I don't think the Packers want Willis getting any meaningful time this year other than when they have no choice because Willis makes Love look bad. Love was missing right and left and making stupid mistakes then 5 games ago it appeared the LaFluer started limiting Loves throws big time to try to contain the mistakes. If they let were to let Willis play more they would have a QB controversy. Love missed a ton of throws to open receivers yesterday yet again, that will not bode well in the playoffs.

As a Packer-owner and a fan since I was pretty much born (25 years), I have to agree whole-heartedly that the Packers have a huge advantage with not having a single owner. From Farve, to Rodgers, to Love, you cannot look at the Packers organization and call their success a fluke. Developing an organization and building a team is something best done long-term.

Colin, great take on good ownership with Kansas City, the Rams, and the Patriots, but I think you missed the big one: the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Rooney family’s hands-off, consistent approach-three head coaches since 1969-sets the standard for stability and long-term success in the NFL.

Packers fan here… very insightful commentary! I was just thinking about this the other day… about how the Bears have been hamstrung by their owners for decades now. The really sad part is that the dysfunctional dynamics can ruin the careers of talented young players… good coaches, and staff.
Without the influence of George Halas the Packers probably would have folded as an organization. As Packers fans I think we should encourage the Bears fans to buy out their team. Being owned by the community is a big advantage for the team, their fans, the city, and the league.

You gave 2 great reasons why the NBA is failing but there is a third and I've been harping on it for 15 years and nobody wants to say it... THERE ARE TOO MANY DAMN TEAMS!! I could go on but I'll wait for another pod that focuses in on the NBA issues again, just like the one you just had with Nick Wright.

I own Packers shares and this is an interesting take, proving again that CC remains one of the best in the biz. But I have to rant about something off-topic. Like other streaming services, Google essentially extorts money from their customers by bombarding their service with ads, hoping consumers will get frustrated enough to pay for ad suppression. So for videos like these to embed ads during content production feels like a slap in the face FU to those who already pay to NOT see them. But such is life I guess...

The defense isn’t even healthy yet and the two running backs behind Jacobs are really good they just don’t use them much

It's so funny that everyone crucified the Falcons for taking Penix at #8. Well it turns out a 36 year old QB coming off an Achilles injury isn't a sure thing. QB is by far the most important position in sports. How many teams are still looking every year. Teams should draft one any chance that can when their starter is aging and expensive. I personally as a Packer fan loved the Atlanta pick. Penix may turn out to be a franchise QB, what would they have if they didn't draft him? They'd have a typical backup with no chance moving forward, now the have a chance to make the playoffs and start a new era. Teams make the mistake of drafting QBs when they are desperate instead of taking one when they have the chance to do so.

Just a lost season.

Record setting QB hits. #32 Running team. Defensive is really closer to Top12 at best look at the full picture it doesn’t offset their holes. Rodgers play is actually good considering he has had 14 tipped passes!! OL sucks

Hate to get political here (forgive me), but the gap between rich and the rest of us has widened dramatically in this country. The next Presidential cabinet is going to be all billionaires. The tax cuts for the wealthy made them more wealthy - and us poorer. Erratic, self-serving owner behavior in the NFL is a microcosm of what's happening elsewhere.

CFP playoffs, 12 is too many. Take the conf. champ from the 5 major conferences (makes each conf. relevant again), best non CFP team, and then the highest ranked 2 teams left. Also, use the bowl system so there are no home games, even the playing field. Makes for better competition and keeps from concentrating power too much.
