I have that exact same truck. The best thing that I've done so far out of all my mods was to get rid of those god awful Goodyears and replace them with BFGKO2s. Changed the entire attitude of the truck offroad. Those Goodyear tires are the worst!
Nice camera work. But your videos would be even more interesting if you would show more of the actual install of the add-a-leafs, shims, etc. and show the actual parts before installation. You also could have shown the broken clips and center caps you were mentioning. Though nicely done, too many sweeping shots around the vehicles, almost more like a Toyota commercial, than a video about 88Rotors. Just trying to provide some constructive criticism to help out, not to bash.
Funny you mention the center caps. I was tinkering with my truck today and noticed that one of the center caps was loose! You are correct, the ring is a terrible design, and one of the plastic tabs looks like it's on the verge of snapping! I only have 400 miles on the truck and it's something I will definitely keep an eye on!
The lift will have no impact on the speedometer, only the tires. The speedometer will be off by whatever percentage difference in circumference the aftermarket tires are compared to the stock tires. For example, for a 33” tire the difference in circumference may be 8% larger than stock (note that it depends on the tire make and model, as not all 33’s have the same circumference). Thus, the speedometer (and odometer) in this example would underestimate by 8%. This would also translate to inaccurate readouts in your vehicle’s fuel consumption and range displays, if so equipped.
I wan to put on 285/70/17 with the fox factory suspension what i need tplo fit those tires with the TRDPRO 17 inch rims what spacer do i need in front and rear ?
How much more of a lift can you put on the trd pro? I just got a 2019 trd pro but want it lifted 3” witch out removing my trd fox shocks that came on it. I wanna run 33s also
I don’t have personal experience, but I’ve heard the westcott designs shim lift for the TRD pro firms up the ride very slightly, which could be a good thing because the stock ride is on the soft/slushy side. I’ve also heard the Icon add-a-leafs have the best ride.
Wait… Did I hear that correctly about the TRD Pro having faulty clips for the lug nuts from FACTORY??? I hope Toyota ain’t cutting back on quality control again like in 2007-2010?! 🤷🏽♂️
This uses a front shim where as Westcott uses a preload collar to push the spring up. Westcott gets you half an inch taller, but you preload a spring to achieve that.
Not easy to get. We’ve reached out to Toyota distribution and it’s not readily available for sale. Hoping we can get some in in the future though. People love them!
Hey 88rotors, what kit did you use for the front end on the 2020 Trd pro at the very beginning of the clip? You said you used a shim and a spacer? What size of shin did you use for the front coil? Was it a shim that preloads the coil or does it sit on top of the hat? I’m trying to figure out what kind of spacer I need to achieve 3 inches in the front. Cheers. Waiting for your reply.

Damn that first black one looks great
Who else is watching this as an ASMR? For some reason it's so relaxing to watch Tacoma get upgrade!

What size tires did you get?
Ye what size, son?
@@flounder what size duratrac did you fit with stock suspension? Do you think they're too noisy?

Nothing but the best in L.A bro
At least you could drive there bro! Damn, I live in Hawaii. 😩
I’m in Fremont CA, I specialize in Toyota’s also. Look me up as Midnight Garage. Thanks!
What brand spacer kit was used on the 2020 Tacoma TRD pro?

Great idea ☝
Another great Taco video. Found a company that makes the new Pro wheels in a 17x9 zero offset. No center cap issues. Look great.
Replicas are just not the same. Especially in a larger diameter, IMO.
Usually I would agree but in this case they look exactly the same.
@@davidwethington9320 who makes them?
@@brokenwrench404 Alphas auto parts. EBay. Still look great. No issues
@@davidwethington9320 I’m having trouble finding these wheels on eBay. Are they still around?

I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD pro. Will that lift and tire size put the speedometer off a little bit or a lot?

I emailed like 4 times never got any responses 😪
Same here.......very disappointing
greetings fron Chile and Bolivia south america great video we love the channel
Thank you!
is this the Westcott TRD Pro package?
On Tacoma TRD pro 2023 , 285 need wheels spacer to clear new red UCA? Wheels spacer is safe?
Is the Bilstein 5100 ome springs and add a leaf the popular set and least expensive? Compared to Fox,icon, and Kong’s?
I wan to put on 285/70/17 with the fox factory suspension what i need tplo fit those tires with the TRDPRO 17 inch rims what spacer do i need in front and rear ?
Are there similar options to lift a tundra trd pro 1 inch?
nice work! I'm thinking a leveling kit?
What 285's did you put on the stock TRD Pro wheels? Most seem to want wider rims than the stock 7" width wheels.
I want to keep my stock wheels and upgrade to bigger tires do I need to put a spacer on the wheel hub?
Are you lifted? Depends on offset too
And tire size
I have a thing for Tacoma’s in general
How much more of a lift can you put on the trd pro? I just got a 2019 trd pro but want it lifted 3” witch out removing my trd fox shocks that came on it. I wanna run 33s also
I went with a 2 inch leveling kit spacer on the front and a 1.5 block on the rear so it stays leveled.
Do you lose ride quality with these shims?? Also what add a leaf would you suggest?
I don’t have personal experience, but I’ve heard the westcott designs shim lift for the TRD pro firms up the ride very slightly, which could be a good thing because the stock ride is on the soft/slushy side. I’ve also heard the Icon add-a-leafs have the best ride.
Link for the spacers in the front (what size?) and add a leaf option?
How much would all that work goes for on the first tacoma trd pro go for

What is the difference between the Wes Scott lift and this one
This uses a front shim where as Westcott uses a preload collar to push the spring up. Westcott gets you half an inch taller, but you preload a spring to achieve that.
You don’t even say what lift kit you are using.
Well for anyone wondering, you’re using a Westcott liff.
I’ve looked all over where can I find these 2020 trd pro wheels

That's my TRD pro. I used Tuff Country 1.5 Inch Suspension Lift System - 51025. This comes with 1 1/2" spacer for front and aal also 1 1/2" for back.
1.5" spacer. Tuff Country 1.5" lift kit includes that with AAL. Part # 51025
Keith Kim so your truck is a 2020 Trd pro?
@@Mu5cle55 yes
That black TRD PRO is mine.
Does adding that shim mess with the Fox suspension?
It probably firms the ride very slightly as any spacer would.
Great vid but without a regear that thing is gonna be a slug
Can I use that lifting kid on 2018 Pro!?
Sure can.
88ROTORS have the part numbers of the add a leaf, shim size and spacers you used? Looking to do the same thing but I’m on east coast.
Those wheel center caps are cheap.
