I’m a dop, gaffer, etc. mostly been working with lighting, but I am super burnt out and injured so I’m looking to make the move to production, but I’m having a hard time convincing people to hire me as a PA as all my contacts have already out me in the cinematography box and they can’t seem to take me out of it, any tips for the transition/mix of those two?
If off the bat you mention your injury, I’d hope people would respect that and hire you for what you’re asking for! Just transparency is key & advertising that role (word of mouth, or posting about it on socials)
The title of this is pretty misleading. These are tips on what to do to keep a job as a PA or how to get rehired as one. Not how to get a job as a PA if you’re just starting out and not yet in the business as the title implies. Should really change that.
