The thing I love about the Brain Surgery sketch is that even though you can see the punchline coming from a mile away, it is still very satisfying when they deliver it!
They have quite a few sketches that do that particularly well, my favorite is in the radio-only "cash-register shop" sketch (which is also one of my favorite examples of humor through repetition, it's paced perfectly to make the main joke funnier and funnier and avoids overstaying its welcome with a couple small twists to punch things up at exactly the right moments).
Mitchell and Webb used to write for Armstrong and Miller... If I remember correctly it is what got them into doing their own sketch show. Similar to Frankie Boyle writing for Jimmy Carr which got him into stand-up.
I like the medical show written by the two writers who don't know the first thing about medicine. It's great throughout, but the crowning bit is when they use "the electric shock that's a form of medicine" at the wrong time and when it makes the patient worse the doctor says "oh no, he's poorly from too much electric!" Also, Angel Summoner And BMX Bandit. And if you want to sort of chuckle at first and then bawl your eyes out, watch the sketch in which Sherlock Holmes has dementia.
I love seeing David Mitchell on quiz panel shows like QI and "Would I Lie To You?" especially when someone says something that sends him off on a rage-filled hilarious rant on something stupid from our culture. Loving your reactions! Check out "Can People Levitate" and "Swim with a Shark"!
Linden Tree is definitely in the Top 5. I enjoy when David can rant away in the scene as he likes to in real life. Thats why I like Avocado Bathroom so much as well, his energy adds a lot.
You almost cant go wrong with M&W, but If you're looking for the sort of dark and daring humor like the KKK Sketch, these will do the trick -Are we the baddies -Avocado bathroom (my favourite) -Conspiracy Meeting (all 3 of them) -Corner shop/Gentleman (seen it titled both ways) -Insulting librarian Great find of content!
You would like The Two Ronnies, if you like more old school British skits, they're essentially the Grandfather of British skit shows, well them and Morecambe and Wise.
Well TNT thats the difference between our humours, we find humour in any and all subject matter, we don't really care if it is offensive, or even self deprecating, it all comes down to delivery of the humour, but i think you will find due to differences in our two cultures especially the spoken word, British humour doesn't always translate well into Americanese.
Mitchell and Webb -Homepathic Hospital, Conspiray theries (Aliens/UFOs, Dianna Assassination same format as Moon Landings) , Kitchen Nightmares. Also Armstrong, Miller, Mitchell & Webb as WW2 Pilots | Comic Relief
They literally never made a bad sketch in the series of shows they did. 'Conspiracy theory', 'Professor Death', 'ice cream taster' and 'Captain's hat' ...they are all excellent but then so is everything else they did!
Although written and performed well before Covid, try Mitchell and Webb, “Complete Remain Indoors Compilation” it’s nine parts of a skit that was repeated on different episodes.
The first Numberwang sketch is ridiculous. I remember watching with a friend who finally twigged the idea of the sketch - burst into a massive laugh. They did a few Holmes & Watson sketches and Old Holmes (the last one) is another silly sketch that is funny but has an ending lots of people talked about. It was their last sketch of the whole series. Finally, the one where they are off-set talking as themselves about whether 'people can fly' is hilarious too, if you ever had a relationship where you bicker with one of your best friends. Cheers.
They are FAB. Check the Linden Tree sketch, and Posh Dancing. Try Armstrong & Miller next, another super comedy duo. They have a variety of programs, films, books and even records but their sketch show was tops.
The doctor who was doing my heart catheterization was running late and I overheard two of the nurses bad mouthing him....one of them actually said " ...what he does is not that hard, but he acts like it's rocket surgery". Me and my wife just looked at each other and 🤣🤣😭
I love your reactions to Mitchell and webb, an i hope you move onto Would I Lie to You, where David Mitchell is a permanant team captian. Then you can go down the rabbithole of great English comedians like lee mack, jimmy Carr, I could go on forever
The moon landing conspiracy sketch is my favorite of the Mitchell&Web. Second favorite is any of the Sir Digby Chicken Caesar sketches. But if you’re getting into British comedy shows, give Snuff Box a try.
The Numberwang sketches by Mitchell & Webb have been compiled by someone into a playlist type thing on here, and they're well worth a watch (about 10 sketches, and the first 7/8 are absolutely fantastic!)
I've never seen anyone react to their Garden Centre Cult sketches. "The Abduction" was the first one, the "The Trials". I think you should react to those.
Try Mitchell and Webb, “Now We Know”. There isn’t a joke in the sketch, as such, but it is just inherently funny. Everyone that watches it says the same thing, “I’m laughing but I don’t know why”. ‘It’s funny but why is it funny”.
There's a long list of great UK sketch shows to check out! Might I suggest The Fast Show (Johnny Depp's favourite Brit tv show!!) Three of a kind A kick up the 80's Absolutely Harry Enfield & chums Armstrong & Miller A bit of Fry & Laurie Big Train Not the nine o' clock news & many many more!! 🤣
I don't know if ya'll have gone down the 8 Out o f Cats Does Downtown rabbithole yet, but anything with Sean Lock is amazing especially Carrot In A Box!
If you like Mitchell and Webb there are five series’ of their radio show on the BBC Sounds website. Most television sketch shows in the UK start off on the radio.
Good point. Go for me as well. Hold on a minute don't start yet as I need to go as well. Oh yeah forgot that I can pause it so please ignore that. Oh you have.
Not sure if same in USA, but in UK the phrases "not exactly brain surgery" and "not exactly rocket science" are amongst maybe over 30's, pretty co.mon phrases to use in response to a job/activity that is not too demanding or complicated. E.g. Do you know how to put up that tent? Well, it's not exactly rocket science is it!
Oh, the little tv screen is much too tiny to see! As much as I love looking at your smiles, it's virtually impossible to see what you're viewing! Try it yourself on a normal-sized phone - and outside!! I mean, we can see SO much of your room and walls behind you - could you possibly please make the programme you're watching bigger?
The thing I love about the Brain Surgery sketch is that even though you can see the punchline coming from a mile away, it is still very satisfying when they deliver it!
I was about to say exactly the same 😂😂
They have quite a few sketches that do that particularly well, my favorite is in the radio-only "cash-register shop" sketch (which is also one of my favorite examples of humor through repetition, it's paced perfectly to make the main joke funnier and funnier and avoids overstaying its welcome with a couple small twists to punch things up at exactly the right moments).
Comedy is all about timing and this is a display of sublime comedy timing.
I wouldn’t word it like that. It’s not funny in spite of the predictability, rather the predictability is part of the joke.
You expect he will say it. Instead, he raises the glass. You wait in anticipation. Then he delivers it. I think the timing made it even better.
You should also check out Armstrong and Miller. Their WWII pilots doing youth talk in clipped British accents is hilarious.
Their sketch about how the 'hitler has only got one ball' song was thought up is brilliant
Mitchell and Webb used to write for Armstrong and Miller... If I remember correctly it is what got them into doing their own sketch show.
Similar to Frankie Boyle writing for Jimmy Carr which got him into stand-up.
Wouldn’t be funny to Americans as they are unfamiliar with the slang. I’ve never seen an American genuinely laugh as the WW pilot scretches.
Ok, my favourite, "Homeopathic A&E"
This one, yes.
I like the medical show written by the two writers who don't know the first thing about medicine. It's great throughout, but the crowning bit is when they use "the electric shock that's a form of medicine" at the wrong time and when it makes the patient worse the doctor says "oh no, he's poorly from too much electric!"
Also, Angel Summoner And BMX Bandit. And if you want to sort of chuckle at first and then bawl your eyes out, watch the sketch in which Sherlock Holmes has dementia.
Mine are "heroin Christmas" and "angel summoner and BMX bandit"
"By Vectron!"
The intro was wild. 🤣 Another good reaction video. 🤩
You have to do “Homeopathic A&E”. Amazing take on quack medicine.
That’s Numberwang!
"Queen Victoria and the Linden Trees" and the "Inebriati/Knights Tippler" are the best!
My very favourite Mitchel and Webb sketch is the 'Smell of linden trees' it is hilarious... trust me, you wont be disappointed 😂
I second this! The Linden Tree sketch is my absolute favourite, followed by The Avocado Bathroom, and the Angel Summoner
Linden Tree is definitely in the Top 5. I enjoy when David can rant away in the scene as he likes to in real life. Thats why I like Avocado Bathroom so much as well, his energy adds a lot.
@MrAbletospeakHail Vectron.
My profiles on FB and Insta both say 'For Vectron!' 😂😂
That intro you guys did was fantastic, especially when it came to the last video you did. Well played.
Mitchell and Webb also had a very good sitcom called "Peep Show."
You almost cant go wrong with M&W, but If you're looking for the sort of dark and daring humor like the KKK Sketch, these will do the trick
-Are we the baddies
-Avocado bathroom (my favourite)
-Conspiracy Meeting (all 3 of them)
-Corner shop/Gentleman (seen it titled both ways)
-Insulting librarian
Great find of content!
And "The New Fuhrer"
'Avocado Bathroom' is hilarious. Neil Webb really does own that sketch with his comedy chops. Superb snarking.
First time with these guys, that was hilarious! I love British humor, reminds me of Monty Python's Flying Circus and The Benny Hill show! 😂
You would like The Two Ronnies, if you like more old school British skits, they're essentially the Grandfather of British skit shows, well them and Morecambe and Wise.
Still one of my favourite sketch shows...and thank you for the reactions!
I hope yall do more hilarious intros, I laughed so much my runny nose cleared up lol
“Touching Cloth?” is a hilarious Mitchell and Webb sketch.
I just remembered a brilliant one sketch from Mitchell and Webb. The Good Samaritan
The Doctor And The Ice Cream Taster.
Also, The Identity Killer.
Avocado bathroom and the boy with a arse, for a face are good sketches.
The green clarinet, is a must.
Itr helps if you see the proper Armstrong and Miller pilot sketches before Mitchell and Webb get involved. You lose a lot if you don't.
Actually you are so right on that @@AndrewHalliwell
My favourite is the contractor is hired by a supervillain
They literally never made a bad sketch in the series of shows they did. 'Conspiracy theory', 'Professor Death', 'ice cream taster' and 'Captain's hat' ...they are all excellent but then so is everything else they did!
"To help mankind not destroy it."
Numberwang and the snooker ones were painful. Always skipped those when re-watching!
Hail Vectron!
a lot of people say their film 'the magicians' is bad but i loved it
Absolutely love your own sense of humour and appreciation of British Humour that many of us grew up with.
You two are hilarious. Viewer from Ireland.
Tasha - next time make sure you go BEFORE you get in the ship 🤣 'Corner Shop' or 'Naming Places' should be your next stop.
Although written and performed well before Covid, try Mitchell and Webb, “Complete Remain Indoors Compilation” it’s nine parts of a skit that was repeated on different episodes.
yes! absolutely fabulous
I preferred it before *The Event*
Felt very strange watching it during COVID too
The Vectron sketch is great
By Vectron's holy claw, I agree.
I love yall that intro was hella extra. Love yall
Your reaction when you saw the second sketch was about the KKK was pretty funny :)
Fantastic backdrop guys.
I want one for my bedroom, warp 10 though.
M & W Scooby Doo and Naming new countries. Both ace. Also Garden Centres.
Try Armstrong & Miller next, another super comedy duo. They have a variety of programs, films, books and even records but their sketch show was tops.
Oh guys .. Do professor Death. Hilarious!
They made a series of sketches with 9 parts called The quiz broadcast, it's really funny.
During lockdown, those hit a little too hard
The doctor who was doing my heart catheterization was running late and I overheard two of the nurses bad mouthing him....one of them actually said " ...what he does is not that hard, but he acts like it's rocket surgery". Me and my wife just looked at each other and 🤣🤣😭
Great ìntro. Love you guys. All the best from the UK. ❤
I love your reactions to Mitchell and webb, an i hope you move onto Would I Lie to You, where David Mitchell is a permanant team captian. Then you can go down the rabbithole of great English comedians like lee mack, jimmy Carr, I could go on forever
'Couple arguing' is probably my favorite
good find, Mitchell and Webb are amazing
You have to check out the Linden trees sketch from Mitchell and Webb.
I love Numberwang! But I also know people who think it is the weakest of the M&W sketches... weirdos.
YOU TWO are hilarious
I love how you see the punchline, but you still love it :P
You should try "Peep Show: a sort of soap opera with these two. And super hans.
Another one you guys might love is 'posh dancing', which is send up of the class and pomposity of Pride & Prejudice
Homeopathic Hospital is my favourite
I've never seen anyone react to their Garden Centre Cult sketches. "The Abduction" was the first one, the "The Trials". I think you should react to those.
Try Mitchell & Webb’s “Homeopathic A&E” sketch and/or “Green Clarinet Man” 😀.
Such a great homage to The Two Ronnies and their drinks party sketches.
Try Mitchell and Webb, “Now We Know”. There isn’t a joke in the sketch, as such, but it is just inherently funny. Everyone that watches it says the same thing, “I’m laughing but I don’t know why”. ‘It’s funny but why is it funny”.
The "Green Clarinet" is a classic
Also "football"
One of my favourite sketches ❤
Also, check out Armstrong & miller.
These guys are superb. You might want to check out the sitcom Peep Show which they played the main characters. It is superb
It's a joke you can see coming a mile away, but is STILL funny. XD
Top notch guys, you get our sick Feck up sense of humour, 👍😎
Thanks for keeping in the taking a piss part. Totally Funny. Made me laugh.
Try: 8 of 10 does Countdown ...Joe Wilkinson Poem.

You guys are nuts😂
Queen Victoria meets the american ambassador & Sir Digby Chicken Caesar are good ones
There's a long list of great UK sketch shows to check out!
Might I suggest The Fast Show (Johnny Depp's favourite Brit tv show!!)
Three of a kind
A kick up the 80's
Absolutely
Harry Enfield & chums
Armstrong & Miller
A bit of Fry & Laurie
Big Train
Not the nine o' clock news
& many many more!! 🤣
One of my favorite M&W skits is the Homeopathic A&E - or, of course, "Are We The Baddies?"
Your background looks awesome!
I'd be surprised if it hasn't been mentioned yet, but you may want to catch their sitcom from the early 2000's "Peep Show"
Thanks for sharing…it’s just like home.
I don't know if ya'll have gone down the 8 Out o f Cats Does Downtown rabbithole yet, but anything with Sean Lock is amazing especially Carrot In A Box!
i like bmx bandit and angel summoner, it's so absurd lol
At least you ain't flerfs...lol
My favourite of theirs is the green clarinet one.
If you like Mitchell and Webb there are five series’ of their radio show on the BBC Sounds website. Most television sketch shows in the UK start off on the radio.
The medical spoof will be worth a watch
Homeopathic A & E
The Green Clarinet and Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.
You gotta check the old sherlock holmes sketch
You dorks laughing uncontrollably at your own joke, 🤣
Good point. Go for me as well. Hold on a minute don't start yet as I need to go as well. Oh yeah forgot that I can pause it so please ignore that. Oh you have.
Mitchell and Webb are great together, and this is possibly the greatest sketch comedy ever. But I don't like a single other thing either has done.
Oh please watch mitchell and webb, sir digby chicken caesar 😅
One question , did she flush ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
haha i hope tasha closed the hatch
Please do the homeopathy sketch 😂
The Green Flute
That Mitchell and Webb Look: Homeopathic A&E

The conspiracy sketches are good.

They're British, anything goes!
Are we the buddies? Lid tree, homeopathic A&E and Diana conspiracy
By the way, there really are such things rocket scientists and brain surgeons.
Do: "They leave the skin on?!" Mitchell & Webb
The fast show
Oh, the little tv screen is much too tiny to see! As much as I love looking at your smiles, it's virtually impossible to see what you're viewing! Try it yourself on a normal-sized phone - and outside!! I mean, we can see SO much of your room and walls behind you - could you possibly please make the programme you're watching bigger?
You Gotta Go You Gotta Go just don't Shit yourself as my Old Dad used to say.
The sketch of casino royal the james bond movie or 'are we the baddies'
"Are we the baddies" was the first one they reacted to.
Try the alien invasion sketch.
The clan outfit is originally a christian outfit and is still used in some countries today.
Just to be safe I stay away from both 😂
