I bought my first scope. Dumont 2100G. Channel 2 was out when I purchased it. Ch 1 works just fine. I’ve tried to find a service manual with no luck. After watching this video I have a better idea of where to look and how to chase down my missing signal on Ch2. Also my 4v calibration reference is only 2v. Not sure there but the best way of finding out is just do the darn thing.
    Great Video.
    God Bless

I use to test 12.5 Mhz IF strips for a Military ADF receiver that used the exact same construction . They used the same Teflon solder cups for all the components and similar metal boxes to keep everything RF isolated. All back in the 80's for me. Almost took as much physical hardware to construct as components 🙂

I'm impressed with how quickly your channel has been growing, it is massive growth, well done, I wish my channel was growing at that rate !

Another problem with these rigs is Metallic Whiskers growing inside the case.

Might pay to check those carbon composite resistors in case they have gone high resistance, like they tend to do.

When working on wavetech have several tantalum caps ready.

Fascinating piece of Kit. If band 1 is output when neither transistor is on, could you not try it with the unit unplugged, that way diode D9 should conduct naturally.

I believe that I would check to see if the physical switching is being performed correctly. In other words, is the band 1 switch doing what it is supposed to.

I was waiting to see how long it took you to figure that out.

1122 videos! I enjoy watching your great variety of electronics, etc. I continually get suggestions for old videos which I enjoy watching. I appreciate your playlists but the variety is too great to categorize them all. Could you create chronological playlists including perhaps 100 videos in each list. This would allow me to peruse and watch your opus in an approachable way because scrolling through 1122 videos is too much!
I enjoy your sense of investigation.
    Thanks

From watching the whole series I can tell you didn't read the manual WHERE IT DESCRIBES EXACTLY HOW TO OPEN THE CANS! Plus 90% of the other problems you had! The beauty of video editing is you can (if you are smart!) edit out the stupid stuff you do so you don't PROVE you are a complete dork! You may be a dork but you can come across as very competent! :)

I like to show the warts. I think it is important for people to see real life and not always perfect polished videos. I believe that it can be a deterrent to anyone trying to live in this non-perfect world. I can look in the mirror and be very happy with who I see. If you want perfect non-dork content, then it is easy to not click on mine.
