No question about it! Even cut the top off the car and had a spaceman in the driving seat. Also the "Don't Panic" display from Hitch Hiker's Guide... you have to love the showmanship and sense of humor in SpaceX and Elon Musk.

This was the opening scene from the animated movie based on the hardcore comic. It was a bizarre movie, both salacious and vulgar and violent but also wildly creatively fanciful in some scenes
Nerd Time: So the top of the space shuttle opened to reveal the cargo bay not the bottom. They could have just shown the shuttle do a roll then drop the corvette. It’s almost like they were super high making this movie and/or didn’t care that much about the animation.
The space shuttle first flew shortly before this move was released in 1981, which means the animation for this movie was done before the space shuttle's first flight. Since most people never saw the cargo bay doors open until they saw it in space, I think the animators can be forgiven in this instance. They were going off of pictures and drawings of something that hadn't even flown yet.

Gentleman1147 : given how overpowered KSP's reaction wheels are, I think you might be able to keep it oriented so that it acts as a lifting body, and land it like an airplane, only opening the chute once it hits the road! (Which I think is the effect they wanted to go for here, only it didn't work out in the animation)
It was, but to me, this works better for this part, and "Radar Rider" works better for the B-17 Scene. But that's just My opinion. Either Way, it's epic!
Have to disagree, radar rider suits this so much better. Heavy metal is tied to b17 also. The songs shouldn't be interchangeable. It's how the movie did it so its how it should stay. Still appreciate the upload tho, just my take on it.
