- Let's Play Battle Bugs! Battle Bugs gameplay is like an .io game. Josh fights the other battle bugs to collect their parts and upgrade his own bug. Josh also wants help improving battle bugs! The creator made the code of the game available so he wants to add in new upgrades and battle bugs! Eat other bugs and collect their parts to grow your own bug and make it the strongest bug! Battle Bugs is a free Ludum Dare game jam game!

Add a bombardier beetle body (it would explode when destroyed and do massive damage in a small area), a whip spider claw (it would flick forward when an enemy was in front of your bug), and a spinneret (it would leave a blob of silk every once in a while that would slow down whatever passes through it).

Hornet Wings ( To Fly Around The Map )
Mosquito Proboscus ( To Suck Life Out Of Them )
Leech Body ( To Latch On )
Humans ( An Enemy On The Very Last LVL)
Slug Body ( A Useless Upgrade )
Salt Traps ( Slows Down The Slug )
Meganura Head & Wings ( To Instantly Eat First And Second Bugs )
Beetle Legs ( To Go SUPER Fast)
Bee Stinger ( Stinging Causes Them To Run Away)
And wings so that each body can float and don't get attack. But it has a limit where the wings don't fly so long.(Note: The more wings you get, the more the bug can fly better).And that when the wing is right next to the head, the head fly with it.
Acid puddles, clay puddles, sugar and water would make sense for this game.
Cyberbugtion-make a attachment that is robotic that has more Heath than other parts also it can have spikes
Add a special enemy that if you were to kill it, it would do some sort of screech call which summons smaller versions of the enemy, and if you were to find a special one that was maybe coloured differently, you could gain two little bugs to help you with your battle!
EDIT: Yes I would think that level one head for everytime you level up would be great.
How about allow another head to be added to the back of the bug so you can go in either direction ?
Just going to say something simple for this, it's not a huge improvement but you can make it so you can change the bug's color/look.
I think collecting the same part multiple times should give it some sort of upgrade.
To help you with being low you could add a storage so instead of switching heads like a bad with the jaw you could just collect it for later.😀
Make a sniper(fast bullet, long range, slow reload, high damage) machine gun(short range, normal bullet spead, fast reload, low damage) and a shot gun (5 bullet spread, normal bullet spead, normal bullet damage, normal bullet range) and a mini horn head (for early stages)

Maybe add some missile launcher that fires grubs, or armor that increases health? It would be awesome if you could do that. I believe in you!
Passivly spawning blu things 1 every 10 sec at any point on map? So u can lvl up to get ur parts back
for a head you could put a spider head and it could bite off heads of other bugs :P
How about a leg attachment to your green body parts that makes you move a little faster for each one you have?
1. you should add the ability to have a team or group.2. add a shield body part.3. maybe add a waves mode?.4.make a body part that shoots like a mini gun but only a little bit more range than the normal shooter.5.add a mini boss + ( add levels, not the ones you have now in the game, ones like when you complete a stage you go on to the next as soon as you cleared out all enemies type of thing.).6. make one that drops little blocks that can be destroyed.7.make multiplayer.

Maybe you could make that you DO NOT pick up the parts that are weaker than you already have but they give you points (the little blue bugs) also make a pause button with an option to change the body parts place ;) also you can add unlockables :D Like it so he can see it
Big Shields that if someone I can ask you it will bounce off and hit them
hey josh, in the description you said that we should tell you if something was ill-considered. your spelling of apologize. hee hee. also, you should make a flying upgrade, kinda like for dragons in mope.io where they can fly over blocks but can still be attacked.

Haaaaaang on a minute! apologise is how we english spell it haha. I thought i put a Z in there :D
yeah actually it can go either way. i just never saw it that way.
maybe add a: Spinner cannon (second zone), it spins in a circle and randomly shoots bullets. Has the range of the shooter head.
Another idea is the: Homing Shooter Head (4th zone or 3rd zone, 4th if you add that), it would have a longer range (50% more) then the normal one, and it would home in on enemies. But it would have slower bullet speed, and fire rate.
Next idea i have is the: Swivel Cannon(4th zone or 3rd zone again), what it dose is it auto targets enemies, and it would have as much range as the shooter head.
The final idea i have is the: Spare head (second zone) if you pick this up you get another head when you die (looks like a head but two of them)
add potatoes in place of regular body parts because random

Make more levels like a cannon head and there is a button to press to shoot the cannon balls

Edit: and like better stuff for each area like area 1 first upgrade area 2 second upgrade and area 3 third upgrade

I got an idea if you get the head that shoot and keep getting more heads it increases the speed of your shooting. 🔫🔫

My suggestion is Isaac inspired too! Add ´orbitals´ that rotate approximately 2 body parts away from you head, like the flies in Isaac. These can deal damage, rewarding you for skillfull play, but disappear when you head does (or something along those lines). Could also add that as a main body upgrade, that would be kinda defensive then.
Alternatively, add binary upgrades like stat boosts to attack and speed :-)

I feel like you the final boss could be interely redone into a bigger more thick worm and then he drops his body and basically level 2
also yeah thats most likelly never to be done in a week so this is purely an idea

I care more about fixing the gameplay than actually adding feature
1.) You can't downgrade your parts. Nothing pisses me off more than killing an enemy and having a stupid peashooter spawn to replace my head. The same goes for my body parts. No, I DON'T want to replace my spiked body part for one with no weapons.
2.)Dropping shitty upgrades. I don't want to kill a giant creature with mantis arms just to get a weaponless body part. Just NO.

You could add an auto save feature so you don't lose everything though that be hard. HMMMM. You could have a crude selection thingy for how many bug head things you collected in your last life so you can buy/add things to your bug creature thingy and have a better chance at winning

Why not replace useless parts with flamethrowers

The fist boss is changed to have a missile head.
The missile head shoots missiles that destroys things in one hit and is A LOT slower when you use it.
The boss shoots in the speed you normally shoot dots in.

I can't help but notice that nearly every comment has words misspelled. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I just can't help but get a mental itch every time I see a word misspelled. Anyways, my suggestion is to add a head that is basically has laser eyes that can maybe apply like a fire or melting effect that deals damage over time. And I do realize that someone else already mentioned fire, but I promise that this isn't stolen. Hope you see this Josh. :3

you can't kill every bug, i tried it, they always respawn where you can't see them(out of the screen, or else, you'd have a mini-boss right after the boss.

I HAVE AN IDEA what if when u dont have an attaking part u need to lose a level to get a head an it depends on ur how much ur level more levels more powerful heads ( level means a body part)

change the coler of the of the bugs to red have a power up that gives you all your body parts back at the same time make it more commen to get those long legs and mybe have a chance to spawn in with a that head with a gun on it and have some blocks stronger, ps happy thanksgiving
