I adore this song. Favorite song on this album and my second favorite just behind Tessellate in their discography.

totally agree with both .
It's so hard to get a ranking.. Don't forget Matilda and Taro. But also Warm Foothills.
I love that near the end when Joe sings in the background it's improvised (even on the record, to the point where none of them, not even Joe, knows what he says) however it's really frustrating not knowing the words because whatever he sings sounds absolutely gorgeous.

Cheney Ramos I think you pretty much nailed it! Can't argue with any of it...
(Although I'm so susceptible to stuff like this, like on Ghost Hunters where they 'capture' some muffled noise on their hightech e.m.f wotnots and I think "What the hell is that supposed to be?"...but then they replay it with words up on the screen like 'so cold here' and I'm like "woah of course it is, how did I NOT hear that the first time"....

I really love this song. I honestly think its better than Bloodflood (part 1) but that's just my opinion. Definitely one of my favourite songs from their second album
I used to prefer part 1. but now I think I like part 2 a lot more.

Amo tanto música que essa é mais uma das que eu agradeço a oportunidade de poder tê-la ouvido nesta única vida que tenho. Até porque o meu amar musical chega a lamentar as que não terei a oportunidade de ouví-las por causa da minha curta existência. Chego a sentir arrepios quando a ouço! Tudo que eu queria ao compor/ produzir uma música, é que alguém sentisse arrepios com a minha obra. Muitos querem dinheiro ou fama e acham que isso é o ápice. Penso que estão enganados! Só se atinge o ápice quando se faz alguém transbordar ao menos uma vez na sua música/ composição. Nessa eu sou líquido sem limites. Não só transbordo como não há nada que me retém!
The alt j are the best band in the world in recent years. They are amazing. I love them.
Just saw them a few days ago in Upper Darby, PA....epicccc....didn't expect all the awesome flashy lights synced up with the music, made it so much better, not that they need all the flash but holy damn was it an amazing show...

I think it's mostly right apart from "I waited I waited here" I think it sounds more like " I waited out until" I could be wrong tho
Based on this particular live version, I think that your lyrics is correct, but the in the album version of the song it's a bit different.

I love listening to Alt J live, but one thing I have noticed is that the main singer always sounds out of breath, so the long notes sort of end awkwardly, mainly at the verses of songs. Anyone else?

Listening to it on the album I always thought he was saying 'yeah she loves you Leon' like from their unreleased so Leon since they had parts from Bloodflood and Fitzpleasure in this song. I'm almost definitely wrong though
I'm a really big fan of alt-J, but i find it weird that they're not able to bring a WOW effect in a live performance ... I mean... this song is a masterpiece, it's supposed to be loud AF, to be big, to be heavy and magnificent, it's supposed to get trough your fucking stomach and gets you chills... but live, i just see a bunch of nerds with no emotions
Hmm well if I may respectfully disagree, I don't think this song should necessarily be big heavy and magnificent. I think it's more of a tender slow-ish song that should be played in a very heartfelt manner. :-)
I guess I can agree with you on this particular version, but on the album version, with the crescendo of the strings intruments and drums, i can't contain the rush of emotions and the envy to turn up the volume
I know this is an old ass comment, but when I saw them at firefly 2 years ago, they had a big sound
I saw them live for the first time after posting this comment, it was a very good show, voices and instruments we're very clean, i was not disappointed but i wish they would have play a bit louder at somes times... but ... the crowd .... my oh my, i never saw a bunch of disrespectful jerks like this, everybody chatting during slow song like Adeline ruining the whole thing
