Of course Indian rice ( Basmati) that you have in US or Canada, is bland, but most kinds of the "Iranian" rice are not bland, they taste very delicious even without salt or oil or butter. and also your home ( not just your kitchen) would be filled with a nice aroma when you're cooking them.
