if you pick dan you're literally declaring that you already won, if you beat a dan main, you gain nothing, if you get beat by a dan, you're forever disgraced.
Dan is actually very solid character, his versatility when paired against any character especially Ryu is very good. He maay not be the best but if played right can virtually destroy anyone.
