  • This is a short video of a walk I did back in march 2016 before I started you tube. This video is just some pictures I took with some music playing over it. I started from Meeth and walked to Barnstaple but unfortunately I only took pictures as far as just before Bideford. This is a nice trail for walking/cycling its relatively flat because it's the old railway line. I'm hoping to do this walk again sometime and film it.

I knew Henry Williamson when I was a boy growing up in north west Somerset. He was a friend of other friends of my family, and would sometimes give me and my friend a lift to and from school. Mind, that was a long time ago.

Thanks for watching really appreciated but I haven't got a clue to who Henry Williamson is 😁👍

Beauty video Carl 👍. The Tarka trail is a favorite of mine, so it was great to see parts of it. Great shot looking over to Bideford mate. I used to work with a few people from there, so I have driven over that bridge hundreds of times. They used to have some crazy new years eve parties. Great stuff Carl.... thanks for taking the time mate, all the best, Mark 😀👍🍻.

Thank you Mark its some old pics but I thought I would put something together to keep the videos going. I'm definitely going to do this again one day but film it maybe when you make it down we could do a bit of this route together then head on to Dartmoor 😁👍

Nice pics Carl, be careful going to North Devon though, it can cause nose bleeds to you South Devon types, and you'll have to quarantine for 14 days on return, remember that.

looks nice chap, I am thinking of a ebikepacking trip next summer and looking for a circular route of around 100 miles (may well do Dartmoor 3rd time lucky!)

If you could find someone idiot enough to do it with you, this 100 mile coast to coast route is well worth a go. I'm sure we could organise something as it goes past my house.

Nice one mate. Would you say you'd need a mountain bike for this or is a hybrid sufficient do you think?

Hi Joe if I remember rightly any bike is fine but just to be sure if you google the route it should tell you 😁👍

@@DartmoorExplorer Cheers Carl. I'm considering a series of short bike rides and was thinking about this one. Tony Hawkes did it on an electric bike carrying a micropig in his book Once apon a time in the west country. Yes I did say carrying a micropig lol.

Any idea of the history of the 3 archways pictured in almost the last clip? There are similar ones in Plymouth on the embankment.
