I'm sorry this video is so brief y'all!!! It was an overwhelming experience to say the least, but I filmed as much as I could!

As someone who sells vintage at markets on the regular I would definitely invest in a pop-up change room and a mirror so people can try your clothes on. Some people aren't 100% sold on something until they see it on their body.

Also a mannequin, so they can see it on some type of bod. Helps me when shopping, it doesn't stick out on the hanger for me. But if i have the visualization 😎

Don’t feel bad. I have been doing craft fairs for years. I make knit and crochet garments. I never make a lot of money and like you, I don’t want to make the small items. But, I enjoy going to them and getting to know other artists and just the fellowship. Don’t be discouraged! Holiday craft makers do a lot better.

Thank you for the encouragement!!! I feel like I've heard this from a few other people too! I did another market after this and enjoyed it a lot more. My favorite part was honestly just connecting with people and getting to know my community!! ❤️

hi lily! only a *short essay comment* today.😂😂 i know you were saying like people buy *smaller inexpensive* items at these things but please continue to make your *designer level* items for markets if you find out that you actually want to keep selling at them. also if you even let a *tiny* thought of *lowering* your prices on things you sell in general into your mind, tell *that THOT* it’s *not welcome* in this town!😂😂also im so happy for you that you got to do this!!❤❤

Yay!!! So glad to hear it was a mostly positive experience.
I’ve also felt stuck with the idea of selling at market because as you say, people mostly want to buy small things.
But when I think of when I’m looking around at a market, if I find a clothing item I really love I would definitely buy it. You just have to find the right market for your audience!
Having a mirror would definitely be a good idea for next time. Even if people don’t try stuff on, it’s nice to be able to put the items up to your body and look in the mirror to see how it might look on you.
Don’t give up, get some rest and keep creating ❤

❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for the love!!! I totally agree! mirror + hopefully a changing station for next time! and totally agree about the market dilemma - also the great thing is even if you only make one sale, one sale has a much bigger impact than if you made one sale selling small items. so its still super rewarding!

It was your first market. It takes time to build a reputation and build a network of people who can recommend your products. I personally think everything you make is unique and hand-crafted. Unfortunately, some people do not recognize or appreciate hand crafted items.

Also there are different types of markets. She definitely should go to a market mainly focused on fashion. Here in Costa Rica, you can go to a super nice building and receive people that value fashion and will support local designers and make the money, requires much more preparation and investment, and you can go to the beach market or a general market with very different stuff and public, where you find all types of people and as being in the beach, you won’t have much money in cash or your wallet. I don’t know if I explain myself
