  • According to The Paper, on June 17 of this year, a recent graduate from a university in Xigu District, Lanzhou, named Song reported being defrauded of 210,000 yuan (about 29,000 US dollars) by Qin and Yu of Lanzhou Fengxi Human Resources Service Co., who promised employment assistance.
Shortly after the report, on June 21, the police arrested Qin, Yu, and other core members of the operation. The suspects admitted to defrauding Song under the guise of securing a permanent position with a state-owned enterprise.

Corruption has brought down many Chinese dynasties. In CCP China, there's corruption at the top, and on every level of society. Integrity and honesty are rare.

Corruption is deep rooted, 'normal' in CCPchina society... the only way people know is to bribe your way through life.
Those scammed would get over it soon and start another round all over again bc they believe that's the only way or they might be lucky nx time😢

And a lot of governments have stopped being "responsible", with so many migrants swarming their countries, especially in Europe.

This "purchase your position" system is consistent with the military.
There is an actual price list for Senior Ranks. Lei's real talk covered it yesterday.
I recall a former Chief of Personnel with the PLA was reported to have said that in his years in that Office, 167 persons were promoted to General. 2 did not bribe him.

I wonder if new graduates who are unable to find employment are still considered students when they quote the 17 % unemployment for people age 16 to 24 ...excluding students ? If new graduates were not considered students and were included in the unemployment stats then the numbers would be much higher.. 83% employment includes graduates working part time, or doing apprenticeships for little to nothing as well as graduates working as delivery workers/Uber drivers etc.. Once you get the position, you paid for you can recover your loses by accepting bribes and eventually use your bribes to bribe others for your next promotion. Kind of a pay-it-forward pyramid scheme.

Spell checker won't work when you use 2 real words.
"False Promises" are pledges or assurances that are made falsely. This is what you meant to say.
"False Premises" do not exist. A "premise" is a foundational thought. Premises can also be a physical location.
You NEVER say "False Premises" in English except to have a starting point for a confrontation.
Aiding students in job hunting is not a confrontation with the student.

This is absolutely despicable. They're taking advantage of ignorant and defenceless children who are already under un-needed stress. These types of scams can, and quite often do lead to the young person self-deleating.
Those who don't will loose all faith in the work force and government that let them down so badly. It leads to mental health issues, drug abuse, homelessness, prostitution and many other social issues.

This breaks my heart. I know the pain of unemployment. It’s the worst feeling in the world. You feel like you’re going crazy. Your money is depleting and you wake up feeling directionless and scared. It can destroy your self esteem.
This was my experience for 4 months in the US where there’s endless options for someone w a business bachelors degree lol I’ve got.
I found a good job I love and feel very lucky. I’ve never worked as hard as these people in my life.

this is horrible. It's not only happening in China. This is nationwide type of thing. China makes most of our products in the United states. I am sure that half of these students are more than capable of getting a good paying job. Think about what they do and how they make of our products. This really doesn't make sense. They should be able to make well over the amount of time that they invest into their education. I pray for these innocent people lives. My best friend move to China to work in a pharmacy company, and he had a 4.0 gpa. There are a lot of things that the government and laws that are not right at all

Not a fan of when the 12M graduates number is thrown out. The absolute number of jobs is even higher since not everyone goes to college. Plus, they delayed retirement for older people, so less people are going to roll off.
Too lazy to calculate the net new jobs needed, but the economy needs to somehow create 10M+ jobs per year. What a total disaster.

I find it funny that someone who can't find a basic job can still somehow produce 29k$ to pay for bullshit, cause you can't be that intelligent to fall for that crap. Here in Romania I would have to work for around 4 years on median wage, and not spend any money to gather that sum. Or borrow money and wager my house or a kidney.

  • @tedzehnder961

Expectations of college graduates are too high. The idea of a degree was oversold.Only certain subjects studied are in demand. Some areas of study are geared for teaching positions that are already full of candidates or those positions are currently occupied.A country full of college graduates still needs plumbers, electricians, machinists and mechanics.People have to lower their goals when they have no experience and take jobs they would normally avoid until a job opening arises.
Grades in school doesn`t mean that person will make a great employee, one on one interviews and a company test is more informative.
Any person that is willing to pay for a job is a weak person for employment and they cement the practice of a culture that is just as bad as nepotism.
