- China attacked Vietnam in 1979. Common perception is that border disputes and repatriation of ethnic Chinese by Vietnam was the trigger for war. The actual reason was different it was the desire to achieve regional hegemony in Indo-China region by China, Vietnam the USSR and the USA. The recollection of events reveal conspiracies, pretentions, deceits, inaccurate perceptions about each other.
Unfortunately Vietnam became the cockpit of war between Giants in the region.
