Hi Bond,I like your collection of Honda's and enjoy your videos. I have a dc2 which had a similar noise, it ended up being the bolts being loose between the four branch manifold and the catalytic converter. So I'd say check all them exhaust bolts and gaskets for leaks.
Can fit another air assist valve if you want Need to take rocker cover off and trim a bit of pipe to airbox to fit and lambda socket fits to turn but some say not needed but to keep original
We got the ep3 in the states, I just wish we had gotten the hatchback in regular trims other the si. I rarely see them on the road and rarely see them for sell. I think hatchback shape is far superior in looks vs the current civic hatch

The JDM EP3 does not have a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold. It does have a different exhaust manifold though. I believe it is the same exhaust manifold as the DC5 Integra Type R.
Rattle noise will probably be the heat shield over the intermediate shaft. There are special bolts that hold it on, and they get old and tired with the heat. Check that, thank me later. I removed mine completely with no ill effects.

This JDM EP3 Civic Type R is genuinely a good 2 door family car. Much like the Hyundai Veloster N, as a hatchback these are great fun grocery getters.

Sounds like a baffle gone.
Also the front calipers had type R cast on them.

Looking forward to the progress on the JDM EP3. Just got one myself in Australia. Quite rare and hard to come by wish I lived in the UK to get parts

My last prem didn't have headrests in the back but my first prem did ive had 2 55 plate ep3 , both with no Aircon awesome little cars
Looks like a good example. You could restore the paint, new headlights, new valve cover and new battery tie down.
Car is amazing, speaking from one year of ownership. The only downside is the missing double-wishbone suspension that the EK had.
I used to work at Honda in swindon, worked on and driven many of these iconic cars👍

I have a UKDM pre-facelift EP3 type R and I do not have head rests on the back seats.

I think it was facelift only that had rear headrests. My old premier did.
I have a ukdm ep3 and it has no rear head rests and the jdm ep3 has a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold that maybe why it sounds louder
