After mellowing out I think both parties had issues; I think TW'S was the personal attacks in the first response, and eclipses is acting like you "had to" or were "forced to" pay for the game. His points honestly weren't even that bad, but his insistence and ignorance was misguided
Franco, as a developer myself, I have a question I'd like to ask. If you made it payed access to help earn money to pay for your developers to increase the overall quality, why did you do it in the first place? By doing so, you have disabled premium payouts, which almost guaranteed would be making you more money. And as eclipse said, you could've also just put a donation board. In this way, you could be getting more players and also a lot more money (potentially). I know it's in alpha, but if the overall concern is money, wouldn't you be better off the other way?
I feel like the reason they do this is because these are the standard predatory roblox alpha game traditions aka "keep it paid acces untill people stop buying and then make it free" pretty much once people stop buying "release" the game do let me know if thats wrong since im not too aware of how roblox game monetization is done

Not gonna lie, the biggest anti-advertisement wasn't even an eclipse review but the writer's response. From Eclipse's video I got a rather positive opinion on the game, and just thought that I would rather play a finished game for free than the alpha version for like 50 cents.
Yeah, but bloxburg is VERY different, it’s a life simulator, yours is an obby, obbies don’t have any (or very little) replayability, like, waiting 10 years for a game to release freely, is a bad idea, especially with a 50 robux price tag on it, if you make a game cost money, and “modifiers” makes the game harder, but difficulty doesn’t add any truly new experience to your game, it’s a replay, on higher difficulty.
Pretty good point since w games like bloxburg you can mess around w the assests (or content) they already gave you to have more variety and playtime but w obbies the gamemode act as modifiers but aside from a few changes the actual courses of the gameplay doesnt change much
@@petrikhorrI never said it doesn’t add replayability I said it’s not any new, meaningful content, and difficulty can be extremely different in different games/ genres, like Doom, playing on a hard difficulty on doom makes the game feel actually threatening since you’ve played on a easier difficulty the difficulty change actually adds a bit more spice to the gameplay, while in platformers they could just make it so you have no checkpoints and everything kills you with a touch, that’s not fun, that’s just tedious, some platformers do it differently, adding new, significantly more challenging areas or just modifying whatever’s meant to kill you, modifiers add replayability, just not really any incentive to do so, and they aren’t fun to do either, of course the dopamine you get after beating a hitless run is nice, it’s temporary, and doesn’t add anything really new other than “just don’t die”

I can see that these devs are open with the community and provide good content. You cannot scam someone with a product that is this good. Game development is expensive, and they can't keep the project going without money, so they gave us the game for 50 Robux to show that they are working on it and that it's not a scam. And as for the "trust me, bro" argument, it applies to all games, they can close at any time or stop updating. But this usually happens with free games, not Alpha or Beta games. Their creators typically work hard to give us the product we deserve. :)
You can't really blame Eclipse for flaming a writer who - to the public eye, has done no visible work. Eclipse is viewing this as an outsider - you, have insider knowledge. Thus you know what the writer has been cooking and what is planned. Eclipse does not know these things, to him the writer has been sitting around doing nothing as no story has been including in the game so far. To Eclipse and many other outsiders who don't possess this info, the writer may aswell not be being paid - because Eclipse doesn't know that you wanted to put the game out in Alpha with the gameplay before adding story elements later down the line. And, on the point of the writing helping plan out levels the job description "writer" is not the job description "level designer" - so Eclipse had no way of knowing that the writer oversaw the level design. So I believe it's unfair that you're being so harsh on this point, as he simply isn't you, he simply cannot know what your plans for the game are. Not to devalue your points, but this one struck me weirdly, the man isn't omniscient. EDIT: Bro says later "YOU. DO NOT. HAVE INSIGHT. On how our development process works." Pardon the language but.. If that's the case then why are you getting on his ass about him not having the fucking Six Eyes from JJK to see that your writer is doing stuff that no-one knows about besides you and other members of staff and maybe some people invested in the game who aren't staff? I think he is getting mad about him not having insight on their development processes are because he is saying things that would create the assumption he does. In other words, he says things that would require him to actually know more information. He says the writer probably doesn't do anything, which is fair but he could've thought about it more. Kind of like the argument, if death bricks don't kill you then why are they there. If a writer doesn't have anything to do with the gameplay, then why is he there. I think this argument justifies how an outsider could realise the significance of a seemingly useless member of a development team. Clearly, they must be valued in some way or the other. He didn't have to sound as harsh as he did, BUT he honestly, and I really mean this, sounds like this always and was completely calm throughout the vast majority of the other parts of the video. It's just his natural tone, so when he is a bit more mad, he sounds a lot more mad. Also, FrancoJ did mention that learning multiple skillsets to save money on hiring would be time consuming and not as high quality as getting people who dedicated years of time into learning the skillset they offer. Eclipse doesnt need to comment on staff to review a game, I dont know which of Eclipse's videos talks about the staff or if its both of them, but if its just his reaction to the devs reaction, it sounds less like he is talking about the staff because he finds an actual problem with some of them getting paid because he doesnt see them doing anything, and more like he is being salty. TLDR: The staff shouldnt matter to Eclipse for a review of a game unless they are explicitly untrustworthy and could not possibly provide anything for the future of the game, especially when its for an alpha, although this could just be me being delusional so if it sounds like that just ignore me or something idk
No, Eclipse CAN be blamed for flaming a writer, if he has no insider knowledge on what the writer's job or contributions are / will be, then he shouldn't attack the writer based on the assumption that he's not contributing meaningfully to the game, especially saying "they are not a valuable member of the payroll" which is quite insulting to anyone pouring time, care and effort into a game. The games current lack of story / writing Eclipse COULD have critiqued more, but instead decided to personally attack the writer himself's apparent lack of contribution which Eclipse has little to no insight about.
@@cCheesie He didn't attack the writer (As far as I know), he asked what the point of paying a writer is at all if no work is done thus far - and then he stated they aren't valuable if they're doing no work. Never before now has Eclipse had ANY knowledge they planned to make this a story driven game, so a "writer" is useless. Yes Eclipse can be partially BLAMED for not sitting down and thinking "Hmmm, well maybe they have something in progress", but a counter-point to that is it's never stated to him that they have a story in the works. The easiest conclusion is "What are they paying this dude for, he's doing nothing." not "Well clearly they must have some complex story behind the scenes and just decided to push the gameplay out first." I know that the response to the Eclipse video wasn't the best, but these developers love what they are creating. All of the people who are hating on them are the same ones who would react the same way if someone like Eclipse made a video about a project they were working on. These guys aren't a company they're humans. I can see that they love this game, and they want to update it and make it one of the best games in this style. I know how difficult the process of creating a game is. I will purchase the game to give these developers some support to make the game better. And no, 50 Robux is not that much it's literally $0.63. Keep up the hard work :)

In fact, most people were against Eclipse when his original video first came out, and the negative comments didn't start flooding in until the Dev's response. This tells me that the issue people take isn't with the game itself as people are saying *now*, it's with the dev's childish response. So, just say that. Because you're not wrong, the initial response was awful. But saying that this game is low quality is just plain false. It isn't low quality, it's low in content. Because it's unfinished. People have this thing where they'll dog on things for reasons that even they themselves don't agree with, just because they don't like the people behind it. Which is an anomaly that I don't understand in the slightest. Not to say nobody is making genuine criticisms here, of course, but given what I've mentioned so far, that almost seems to be the case. coming from a 8 year game developer in scripting, VFX and building I'd like to say these points. This is after watching both your videos and eclipses, and understanding both sides. (I personally don't like how you guys handled this OR how eclipse handled this but he did it in self defense.) 1. if you needed to pay for dev's, DONT make the players pay for it. As a game dev i'm okay with putting a game as paid if you are actively working on the game, showing sneak peaks and actively showing the community your working on it. IM ONLY okay with paid games if their in "early access", otherwise having to pay for dev's or to hire people is NOT a excuse. You could get some investors to help fund the game and pay your dev's that way. I also don't know how you guys use your funds but it seems you guys have used them in a okay way. 2. Working on getting the game out of alpha is a good push towards the future of the game and is a good way to be heading, I will say my self you have a lot of dev's and if I were you I'd try to trim that down a bit if possible and I would ALSO try leaning new skills to try to get better, working on games is a good way to get better and learn more. Overall you guys are going in a good direction with the game in terms of trying to get out of alpha as soon as possible. 3. PAID ACCESS GAMES SHOULD BE HELD HIGHER THEN FREE GAMES UNLESS THEIR EARLY ACCESS. if a games in early access I can understand this, once the game is out of early access it should be held to a higher standard no matter the price. If you have to pay for the game, once it becomes free it should be higher in quality than the standard and those who bought early access should get a benefit in game if you really see this as support. if you want your game to be higher than standard, your on the right path towards getting out of alpha, if you want this game to be standard then keep doing what your doing. There's nothing wrong with being standard and it can give you growth and more knowledge towards your next game. Your on the right path, but personally, I'd go about it differently. I feel like this is just an ad, especially for the voice acting part. I don't think his main point was that it was CRINGE I think his point was that the voice acting wasn't the best, he used the word cringe to explain it better (or use it as an example for other games), and not to use the excuse that "other roblox games have terrible voice acting, so it's okay if we do it." Basically saying you guys should focus on the quality, and not have subpar voice acting and hiding behind the no standards excuse.
Impressed by this response although you did cut out quite a few points which I think you should have addressed or taken the hit on, but on the ones you did address it was solid. Makes me wonder why that writer was on the response video in the first place. From an outsiders view, the writer looks like to have done very little so far, so you probably shouldn't expect him to know that. That was my only problem with this response, didn't expect this after that catastrophe of an insult-fest response before.
eh, the game is deeper than a 4k rtx version of ToH, but I get where you're coming from the game has several unique gimmicks compared to ToH, like swap pads, turrets, moving platforms, spinning platforms, 2d sections, wall jumps, double jumps, damage bricks, heal pads, buttons, timed buttons, boss fights, box puzzles, quicksand and more things that I probably forgot to mention. the game has no shortage of mechanics to throw at you while not being overwhelming, and they still have more unique things to throw at us, especially with toxic tower and the potential of poison mechanics! when you look at the design, it does look like ToH, but they spent more than 10 minutes making each stage, and it is also ascending. Fun fact: Juke's Towers of Hell was the inspiration for Tower World and was made before Tower of Hell. Juke's Towers of Hell used to be called Kiddie's Towers of Hell, under a different name and owner who made Tower of Hell, meaning that JToH inspired ToH and TW, plus hundreds of difficulty chart obbies and other tower obbies! thanks for reading :D

From what I’m hearing and seeing. 1.) why is your refute for Eclipse’s points, what you said the first time? Isn’t that what you initially said? 2.)I completely understand the writer defense, but essentially what eclipse wants to see can be boiled down to a better Obby experience in the classic sense. So expanding the actual amount of levels to play should be your main focus, and not a story (Eclipse POV). His main problem is that there is a lack of story in the first place despite there being a writer, so yeah both sides make sense. 3.) yeah so that would also be my main problem with eclipse’s side on this. It seems you have a more grand plan for the game. But for eclipse’s view, it’s simply another obby game as of now. And because of a lack of story elements, he can only really assume you’re going for more obby. 4.) I feel like for all the good pounts both sides have made so far (I’m at 6:07), I feel like there’s a little bit of a disconnect. Eclipse views the fact that one had to pay to enter the game means it’s a game. Your view on this is that it’s funding for your game. Eclipse not seeing how making the game alpha and paid early access *IS* the donation is a little weird. The other option was simply not letting people play the game at all. With no alpha I guess. However a large problem for eclipse is the fact that you guys also haven’t updated the game “since May”, so it doesn’t seem like the game is getting updated or worked on at all. 5.)When eclipse says “forced”, he’s talking about the fact that you *can’t play the game otherwise.* 7:39 “if you are a player, and you choose not to pay for the alpha” doesn’t exactly make sense for the same reason. Especially their new battlegrounds game which had flopped recently. (Same devs) Hense the fact that he sees it as a likely scam. You made some genuinely good points in this video, like needing more developers to move out of the early access phase, thus requiring more money. There's one point you made though that really made me mad though, and I need to tear it apart. "We decided to make the game paid access instead of donation-based because your money will then get you the privilege of experiencing that progress firsthand, instead of getting nothing and having it be 'just trust me bro'" ... What? Are you joking? The moment you ask for ANY MONEY AT ALL for an unfinished game, it IS "just trust me bro," whether its paid access or an optional donation, as you are paying for something that DOES NOT EXIST YET, and is entirely up to the developer whether it will ever exist at all or not. All you are doing by having it be paid access instead of donations is that you are forcing people to pay you money if they want the privilege of experiencing your unfinished game before it's released. And if they do that, and they hate the game, that's 50 robux they're never getting back. Why not, get this, have it be for free, and then the player can decide AFTER they've played whether it's worth investing into or not? Why else do you think Steam games love having free demos, buddy? I'd love to try this game myself... but I'm not paying 50 robux for it when I'm not sure if I'll enjoy the end product or not. So instead of giving me the option to try the game for myself and then decide, which would give you a pretty good chance of actually getting some of my money, you're just going to say "No pay? To all the people commenting about how its not that deep, or that this video is for more interaction, just imagine trying to build up a game with genuine effort, and it gets shut down by a youtuber like this. One of the main opinions of a project you've worked so hard on with so many other people is now just the butt of another joke, and there's nothing you can even do about it besides put out a defence where the people who need to hear it are long gone on their side of the argument. Nobody gains anything from this situation anymore, This is just depressing.

I feel like in the end we are going to get a better version of Tower World as because of the criticism there are multiple bugs being fixed and I assume there is more of a drive to finish updates/prove Eclips wrong
I'm going to be honest I think the developers and contributors of Tower World don't really understand what Eclipse's channel is. He's said multiple times that these reviews are SOLELY his opinions. His reviews are more of "this is my opinion of the game" rather then an unbiased game review. His viewers (including me) enjoy him sharing his opinion on the game, but that doesn't mean the game is objectively bad. To him the game just falls under his standards of the reviews he does (which he said in the response video). He has his own criteria and I honestly think you guys are taking this harder than it was actually meant to be. Also his title is worded like that because he also said people were asking him if Tower World was worth money and if it was a scam, so he capitalized off this for a clickbait title because to take something from your book, he also needs to be payed and at the end of the day he's getting payed to share his opinion not an actual full review. In conclusion I think you've lowkey taken this video from Eclipse too far and should keep working on the game is you believe it has a good future.

@@guido1969 sure! let me break it down real quick: since the players who have Premium on roblox, have long hours playtime on tower world the roblox account or group under the game gets something called Premium payouts. i had gotten them before and the more time u keep the Premium player in the game the more robux. so try do the math 50 active players / avg around 4 hours maybe? (im not sure about their play time but from the other video the "writer" i believe said something about the play time. edit: the writer said something about different players having arounf 30-40 hours playtime. so trust me when i say the Premium payouts for that are good.
At this point you should've just named the current game a V-Slice and then expanded that until you could eventually release the game instead of an Alpha, most issues would've been solved like that. But yeah, better video, both sides have some points, but I do agree with Eclipse mostly, paid early access immediately raises the expected level of quality regardless of everything else. "Oh, but we need to pay our devs!" Yeah, sure, I agree devs should be paid, I also agree that y'know, that isn't an excuse, you asking for payment for a promise, which we've seen countless times not working out, not trusting this way of operation is normal. Devs should be paid but it shouldn't fall on the players to do most of that, at this point selling ideas already burned so many hands most people will be angry at it, rightfully so, so if devs should be paid, it would fall on you to get most of the payment beforehand, you already showed you can do minor projects with your other game, continue on that until you feel you have enough to make your main game.

Honestly a good response. I felt like eclipse's ignorance on the fact that it's an unfinished game that you don't HAVE to pay for is crazy. If you don't want to play an unfinished product, sure! Just wait until the game is free, and then you'll get the finished product. Paying for the game to access its early state is also for donation purposes, you don't have to contribute to it.

Franco, as a developer myself, I have a question I'd like to ask. If you made it payed access to help earn money to pay for your developers to increase the overall quality, why did you do it in the first place? By doing so, you have disabled premium payouts, which almost guaranteed would be making you more money. And as eclipse said, you could've also just put a donation board. In this way, you could be getting more players and also a lot more money (potentially). I know it's in alpha, but if the overall concern is money, wouldn't you be better off the other way?

Not gonna lie, the biggest anti-advertisement wasn't even an eclipse review but the writer's response. From Eclipse's video I got a rather positive opinion on the game, and just thought that I would rather play a finished game for free than the alpha version for like 50 cents.
Yeah, but bloxburg is VERY different, it’s a life simulator, yours is an obby, obbies don’t have any (or very little) replayability, like, waiting 10 years for a game to release freely, is a bad idea, especially with a 50 robux price tag on it, if you make a game cost money, and “modifiers” makes the game harder, but difficulty doesn’t add any truly new experience to your game, it’s a replay, on higher difficulty.

@@petrikhorrI never said it doesn’t add replayability I said it’s not any new, meaningful content, and difficulty can be extremely different in different games/ genres, like Doom, playing on a hard difficulty on doom makes the game feel actually threatening since you’ve played on a easier difficulty the difficulty change actually adds a bit more spice to the gameplay, while in platformers they could just make it so you have no checkpoints and everything kills you with a touch, that’s not fun, that’s just tedious, some platformers do it differently, adding new, significantly more challenging areas or just modifying whatever’s meant to kill you, modifiers add replayability, just not really any incentive to do so, and they aren’t fun to do either, of course the dopamine you get after beating a hitless run is nice, it’s temporary, and doesn’t add anything really new other than “just don’t die”

I can see that these devs are open with the community and provide good content. You cannot scam someone with a product that is this good. Game development is expensive, and they can't keep the project going without money, so they gave us the game for 50 Robux to show that they are working on it and that it's not a scam. And as for the "trust me, bro" argument, it applies to all games, they can close at any time or stop updating. But this usually happens with free games, not Alpha or Beta games. Their creators typically work hard to give us the product we deserve. :)
You can't really blame Eclipse for flaming a writer who - to the public eye, has done no visible work.
Eclipse is viewing this as an outsider - you, have insider knowledge. Thus you know what the writer has been cooking and what is planned. Eclipse does not know these things, to him the writer has been sitting around doing nothing as no story has been including in the game so far.
To Eclipse and many other outsiders who don't possess this info, the writer may aswell not be being paid - because Eclipse doesn't know that you wanted to put the game out in Alpha with the gameplay before adding story elements later down the line.
And, on the point of the writing helping plan out levels the job description "writer" is not the job description "level designer" - so Eclipse had no way of knowing that the writer oversaw the level design.
So I believe it's unfair that you're being so harsh on this point, as he simply isn't you, he simply cannot know what your plans for the game are.

I think he is getting mad about him not having insight on their development processes are because he is saying things that would create the assumption he does. In other words, he says things that would require him to actually know more information.
He says the writer probably doesn't do anything, which is fair but he could've thought about it more. Kind of like the argument, if death bricks don't kill you then why are they there. If a writer doesn't have anything to do with the gameplay, then why is he there.
I think this argument justifies how an outsider could realise the significance of a seemingly useless member of a development team. Clearly, they must be valued in some way or the other. He didn't have to sound as harsh as he did, BUT he honestly, and I really mean this, sounds like this always and was completely calm throughout the vast majority of the other parts of the video. It's just his natural tone, so when he is a bit more mad, he sounds a lot more mad.
Also, FrancoJ did mention that learning multiple skillsets to save money on hiring would be time consuming and not as high quality as getting people who dedicated years of time into learning the skillset they offer.

It doesnt matter that Eclipse has no clue what the writer is for because "he doesnt have insight". Eclipse doesnt need to comment on staff to review a game, I dont know which of Eclipse's videos talks about the staff or if its both of them, but if its just his reaction to the devs reaction, it sounds less like he is talking about the staff because he finds an actual problem with some of them getting paid because he doesnt see them doing anything, and more like he is being salty.
TLDR: The staff shouldnt matter to Eclipse for a review of a game unless they are explicitly untrustworthy and could not possibly provide anything for the future of the game, especially when its for an alpha, although this could just be me being delusional so if it sounds like that just ignore me or something idk

I know that the response to the Eclipse video wasn't the best, but these developers love what they are creating. All of the people who are hating on them are the same ones who would react the same way if someone like Eclipse made a video about a project they were working on. These guys aren't a company they're humans. I can see that they love this game, and they want to update it and make it one of the best games in this style. I know how difficult the process of creating a game is. I will purchase the game to give these developers some support to make the game better. And no, 50 Robux is not that much it's literally $0.63. In fact, most people were against Eclipse when his original video first came out, and the negative comments didn't start flooding in until the Dev's response.
This tells me that the issue people take isn't with the game itself as people are saying *now*, it's with the dev's childish response. So, just say that. Because you're not wrong, the initial response was awful.
But saying that this game is low quality is just plain false. It isn't low quality, it's low in content. Because it's unfinished.

coming from a 8 year game developer in scripting, VFX and building I'd like to say these points. This is after watching both your videos and eclipses, and understanding both sides. (I personally don't like how you guys handled this OR how eclipse handled this but he did it in self defense.)
1. if you needed to pay for dev's, DONT make the players pay for it. As a game dev i'm okay with putting a game as paid if you are actively working on the game, showing sneak peaks and actively showing the community your working on it. IM ONLY okay with paid games if their in "early access", otherwise having to pay for dev's or to hire people is NOT a excuse. You could get some investors to help fund the game and pay your dev's that way. I also don't know how you guys use your funds but it seems you guys have used them in a okay way.
2. Working on getting the game out of alpha is a good push towards the future of the game and is a good way to be heading, I will say my self you have a lot of dev's and if I were you I'd try to trim that down a bit if possible and I would ALSO try leaning new skills to try to get better, working on games is a good way to get better and learn more. Overall you guys are going in a good direction with the game in terms of trying to get out of alpha as soon as possible.
3. PAID ACCESS GAMES SHOULD BE HELD HIGHER THEN FREE GAMES UNLESS THEIR EARLY ACCESS. if a games in early access I can understand this, once the game is out of early access it should be held to a higher standard no matter the price. If you have to pay for the game, once it becomes free it should be higher in quality than the standard and those who bought early access should get a benefit in game if you really see this as support.
if you want your game to be higher than standard, your on the right path towards getting out of alpha, if you want this game to be standard then keep doing what your doing. There's nothing wrong with being standard and it can give you growth and more knowledge towards your next game. Your on the right path, but personally, I'd go about it differently. I don't mean this to attack anyone just to create a middle ground of, this game is standard and has high potential. Eclipse did keep in mind he had to pay for it so he gave it extra criticism but I do think he attacked you guys calling the game "a scam". Both sides are wrong and right in different ways.

Some valid points, id like to hear eclipse response since there's some things that we're not known to the public. So maybe now he could review it again but with more insight.

I feel like this is just an ad, especially for the voice acting part. I don't think his main point was that it was CRINGE I think his point was that the voice acting wasn't the best, he used the word cringe to explain it better (or use it as an example for other games), and not to use the excuse that "other roblox games have terrible voice acting, so it's okay if we do it." eh, the game is deeper than a 4k rtx version of ToH, but I get where you're coming from
the game has several unique gimmicks compared to ToH, like swap pads, turrets, moving platforms, spinning platforms, 2d sections, wall jumps, double jumps, damage bricks, heal pads, buttons, timed buttons, boss fights, box puzzles, quicksand and more things that I probably forgot to mention. the game has no shortage of mechanics to throw at you while not being overwhelming, and they still have more unique things to throw at us, especially with toxic tower and the potential of poison mechanics! when you look at the design, it does look like ToH, but they spent more than 10 minutes making each stage, and it is also ascending. Fun fact: Juke's Towers of Hell was the inspiration for Tower World and was made before Tower of Hell. Juke's Towers of Hell used to be called Kiddie's Towers of Hell, under a different name and owner who made Tower of Hell, meaning that JToH inspired ToH and TW, plus hundreds of difficulty chart obbies and other tower obbies!

From what I’m hearing and seeing.
1.) why is your refute for Eclipse’s points, what you said the first time? Isn’t that what you initially said?
2.)I completely understand the writer defense, but essentially what eclipse wants to see can be boiled down to a better Obby experience in the classic sense. So expanding the actual amount of levels to play should be your main focus, and not a story (Eclipse POV).
His main problem is that there is a lack of story in the first place despite there being a writer, so yeah both sides make sense.
3.) yeah so that would also be my main problem with eclipse’s side on this. It seems you have a more grand plan for the game.
But for eclipse’s view, it’s simply another obby game as of now. And because of a lack of story elements, he can only really assume you’re going for more obby.
4.) I feel like for all the good pounts both sides have made so far (I’m at 6:07), I feel like there’s a little bit of a disconnect.
Eclipse views the fact that one had to pay to enter the game means it’s a game.
Your view on this is that it’s funding for your game.
Eclipse not seeing how making the game alpha and paid early access *IS* the donation is a little weird. The other option was simply not letting people play the game at all. With no alpha I guess.
However a large problem for eclipse is the fact that you guys also haven’t updated the game “since May”, so it doesn’t seem like the game is getting updated or worked on at all.
5.)When eclipse says “forced”, he’s talking about the fact that you *can’t play the game otherwise.*
7:39 “if you are a player, and you choose not to pay for the alpha” doesn’t exactly make sense for the same reason. Because you aren’t a player, if you can’t play… the game.
6.)it’s good to see that the developers (presumably you) are working on this big update, and im excited to see the game at full release.
However, as my last point for now, Eclipse is a little jaded from YBA it seems. He has seen big grandiose promises, and long wait times between each update only to see YBA kinda just crumble apart with trash updates, and failed promises. Especially their new battlegrounds game which had flopped recently. (Same devs) Hense the fact that he sees it as a likely scam.
Also eclipse seems to be a little pissed from all the personal assaults so that clearly explains his tone.

There's one point you made though that really made me mad though, and I need to tear it apart.

The moment you ask for ANY MONEY AT ALL for an unfinished game, it IS "just trust me bro," whether its paid access or an optional donation, as you are paying for something that DOES NOT EXIST YET, and is entirely up to the developer whether it will ever exist at all or not.
All you are doing by having it be paid access instead of donations is that you are forcing people to pay you money if they want the privilege of experiencing your unfinished game before it's released. And if they do that, and they hate the game, that's 50 robux they're never getting back.
Why not, get this, have it be for free, and then the player can decide AFTER they've played whether it's worth investing into or not? Why else do you think Steam games love having free demos, buddy? I'd love to try this game myself... but I'm not paying 50 robux for it when I'm not sure if I'll enjoy the end product or not. So instead of giving me the option to try the game for myself and then decide, which would give you a pretty good chance of actually getting some of my money, you're just going to say "No pay? No play. Too bad." Yeah. Cause that's so much better.

by the way, really funny thing, the only point that actually makes sense is just a nothing-burger. he says "we post consistent updates in our discord" and literally the only meaningful update posted was the same one eclipse mentioned. Also I love how he acts like making moving and disappearing platforms and a couple animations in an uncreative block game are really challenging skills, besides the bosses.

I'm going to be honest I think the developers and contributors of Tower World don't really understand what Eclipse's channel is. He's said multiple times that these reviews are SOLELY his opinions. His reviews are more of "this is my opinion of the game" rather then an unbiased game review. His viewers (including me) enjoy him sharing his opinion on the game, but that doesn't mean the game is objectively bad. To him the game just falls under his standards of the reviews he does (which he said in the response video). He has his own criteria and I honestly think you guys are taking this harder than it was actually meant to be. Also his title is worded like that because he also said people were asking him if Tower World was worth money and if it was a scam, so he capitalized off this for a clickbait title because to take something from your book, he also needs to be payed and at the end of the day he's getting payed to share his opinion not an actual full review. In conclusion I think you've lowkey taken this video from Eclipse too far and should keep working on the game is you believe it has a good future.

@@guido1969 sure! let me break it down real quick: since the players who have Premium on roblox, have long hours playtime on tower world the roblox account or group under the game gets something called Premium payouts. i had gotten them before and the more time u keep the Premium player in the game the more robux. so try do the math 50 active players / avg around 4 hours maybe? (im not sure about their play time but from the other video the "writer" i believe said something about the play time. edit: the writer said something about different players having arounf 30-40 hours playtime. so trust me when i say the Premium payouts for that are good.
I think Franco and eclipse need to talk it out to really understand each others points.
At this point you should've just named the current game a V-Slice and then expanded that until you could eventually release the game instead of an Alpha, most issues would've been solved like that.
But yeah, better video, both sides have some points, but I do agree with Eclipse mostly, paid early access immediately raises the expected level of quality regardless of everything else.

Yeah, sure, I agree devs should be paid, I also agree that y'know, that isn't an excuse, you asking for payment for a promise, which we've seen countless times not working out, not trusting this way of operation is normal. Devs should be paid but it shouldn't fall on the players to do most of that, at this point selling ideas already burned so many hands most people will be angry at it, rightfully so, so if devs should be paid, it would fall on you to get most of the payment beforehand, you already showed you can do minor projects with your other game, continue on that until you feel you have enough to make your main game.

The paid alpha system isn't good for anyone, just because it worked out for Jujutsu Infinite every other dev hopped on it and now the platform is riddled with these games that just look like cash grabs, it's Eclipse's point "We're not as bad as those guys, pay us!"
Also I literally said before how they could gather the funds to make a v-slice demo, they are skilled, they have the means and the dedication to do so, but they decided to not do it like that and here we are.

@@otherlego I said Kickstarter because it's easier to grasp the concept that way, you can gather robux through many ways, donations are literally the best option, say they went with what I said and made a Demo, 1-2 towers, you like the demo? Donate for the full game, include a goal amount, it'll incentivize people to donate if they liked the V-Slice Demo.
As for funding, to quote me: "[...] you already showed you can do minor projects with your other game, continue on that until you feel you have enough (money) to make your main game."

Honestly a good response. I felt like eclipse's ignorance on the fact that it's an unfinished game that you don't HAVE to pay for is crazy. If you don't want to play an unfinished product, sure! Just wait until the game is free, and then you'll get the finished product. Paying for the game to access its early state is also for donation purposes, you don't have to contribute to it.

If you wouldn't lock the game behind paywall to "help the game future development" and actually added few tipping gamepasses, it surely would give you JUST ENOUGH funds to keep the devs who work on the game.

To be fair, to say that the devs haven't updated sine May, and then say that they 'aren't working on the game' where there are public teasers in their public discord server does suggest that Eclipse didn't really care to see whether they have actually been working on the game
