I still have VHS tapes of that world championship event, where Kim got his hand injured early against Sergei Golubitsky. and was down 11-3. He sucked up the pain and came back 14-14 when Golubitsky got that final touche on him. What kills me is that Golubitsky would brag about that bout. If Kim had not gotten injured early on, I'm sure he would have polished off Golubitsky easily. He was so on that day.
younger watchers need to know that the lights were reversed at the time of his bout against sergei....they showed who GOT hit rather than who did the hitting. and a correction...kim was never down 10-1 against sergei in 97 (10-3 is accurate)...it was 11-3 before kim ripped off 8 in a row to tie it. you guys clearly had the bout to reference....at least get it right.
