I grew up in the stockyards, we lived about a mile and a half from the slaughter pins. My granddaddy work for Swift s as a butcher. When the cattle would come in on the rail cars you could hear them balling from the house and the smell of manure was overwhelming. I was about 5 years old and I asked my grandaddy why did we have to live where it stunk so much. His answer was Knothead anytime you smell that manure you better know it's dollars in our pocket and it put s food on that table and don't ever forget it."I never have"
