    What are your tips for new Megaten players? :)

      Although I agree that you should build the Nahobino as you see fit, I strongly advice against making a physical magic hybrid build.

      @re9029 Care to share why? When I build the protag, I try to make sure I have a balance of phys and magic attacks to cover skills that my demons don't have.

    If I had to give some tips to newcomers it'd be 1. Always use buffs/debuffs. 2.Don't forget you have items that can do damage and or remove buffs/debuffs. 3.Try to have a focused build. I made the mistake of having random skills that seemed cool but barely scraped by... 4. If possible, never have the MC weak to light/dark at any point unless you know you can cover a weakness or won't be insta killed. 5. Magatsuhi critical is best used when you have no glowing press turns so you can have at least 8 turns in total. 6.Use spyglasses on mitama and hit their weakness with a shard or gem item if you don't have the appropriate skill. 7. Save your Mp items for boss fights. That's really it. Hope everyone enjoy vengeance!

      Hey when you say try to have a focused build what does that mean? like im new so i'd prefer not anything too spoily but can you go a bit in-depth on what you mean...i have so many questions while playing...but i can't remember them now...like i versed the first boss, normal, Drake lvl 15...i won but my party was wiped, everyone but the Nabahino ...(did i spell that right?) so even if i have extra party members they dont automatically come out when one dies? and changing a party member takes a turn right? so if i have 3 fallen members...i have to waste three turns changing them in? Should i automatically change members when they're low health, ig its situational....as my main party usually is tailored to hit weaknesses, like i could hit weaknesses and then the second turn switch ? idfk ...also if i lower the enemies defense does that affect magic atatcks too? like other jrpgs have defence and sepcial defense or defense and resistances...or is there no way to lower resistances?
      Like im ngl, im not gonna waste spyglasses...cause i heard a strategy was using a spyglass and then restarting the game after finding out the weakness for a big boss...to me thats no different than just looking up the boss on google...so ima do that cause to me if im gonna waste time using a spyglass and then reset it...i'll just save myself the hassle and look up the monster.... if i can remember some other questions i'll ask them if thats ok

      @@Red4350 When I say (focused build) I mean something like a strength/agility build. Or a tank build (Vit) with support skills. Trying to balance everything will overall lower damage output. But don't worry though as there are items that let you re-allocate all your skill points if you don't like your current build for the Nahobino.
      Also, yeah if a member dies, you have to manually revive them, which takes a turn, and then summon them back on to the field which gives a flashing press turn.
      Change party members only when you feel it's right depending on the situation which that also gives a flashing press turn.
      As for spyglasses use them. The game gives you a crap ton in the overworld anyway and you can buy them from cadaver's hollow. Check weaknesses on bosses especially mitama and just go through with the fight instead of immediately restarting. Using 1 turn to find out their weaknesses is better than blindly attacking them and potentially getting nulled and losing more press turns in the process. Hope this info helps you and clear some things up!

      @@ultimate8948 Ah i see, rn im going like 75% strength and 25 % vit for the Nahobino...i read that he gets some good physical attacks late game cause right away i had to google strength or magic when i realized i'd be doing the allocating...ig a good question would be if going physical attacks, you're sacrificing gaining turn due to magic being the one to give you the extra press turn? Im guessing Physical must be good enough to compensate for an extra turn? Also you mentioned Agi, im so used to enemies missing on random unless the class is like a thief or something that really relies on it...but ig since you build your points agi is useful?

      @@ultimate8948 I know i'll have to look up a specific guide to miracles and essence fusion but any tips for that? So far with miracles some stuff is pretty obvious, like im leaning towards expanding my demon stock...skill slots, all the fire ice ect masterys im staying away form as i dont get it all yet...i dont get " raise fire skill potential by 1" is that just like if i have agi+1 it will become agi+2? I dont use my magatsuishi (can't spell it) and theres one miracle for 150 essence that will slightly recover my party hp and mp if its full ...i feel like thats pretty decent but its alot of glory at the same time

    • @ultimate8948
      @ultimate8948 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Red4350 Physical can also be good for generating press turns as well as there is a move that guarantees critical, and passives that increases crit rate even further. And yeah, Agi build is typically good with str as it increases the chance for crits I believe as well.
      As for the Mastery's, you don't have to worry about increasing those since your more so focused on str except the phys one, but what those do is it increases the attack power of the corresponding element along with decreasing the mp cost which is really good. Also depending on which you buy it will go up by an interval of 2 instead of 1. For example, the first fire mastery you get would increase fire skills by +1 but the 2nd one you get increases it by +2 so now you have a total of +3 on every fire skill along with lowered mp cost.
      And for the magatsuhi passive that's 150 glory, that's also good as it generates passive hp/mp and it scales the more you have later down the line hence why it's a bit costly. It is worth it though as it makes mp management a bit easier and there's even more miracles down the line that helps and even stacks with it. Hope this helps!

    A general thing is the Talk command can be used to end fights if you have the demon already on your team. It's a better option than running away as you can get freebies from the demons sometimes.

    These are all wonderful tips!! My one tip which I've learned from playing both smt and persona is when you recruit demons, dont be so quick to hand them your money. If you are lower level and still early on in the game, I would recommend saving your macca to buy things you need vs trying to persuade a demon to join you and risking it failing and losing your money. This changes later on as you level up and advance cuz by then you'll have more money and better way to get more money. Other people no doubt had different experiences with this but its my 2 cents. Anyway Im really excited to get back into the world of smt v😆

    Another way of thinking about the press turn system is that you actually have a maximum of eight turns but have to fulfill certain conditions to gain an extra action.
    In other games doing something like, say, switching a party member either costs an action or it doesn't, which is awkward in both cases because there's either no consequences for switching, as in FFX, or too much consequence for switching, as you might argue to be the case with Pokemon where the enemy gets priority on the next turn if you switch out.
    In SMT, switching costs an action but alss _gives_ an action so that, in effect, switching is free in terms of the number of actions you _currently_ have, but lowers the number actions you _could_ take that turn.
    Likewise, you don't get stuck in a situation where you either have to heal or attck; if you can hit the enemy weakness, you can do so and gain an extra action and then use _that_ action to heal, apply buffs, etc. You can multitask without just infinitely wailing on your enemies.
    It's a really flexible tactical system that still manages to be fair. It's so fair it even feels unforgiving at times and leads to a lot of, "Thank you, Shin Megami Tensei!"

  • @amanofnoreputation2164
    @amanofnoreputation2164 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Type coverage and buffs are really important, but as enemies have fewer and fewer weaknesses in the late game, coverage declines in relevance as you opt into physical and almight damage and buff/debuff become even more relevant. So don't worry if you don't have the perfect setup with all your bases covered in the early to mid game. (You start with a very limited pool of ability slots anyway.) Focus on type coverage and shoring up your own type weaknesses first, then worry about buffs. But any buffs you can keep in your back pocket right away will be usefull.

    something id like to add that’s less of a tip but more of something to keep in mind is that there are multiple endings and, according to reviewers, your choices of dialogue do determine which ending you get in the canon of vengeance (but not in the canon of creation)

    • @pepperonidrizzle2401
      @pepperonidrizzle2401 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Quick correction!! I think you mean the Canon of Creation (the one that was in the original SMTV). I'm not sure if Canon of Vengeance has multiple endings, though I could be wrong

    • @ancientazem

      @@pepperonidrizzle2401 Canon of creation's endings are all based on your final response to a single question at the end of the game. If your alignment doesn't match up with your choice you have to pay macca but otherwise you get to choose what you want. As for cannon of vengeance, the developers have confirmed there are at least two different endings to it's story

    I was on the fence with buying this game, gamefaqs says its "tough" which is 4/5 on average difficulty throughout all game...as someone who loves jrpgs i dont want a cakewalk game, but i also dont want something thats gonna stress me tf out, as i play mainly after a long day of work, which is stressful already...i usually play games that are 3/5 which is the "just right" difficulty average...yeah yeah i should get gud...ik w.e. lmao...but i seen this for 40 bucks on sale at gamestop, new not used either and i couldnt believe it, i had to double and triple check that it was vengeance, cause ik it just came out, and its supposed to be 60 bucks...but i got it, for 40 thats a steal.. and i refuse to play on casual...i'll do normal so if anyone can give me some more tips i'd be very appreciative ...im like a bit over 8 hours and its very good...def did die sometimes to higher lvl side quest enemies lmao...also picked Vengence to play first even tho i probably should of picked creation...
