Notice how as the evening progresses the fire looses intensive dramatically. This is becouse the humidity increases at night (usually, and depending on climate). In this area (NE OK) we rarely get wildland fires at night. They occasionally start from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm but most often start (or get out of control if it was a controled burn originally) at 1:00pm to 4:00pm. After 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm fires often start loosing intensity and become much easier to control. But that is not always the case. If the humidity does not heavily increase, and the wind is still blowing, the fire will be just as dangerous as it was at 3pm, with the added danger of darkness.

why don't you guys wear your yellow's and green's? I thought that you had to wear them when you work with brush fires.

There isn't a specific color they have to be, at least not in Oklahoma. Before we got our new nice wildland gear in the video, we had all yellow. One of our neighboring departments wears yellow/green tho

@@qryto5939 the training and handful of small grass fires that are actually like in this video aren't mutch hard work, but the ones where we're hiking into the forest up and down canyons with leaf-blower packs? Yeah those are long days (and the majority of our brush fire calls 😂)

The area is highly prone to wildfires, so the homeowners asked us to burn off some fuel, to protect their house. Perfect training opertunity for our new guys too

What was he supposed to be doing. He wasn’t listening to any command, he just sat there waiting to be told what to do. This is training, I was getting frustrated watching this he wasn’t listening.
