    Hi Marie! I made this for my boyfriend to try and followed your recipe exactly It came out of the foam bottle super nice but when he tried it, it didn’t foam up as much as a shaving cream from the store would. Do you have any recommendations on how to make it thicker and foam up more on the face? Thanks!

    • @alip.
      @alip. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm wondering the same thing. For this, they recommend adding corn starch or more glycerin on the internet, but it would be nice to get information from a professional.

    Hello,
    I watch your videos with great admiration. Thank you very much for sharing your recipes with us.
    I have a question for you, I purchased a shaving foam similar to yours from a local dealer. However, since the product uses too much aerosol mixture in it, the foam does not last on my face and disappears immediately. How can I solidify the foam I use and make it more permanent on my face?
    I wish you continued success.

    Hey, Marie! I accidentally created a scent blend that had a definite "powder" note. I remember lavender and amrys were two of the EOs, and I keep thinking there was a third EO in the blend. I'm out of town now so I don't have my notes. You might try starting with the lavender and amrys, then tweaking from there.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe

      Mine didn't turn cloudy during the cool down phase, but you may need to include a solubilizer like polysorbate 20.

I dont how ever have Caprylyl Capryl Glucoside but I do have Polysorbate 20 and read it your blig that I can substitute it, but I was wondering would I need to add anything else besides poly 20? And also do you have an idea of how much poly 20 I should use in this formula? Not quite sure if a should use the same amount as Caprylyl Capryl Glucoside.
    Thank you always for your amazing videos!!!

      Hi..very nice..would you please tell me is it for men face shaving too or just for women?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Polysorbate 20 isn't a good alternative for C/C glucoside in this recipe. C/C glucoside can be used as a solubilizer, and in cases where it is used to solubilize essential oils, polysorbate 20 can be used as an alternative. However, in this recipe it is being used as a surfactant, so poly20 is not a good alternative as it will not perform in the same way.

    How do you calculate the recommended usage for Cocamidoprpoly Betaine and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends a lot on the desired end consistency of the end product-obviously something like a shampoo bar will have more of the solid one, while something like this that needs to be really thin is going to have more liquid surfactants. I typically start with 2:3 SCI:Cocamidoprpoly Betaine and go from there.

      There is no hard "need" for the pH for this formulation as none of the ingredients are pH dependent. Generally speaking, ~5-6 is good for cleansers, but if made as-written that's about where the pH should fall on its own. Happy making!

      Many, many ingredients fall under the category of "surfactants", including many conditioning surfactants-and "surfactants" and "stripping" do not have to go together by any means! This formulation uses very gentle surfactants AND contains a conditioning ingredient as well.
