmth, humour and compassion. Nobody like this now, sadly, StuX
It's like an entire concert in one song. So much talent here it's quite ridiculous.
Eric is a guitar god. I have listened to feel the benefit at least once a day for the last 40 years and it moves me everytime
Would you believe he never learned to read music? He plays everything by ear.
This is not Eric on guitar.
@@leofennk2k th-cam.com/video/4NukVqMbXYQ/w-d-xo.html that is.. superb
@@leofennk2k Rick Fenn. Related?
That's pretty hard-core
One of the best bands ever! It´s sad that they don't have the recognition that they deserve
I could watch Eric play the guitar all day, he is a genius on it
Yes Carolyn your right
Saw all 4 of them in sheffield in 1976.where do yu live Carolyn??

"If all the people in the world could sing together, how would it sound." What a great band! And what a great bass solo by Graham Gouldman!
rings true today more than ever...on the quote and your 2 good points sir !!
Thats right
What a masterpiece, that bass guitar work of Gouldman!
Eric Stewart's guitar playing is among the best I have ever heard... in over 50 years.
To whomever saved this, thank you. Epic performance, beautiful video.
Still to this day , one of my all time favorite songs.....Great Memories!!
One of my all time favourites. Eric and Graham are pure geniuses .. One of the greatest lead breaks ever
My god this makes me tingle. Went to see 10cc last Monday in Nottingham and they played this amongst all the other hits. If you get a chance this year don't miss them.
Only 40 years since listening....still know every single line ......#majestic #sublime #manchestersfinest
The world will never see this level of talent from these individuals, or anyone else, ever again
One of my all time favorites, period! And, I feel 10CC is woefully underrated!
What a brilliant tune!!!! My Gosh!!! Eric is really a guitargod.
Masterpiece ! 😊😊
I absolutely love this song. I love everything about it. Eric and Graham are amazing and I'm absolutely smitten with Rick.
A handsome chap indeed.
yes must admit it is one of the best guitar solos i have ever heard never get fed up with it. also good bass playing on this by Graham Gouldman sounds even better with headphones turned up .
First heard this when I bought their 1977 Live and Let Live album in 1979. Loved it then and over forty years later still LOVE it!
Goosbumps 🥰🥰🥰….. wow fandazzydosey, the master that is MR ERIC STEWART …
10 cc is ingeniously complex simplicity
Have loved this song for over 40 years
this band has been jammin my Yamahas for 45 years 😎😎😎😎😍😍
Thanks, Eric Stewart I miss you. My favourite band back then and .........now,🤣
would love to see eric perform again, great musician brilliant vocalist and guitarist.
you get better, my hero, Eric so good,
love
Remember seeing them in Cardiff and Bristol in 83, shows were just amazing. Also had the pleasure to meet Eric then and 10 years later in Swindon, he is a joy to talk to .
Damn, what a great version. I saw them do this in 1977-78 at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City. The crowd went nuts!
Jim McAllister Hey, I too was at that show at the Kansas City Uptown theater. I remember being surprised when the band played the Beatles song Sgt. Pepper. After the show I went back stage and met Eric and Graham, got their autographs and a photo together. They were incredibly kind.
Composer 28., That is cool. Hard to believed it is almost 40 years ago. The Uptown was a great venue. Those were fun days. Thanks for the comment.
I love seeing super-humans like Eric Stewart blow the changes on the piano like that .. 1:24 Live music at its most real.. and he does not even flinch .. total pro

Love their music. Very talented and versatile people
I am totally hooked on this track!!!
Слушаю 10 СС с 1977 по нынешнее время. Эта композиция моя самая любимая.
Massively underrated band..just terriffic
GREAT live version of Feel The Benefit...... beautiful tune! What a brilliant band from the 70's....amazing talents! Can't thank you enough for posting this! ~KsKing
***** Hi and thanks Tony! Yes...all is good....nice of you to ask bro!! Have a great sporting weekend Tony. ~KsK
best bass solo ever !
I agree Gouldman is the boss!
We will never see their like again! Absolute, pristine, 100% top quality rock gods!
My favourite 10cc track, closely covered by a track from the 1978 album Bloody Tourists.............. For You and I.The Deceptive Bends album is my favourite of theirs.Underrated group, all very talented.Steve
"How dare you" is brilliant, unbelievably clever, witty lyrics. It ends with the tour de force, Don't hang up.
I love the way Eric plays the end solo and let's his rock n roll roots emerge from this almost prog rock 3 parter. 10cc were always musicians first rather than performers, however they always injected something extra in live situations. I miss Eric being with Graham but alas the show must go on!
There is music that has no time y will Last forever...
Love it
Great band
I’ve seen 10cc in concert twice back in the very early 80’s. They were amazing live as this video shows.
I saw them twice in the eighties too. Agree Amazing live! Saw current line-up with just Graham in 2019 & he was still Rocking it! Such a nice guy as well when he chatted to crowd
We are here, almost the end of 2021 but watching this video seems like yesterday. Brilliant performance! Thank you for posting!
And now the start of 2024! Still so rewarding every time, thanks so much, Stu X
Они мне нравятся даже больше чем Beatles. Реально очень талантливый коллектив, каждая композиция, просто шедевр.
Real music, real musicians, thanks guys.
Eric's lead guitar starting at 11 minutes in is amazing.
Yes Glenn I saw all 4 of the genius in sheffield
City Hall. Queen were a fabulous band but not in the same class as 10 cc
Simple as.
Not Eric Stewart... He left 10cc
@@leofennk2k th-cam.com/video/4NukVqMbXYQ/w-d-xo.html that IS Eric
No doubt!
The boys could rock out with the best of them. Awesome.musicians.
Still so sweet after all these years!
Is Eric Stewart an underrated guitarist or what? And ditto Rick Fenn.
I think (with all due respect to Lol Creme) that when Rick Fenn joined the group 10cc had more flexibility. He was, (and still is) a very versatile guitarist. Teaming up with Eric Stewart gave 10cc some serious added firepower.
This Eric Stewart solo reminds me of David Gilmour. Similar sound but I fully agree that both Eric and Rick are underrated guitar geniuses.
They are great, are'nt they?
Steve 10cc were one of the finest bands ever full stop listen to Kevin godleys new album solo

The bass solo was to give Eric time to transfer onto the guitar, but he was having too much fun.
9:24. "You go Graham!" It doesn't matter if an artist has done it a million times before .. or even 'better' in other performaces .. they came up with it in the first place. LOVE these guys and this song. Those of you who saw them, you're very lucky.
saw them twice in york without eric lol, et al but still superb happy days never see the likes again I'm afraid
They were phenomenal.
What a performance, what a classic from 10cc
Rick Fenn has now become one of my guitar heroes. That intro really reminds me of Dear Prudence by The Beatles. Lol Creme and Eric Stewart are also amazing guitarists and musicians in general.
amazing song and performance
Hypnotic performance. Very nicely done.
Where we were.. as we begin... Timeless... ❤❤
There's no matching Eric's vocal on the 'the wanderer soon returns' bit starting at 3:14 and then finishes it off with that sustained, flawless note on the 'oh!'. There are very few 70's vocalist that had such a great voice as Eric imh.
I never realized until lately ,how good Eric's lead playing really is. He does some really nice licks here.
My fav 10cc song and performance. Stunning - especially love the build up towards the end from Graham's bass solo into Eric's guitar melting solo. But where is the ending of the vid?!
Graham's 10cc still perform this live still with Rick Fenn and Paul Burgess. Wonderful.

I love this song so much!❤️❤️❤️
I Love 10cc
Fantastic rendering of this song - one of 10cc's best
Even including the reputed greats with the guitar, the playing on this track takes some beating, its just so RIGHT
Как давно я вас не слушала и не слышала!!
Вы супер, люблю ВАС!!!
Listened to Deceptive Bends since it came out, brilliantly crafted songs by great musicians. My most played album.
Rick Fenn, awesome guitar.
They still play brilliantly now 😀
yeah he is good, hes a really nice person too, very compassionate
I agree with all these comments. Seen 10cc original and after godley and crème left. Brilliant. Very underrated also Eric very very underrated as a musician mostly lead guitar

um ewwwww, sorry but as a relative of Rick's who looks so much like my father ewww.
Graham doing his best Squire/Starship Trooper imitation at 9:19
I caught their Bloody Tourist tour the following year
Great show & band!
Absplutely brilliant - 10cc at their best
always loved this song
Spin the wheel and take your chances - your number may come up though the odds will be in favour of the house...... too true
When I hear this music and compare this to the crap they play today on the Dutch radio stations.......... I am sad to say, they don't make music anymore.
I totally agree.
It's the same in France, you know...
Brilliant guitar solo!!
And it's OH-SO bad in the U.S. Times have changed - the output from 'radio' isn't worth the input.
Feel the Benefit is surely the most underestimated great rock song of the past Century. Like Beethoven and Shakespeare, not always appreciated at the time - but one day it will be taught in schools!
My husband not a fan but he thinks this song is great.
My husband not a fan of 10cc really. But he thinks this song is brilliant.
My husband not a fan but likes this!
Such an underrated band.
Muito bom!!!!! Excelente!!!!! Amo 10cc
Virkelig en meget fin udgave af dette skønne nummer.....
💫✨fantastico hasta siempre....
The opening guitar on this reminds me of "Dear Prudence".
Голдмен- на басухе, вытянул соло гитару ,на раз! Мастер!!!
Эрик тоже молодчина...!!!
Ericのギターソロかっこいいー❗Cool
Still moving after all these years
Hey Eric, turn the volume up on that guitar!
Simply the best
love to hear this w/ better audio.
Fantastic
Grand music.
I feel anger and despair in the lower excessive evaluation of latter term 10cc.
In Japan as for 30 years!
That was s shame, ending so abruptly just before its ending. I can't get enough of this track.
Mr Fenns tash is scaring the kids
It's a live performance, yes a few mistakes were made, but they were definitely compensated for, brilliant performance!!!
Eric Stewart most under rated guitarist in the world and Stewart & Goldman just behind Lennon & McCartney in song writing
A decent version but not a patch on the one from the Live & Let Live tour which is absolutely sublime.
A pretty fair patch, but yea, I agree. For one thing, I didn't get off on the twangy sound of the bass in that guitar solo, which is still a good one, but... Couple of times they sound a little lost, but hey, the real deal IS ON the Live and Let Live double album.

Com orquestra ficou mais linda ainda.
Sick talent
@ForeverAlansGirl I thought Stuart Tosh was good as the dad on Little House on the Pratie, as well!
Hard to see clearly but think Eric might have bust the G string on his Les Pal,, no other explanation for the impromptu solo, different from the album version ? ive been a lead guitarist for many many years and from me to you Eric Stewart is a killer guitarist, his vibrato in insane,, seen them live a few times and he kills this solo every time , Peace |
quality song
Some of the reviews for the Deceptive Bends album didn't rate this track. I think it's amazing. It's prog rock in fact!!
